“They are irresponsible fabrications that fuel fear, prejudice and division.”
Tuberville this week weighed in on controversy in Hoover where the Islamic Academy of Alabama sought to rezone commercial property in Hoover to move from its longtime location in Homewood.
The Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday unanimously rejected the proposal, citing concerns of traffic and the long-term land use for the area. However, some residents at the hearing made no secret that they didn’t want Muslims in their community.
Tuberville agreed with the anti-Muslim sentiment expressed by the crowd.
“Muslim communities are moving everywhere,” Tuberville told Infowars podcast host Breanna Morello the day after Hoover’s hearing.
“In every state, they’re building Mosques, they’re having these five prayers a day, they’re pushing this cult on everybody across this country.”
Tuberville said the school is a tool used to influence young people and convert them to Islam.
“In the future, in a year, I’ll be the governor,” he said, “and I’ll be damned if we’re going to do that in the state of Alabama. We’re going to protect the people of Alabama; we’re going to protect our constitution. We’re going to protect our state and we’re going to protect our country.”
Abdein said statements made by Tuberville and others jeopardize the safety and wellbeing of her students.
“When public officials spread dangerous myths about innocent students and families, they embolden hostility and increase the likelihood of harassment or targeted threats, undermining the safety and well-being of our entire school community,” she said.
“At a time when our community should be coming together, statements that demonize innocent children and families are not only false, they are dangerous.”
Abdein also referred to similar comments made by state Rep. Mac Butler, R-Rainbow City.
“We really just don’t have a place for such here,” Butler told WHNT, a TV station in Huntsville.
“Where you’re screaming ‘kill the infidel, death to America.’ That’s just not welcome here. There are plenty of Muslim countries that would welcome that.”
Butler’s district does not include Hoover nor the Birmingham area.
“Most of our students would not even know the word ‘infidel’ outside of hearing it in the news this week,” Abdein said.
“Our curriculum focuses on academic excellence, character development, compassion, leadership, respect and dignity of every human being, regardless of background or belief.”…

When they chant or scream “Death to America,” I would think that might be considered a Terroristic Threat. That is a legal charge in my home state of Texas and assume there is a similar criminal charge in each of the other states.
It seems to me when there is a defined victim, Americans generally are extensions (rather than the United States as the victim) of the threat and a person may be perceived as feeling threatened by the comment.
It would be an interesting test case, but the ACLU and CAIR would claim they have a First Amendment right to threaten to kill someone.

Tuberville has been one of my favorite senators for a while, from the time he dethroned Jeff Sessions (who was too wimpish to recognize that he had any constitutional authority) to now. But after watching Tom Cotton occasionally break ranks, and a lack of anything noticable from Hawley, I’m now more impressed w/ Tuberville than anyone else
Here is one more suggestion I have for him: introduce a bill in the senate calling for a visa ban from not only the 19 countries that the president has listed, but also from a few more muslim countries – Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar and Turkey. Maybe even more. I know he’s an ally of the President, but there are some things that he can challenge the President on, and even win his respect. Just like Laura Ingraham’s challenge of the President’s H1B policy caused him to days later narrow the scope of visas that would be accepted

Why is it not a religion, I would ask, Infidel? Yes, why? Because it is evil? Well, where is it written that a religion can’t be evil? Because it is the one major religion which is totalitarian, as both Bertrand Russell and Winston Churchill pointed out a century ago? My approach all along, and I believe this is Robert Spencer’s too though I don’t speak for him but only for myself, is that Islam is indeed a religion but it is replete with freedom-crushing elements and a plethora of non-gracious aspects which make it a menace to so many societies, some free, some semi-free and even some which are not free at all.
So, what to do about this? Well, I would argue that denying Islam religious status is not the route to take. Rather, describing it as a menacing religion, an evil religion, is the route to go. Just as Marxism and Nazism are menaces to free societies but still legal in the US, so should it be the case with Islam. But no more stupid fuzzy crap about Islam being OK and it’s just been hijacked by a few extremists here and there. This has got to go.
What to do? Properly characterize Islam as a religion but a malevolent one. Allow it First Amendment rights as one would Satanism or the old Aztec religion were it still around, but denigrate it regularly, do not accord it any respect, just as Marxism and Nazism should be legal but accorded no respect—and, this is key, criminalize Islam’s deluded believers acting upon any tenets of their faith which are antithetical to liberty.
In short, proper exposure of Islam, and not the banning of it as a religion, is the route to go.

