  2. As I say before to Daniel Greenfield in response to what he said below:
    “The signs were there. They chose to ignore them”.

    Or are ignoring the more terrifying option that the Australian government acted deliberately to create the scenario that occurred. Lets just think about this for a moment.

    What does the preponderance of creditable evidence lead us to?
    When you look at each action or inaction separately it looks like incompetence or bad policy; together it looks like they deliberately created the situation knowing what would unfold. Or was there even conspiracy with the actual terrorists?

    Is it possible elements within the Australian government are conspiring with terrorists to attack Jewish citizens and institutions?

  3. In 2023 the State of New South Wales (NSW) was governed by the Left Wing Australian Labor Party (ALP). They had the responsibility for issuing State shooting licences for NSW.

    The Federal government in 2023 was also the Left Wing ALP, responsible at a National level for the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) who conduct requisite terrorism background checks.

    If the perpetrator was issued a NSW gun licence, even though ASIO had the son on a terrorism watch list, that suggests an incompetent lack of coordination between State and Federal governments, an IT failure between databases, and inadequate legislation or policy necessitating such coordination.

    So it’s not as if either the Federal or State level ALP leaders can avoid responsibility here.
    But just watch them shirk accountability.

  5. The copper in the picture has all sorts of medals but what are they for? When did sitting on ass become a medal worthy function?

    • Mel Lanyon joined the NSW Police in 1987 and initially worked in the Eighth Division Sydney (includes Glebe, Balmain and Leichhardt). Doubt there was much sitting on his a** involved.

      By 2007, he was detective inspector and by 2011 detective superintendent. He served as assistant commissioner (state crime command).

      In January 2019, he was appointed deputy commissioner (corporate services) and then deputy commissioner (metropolitan field operations).

      Following the 2022 eastern Australia floods, Lanyon was seconded as the state emergency operations controller and then, on 8 March 2022, appointed northern NSW recovery coordinator. In April 2024, Lanyon was appointed acting chief executive officer of the NSW Reconstruction Authority, where he remained until his appointment as NSW police commissioner in October 2025.

      On his left breast he wears National awards. On his right breast he wears State awards.

      He was been awarded the Australian Police Medal in the Australia Day Honours on 26 January 2011. He received the National Emergency Medal for his work with the February 2022 floods. He has been awarded the National Medal, given to all recipients who meet the prerequisite long service with any volunteer organisation in which participents risk their lives, such as the police. And he has been awarded the National Police Service Medal, which recognises those who have given ethical and diligent service as a sworn member of an Australian police service.

      So nearly 40 years with police front line and emergency services.

      • So after 40 years of service did he have a role in the creation of the policies and personnel that led to what unfolded that day? Very delayed reaction time. Four armed officers on the scene before the shooting started. Three armed female officers hiding behind cars along with one armed male sidekick? Policing is serious business not a social event.

        I wont single Aussie police out because we have had similar situations unfold here in the USA. Uvalde and Parkland to name two. My issue is, since we have the same things happening in Australia and on the other side of the world in the USA, can we really count on the modern police?

        I was just an IT guy (not a trained copper) but I always had a weapon around just in case. I sometimes worked at night at Banks and such. Places where trouble might arise. Yes, that was prohibited but I have always ignored bad or nonsensical rules and laws. If shooting began happening around me I wouldn’t wait for the shooter to perhaps find me. Not to mention what was happening to people around me, some of them my friends. I would find him.

        The guy who took the empty gun away from the shooter should have gave him a gun butt to the head to end the that guys threat. But of course if he did do that leftists would be angry he didn’t just gun butt the perp in the leg. The police have been degraded by the leftists among us and the police have followed along and that is a problem.

    Yet another case where the perpetrators of Jihad terror were already on terror watchlists–and in this case still able to buy guns. Was this missed, or just not considered an issue?

  8. Albo and Wong, our Prime Minister and foreign Foreign Minister have blood on their hands. They allowed the antisemitic occupation of the bridge, reversed the Libs plan to move our embassy to Jerusalem, recognised the fictional “State of Palestine”, imported thousands of ‘palestinians’ from Gaza, prohibited Israeli politicians from visiting Australia and continually pander to the hard left antisemites in the Labor Party for political gain. They are beyond disgusting. A pox on them both.
    If seven or eight of the people attending the Hanukkah celebration were carrying concealed, the slaughter would never have happened. These Islamic terrorists are cowards. They will only attack soft targets. The problem isn’t too many guns – the problem is not enough guns. Our politicians are bloody idiots. The Liberals disarmed us in 1996, and now Labor wants go even further. As the joke goes, when seconds count the police are only minutes away. But what is the first response of these morons? More punitive gun laws which affect the law abiding but are ignored by criminals and terrorists. We don’t need gun control- we need moslem control. And new politicians. To those who leap in with their gotcha point that the brave hero is a Moslem I say ‘so what. Does Schindler’s list, one good German, prove Nazi Germany wasn’t evil? Of course not – and one Moslem hero doesn’t negate the fact that Islam is an evil dangerous ideology which has no place in in a free society
