In the wake of the jihad massacre at Australia’s Bondi Beach, in which fifteen people were killed and 40 injured at a Hanukkah celebration, New South Wales Police Force Commissioner Mal Lanyon assured the public that his people were on the job: “We continue to work through the motive of this tragedy and will continue to do so.” The motive is, in fact, blazingly obvious. It’s so obvious, in fact, that even as Lanyon tried to give the impression that he wasn’t exactly sure what it was, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, who has never been distinguished for enunciating unpopular truths, let the cat out of the bag. He did so, however, in a way that preserved leftist fantasies about the way the world works, and so for now, his job is safe.

Islam is bad says
The Australian Labor Party (ALP) currently governing Australia, is a Left Wing political party, similar to the US Democratic Party.
The ALP are aware that the number of Australian Muslim voters, who are concentrated in key ALP-dominated electorates, are about seven times the number of Australian Jewish voters.
The ALP can’t afford to alienate their Muslim voters, even if it means ignoring, alienating or even dismissing their Jewish voters.
The ALP, and their Left Wing supporters in the media, want the narrative regarding the 14 December 2025 terrorism attack to be all about gun control, and the need to tighten the laws regarding who can have a gun licence; who can possess non-semi-automatic weapons; and how many weapons an individual can possess.
Many Australian Jews and other Australians want the narrative to be about Muslim control, including whether extremist Muslim preachers, proselytising hateful, violent and/or anti-Semitic language should be allowed to do so, or whether such Imans for be arrested and/or deported; and a broader discussion on Muslim anti-Semitism; and whether Muslim immigrants should be allowed.
The ALP want to get the focus off Islam (because it may lose them Muslim votes) and back on to gun control (a topic about which they are more comfortable). But so far the ALP’s efforts to switch the focus of discussion is not working. Everyone keeps focusing on the motive of the Islamic terrorists.

At the May 2025 Federal election, Pauline Hanson’s One Nation (PHON) Party received 6.4% of the primary vote.
During a recent December 2025 poll, PHON were recorded at 17% of the vote. They still have a way to go to gain a plurality and pass the governing left-of-centre Australian Labor Party (ALP) sitting at 34%.
Like the Reform Party in the UK, PHON in Australia have attracted increased support of voters concerned about mass immigration.
The increased PHON support is likely at the expense of the right-of-centre Liberal Party. However, the terrorism attack at Bondi Beach may also result in some left-of-centre voters foregoing support for the ALP in favour of PHON because PHON are perceived as more patriotic and responsive on immigration.
Similar to the UK, and possibly similar the USA, neither the right-of-centre politicians, nor left-of-centre politicians in Australia are perceived as listening to voter concerns about who and how many are being let in to their country. The so-called UniParty have similar mass immigration policies.
Only PHON appears to be sympathetic to voter concerns about mass immigration and especially Islamic immigration.
The next Federal election in Australia doesn’t have to be held until 2028, so a lot can happen between now and then.

Excellent summary of the situation in Australia, Islam is bad. I just hope that enough people wake up and put enough pressure on politicians and force them to stop letting Muslims in or reduce their numbers to almost zero. I will vote for one nation from now on and donate some money because they would greatly reduce Muslim numbers. I heard Andrew Hastie interviewed a while back and I felt that he was awake to islam, but so few liberals seem to be. So many clueless people around when it comes to Islam’s evil nature.

Infidel, John Howard was in the liberal party. That, in a coalition with the nationals, a rural party, is our conservative side of politics. The liberal would , I think, refer to liberalism as in freedom, low taxation and letting people be free to run businesses,etc. John Howard and his govt back then were clueless about islam around 2000 I remember writing to him saying they should stop letting Muslims in. I got a nice letter back but they disagreed about letting Muslims in. Muslims have conned so many people for so long.

John Howard’s party was the right-of-centre Liberal Party. He lost in 2007 and left politics.
The Liberal Party has been undergoing a philosophical, factional fight between the more centerist liberals, and the conservatives. This factional fight is similar to the GOP Establishment vs MAGA, factional fight going on in the US Republican Party.
John Howard, who himself leaned conservative, was a believer in a so-called “broad church” Liberal Party, in which both conservatives and liberals could thrive.
But since his departure, the Liberal Party has been led by leaders leaning liberal. They have been less inclined to be inclusive towards conservatives, some of whom have moved to support Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party.
But such liberal leaders figure the preference votes (in Australia’s preferential ranked choice system) of conservatives voters who fled to PHON, must return to the Liberal Party when only Liberal and Labor choices remain.
