America did indeed fund the mujahideen in Afghanistan between 1979 and 1992, in order to fight the Soviet Union during the cold war. America provided billions in aid, training and weaponry. But Kasparian, like other leftists, can only see as far as the end of their own noses. Islamic tenets and the jihad (which includes violence and subjugation of women) predates America , colonialism and any modern Western nation. The entire Middle East, where Kasparian indeed couldn’t wear her white mini, was conquered via bloody jihad.

During the spirited discussion, Maher challenged Kasparian to name a city in a Muslim-majority country where she would feel safe wearing her white mini-dress, insisting Israel is the only country in the region that is accepting of Western culture.
“What city would you live? And where you think you’d be comfortable in that dress?” Maher asked Kasparian.
“I’m sure it would not be comfortable in this dress in any of the various Middle Eastern countries that have been destabilized,” she started to answer before the comedian interrupted her.
“You’re not really blaming it on whitey?” an incredulous Maher responded. “You’re blaming Islam on whitey?”…

Arabs are supposed to be Europid (also classified as Caucasoid / Caucasian), simply because they share no phenotypical facial features with people from the Negroid and Mongoloid phenotype.
This also holds true of (for instance) Persians, Turks (plus peoples related to both) and the bulk of ethnicities found on the Indian subcontinent (like Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali and just about all other ethnicities that are native speakers of an Indo-Aryan language), Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Afghanistan, et al.
In this context, whether Arabs are considered “white” has actually less to do with skin color than with phenotype.
In fact, a lot of ethnic Arabs in the African Sahel and Sahara region (all the way up from Mauritania to Sudan) and even on the Arabian peninsula display very dark skin. Essentially, they are Europid, but have no fair skin. The same also applies to South Asia.
I seem to remember that Anwar al-Sadat (once president of Egypt) was regularly lambasted by his fellow countrymen for being considered “too black”.