There is also a US constitutional aspect of this. The FIrst Amendment, and the Right to Freedom of Religion, has an implicit assumption that Religion is good. That is something that it would have to be, to merit all the constitutional privileges, let alone protections, that it is given. Had the founders factored in the possibility of Religion being evil, they’d probably not have designed the First Amendment to be the way it is
There is also the parallels b/w islam and communism, and the only reason that the former is recognized as a religion while the latter isn’t is the date the former was founded, lending it an antiquity and culture that the latter somewhat lacks (although I’d argue that communist culture in countries like, say Kyrgyzstan, is superior to islamic culture in that same area). Nobody would argue that communism has constitutional protections, given that a communist regime would remove them if it came to power. Same is true about islam: there wouldn’t be any US constitution left if islam ever came to power. That is why islam has to be looked at like a political ideology, such as communism or nazism, rather than as a religion like Christianity or Buddhism
Like I mentioned above, Ali Sina once described in one of his essays why islam is a cult, rather than a religion. I’d combine the features and describe islam as a geopolitical, ideological cult:
⮞ Geopolitical – as mentioned in qur’an 8:39, infidels are to be fought until “persecution” is no more and all religion is for allah i.e. islam is the only religion left standing
⮞ Ideology – the shehada, and the denial of all other religions
⮞ Cult – the entire collection of troglodytic behavior prescribed in the entire collection of islamic literature. Also, as Ali Sina proved, islam satisfies not merely one or two attributes of a cult, but almost all seventeen attributes of a cult
As long as islam is recognized as a religion, people, not just muslims, will continue to mentally compare it to mainstream religions like Christianity and Judaism, rather than ideologies like communism or nazism, or cults like Branch Davidian or Heavensgate

Also, public scorn for it won’t be universal until this shift in recognition is made. You’ll have the Mehdi Hassans and their ilk make odious comparisons w/ Christianity, and insist that islam get the same respect. That’s why there needs to be a paradigm shift, where islam is constantly compared to communism (since nazism is both dead and has lost its effect due to its overuse by Leftists for everything they disagree w/. I very much respect Rebecca Bynum–but there have been evil religions before, including the worship of Baal and Aztec religion, both of which involved human sacrifice.
The idea that religions have to be benignant is not part of their definition. It is just that today most mainstream religions *are* generally good–save, of course, for Islam.

As a person who reads and studies the Bible, I have learned that there have been many evil religions in the course of mankind’s history. Many are written about explaining that they are evil and bring out the worse in men.
The ‘gods’ of the Canaanites demanded the same as the ‘god’ of islime….murdering others as sacrifices to their god. Ba’al, Dagan, Ashtoreth, Molech/moloch and others were all evil and required their worshippers to murder.,
And as someone who desires not to worship in vain, I learned the characteristics of cults.. islime has many of those, but not all.
The important thing is that people find out that the things islime demands are all evil. The comparisons to Christianity are made by the people who want islime to expand.
The U.S. government has the tools to put some big obstacles in the way of that spread….if only the people who could, would.
Governors Abbot, DeSantis, and perhaps Sen. Tuberville…if he becomes governor…are attempting to do that with some of the most vocal and active of the muzzies.
islime doesn’t need to be labeled as a cult to defeat it. The Truth just needs to be told….over and over until more people in power realize that they have more to fear from the people who know, than from the muzzies.

The only myth is what we have been fed by the media since 9/11. There are reasons why some might call Islam a cult. Maybe the reporter should ask why he said that.
I would say Islam is a political movement using protections afforded religions to subvert the constitution. It is very important for our republic that this political movement, hiding in plain sight as a religion, be exposed for what it is.
