Tim Davie, the Director General of the BBC, and the CEO of BBC News, Deborah Turness, have just resigned, after The Telegraph published a leaked report that a senior member of the BBC staff compiled, detailing its scandalous failings. One of the findings of that report was that the BBC show Panorama had spliced together two parts of the speech given on January 6, 2021 by Donald Trump that made it appear he had urged people to attack the Capitol. He did not. Even more damning was the deep anti-Israel bias of BBC reports on the war in Gaza, and the outright antisemitism of the BBC’s Arabic-language unit. The resignations of Director General Tim Davie and CEO of BBC News Deborah Turness became inevitable from the moment The Telegraph published Michael Prescott’s leaked report into journalistic standards at the BBC.
The Prescott report revealed not only that the BBC’s flagship programme Panorama had faked a video of President Trump, but that both Mr Davie and Ms Turness had known about it for six months and did nothing about it. This amounted to a cover-up of the most serious of editorial failings.
But this crisis is not just about the faking of the Trump video. The Prescott Report reveals systemic bias across a range of the BBC’s output and the failure of senior management to address it. It is an extraordinary and detailed indictment of a leadership and a culture in which standards of impartiality have taken a dramatic fall.
Chief amongst this, the Prescott Report has exposed systemic anti-Israel bias and antisemitism at BBC Arabic and problems of impartiality with the BBC’s wider coverage of the Israel-Hamas war.
For this, the BBC’s Chairman Samir Shah owes the Jewish community an apology. The Prescott Report provides prima facie evidence that the BBC has been gaslighting its Jewish audience. It reveals that Mr Shah, Mr Davie and Ms Turness received an internal report detailing evidence of systemic and widespread anti-Israel bias and antisemitism at BBC Arabic….
Let’s hope that more heads will roll at the BBC as the Great Epuration and Reset begins. Here’s my list: Louis Theroux, for his hatchet job on Israelis living in Judea and Samaria, who are depicted in his “documentary” “The Settlers” as wild-eyed Bible-quoting fanatics; BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson, a longtime Israelophobe who insists that Hamas members should never be referred to as terrorists; Jeremy Bowen, for his many decades of toiling in the anti-Israel vineyard as Middle East Editor from 2005 to 2022, a bias he continues to display as International News Editor; Lyse Doucet, chief foreign affairs correspondent; Barbara Plett, who wept when Yasser Arafat left for a hospital in Paris; and Yolande Knell, who promoted a story about a baby born in the Gaza Strip who died of congenital heart disease, and claimed that Israel had not given him a permit to exit the territory. Yet Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) said no such request had even been received from the Palestinian Authority. Knell did not report the statement from COGAT. And then the entire staff of BBC Arabic should be fired for its blatant anti-Israel bias. Are there more who should be cashiered from the BBC for their anti-Israel animus and, in some cases, for their outright antisemitism? Yes, and we will get to those in a future post. But just now I’ve listed a half-dozen of the worst offenders. Think of it as a starter kit.
What does this long-awaited day of reckoning and degringolade at the BBC prove? That there is a divinity that shapes our ends, rough hew them how we will.

I have remarked before on Jihadwatch that the palpable downturn of the BBC started some years back with the emphasis on recruiting presenters and staff from the “ethnic minorities’

When I was a lot younger the BBC – along with the NYT and WaPo were considered the ‘Cadillac; of news sources – objective, thorough, and truthful. The NYT and WaPo sold out their objective, truthful reporting over the last 2 decades. The BBC did the same – and added fuel to the fire through their anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli reporting. None of these 3 sources are useful today. Perhaps new management and a new editorial staff will change that – but in the short run, these are not reliable.

This is really amusing. The BBC can’t sneeze off a Trump lawsuit the way it can anybody else, given that it’s the POTUS we’re talking about. Starmer, who has been genuflecting before Trump at places like Sharm el Sheikh and pretending that his regime doesn’t hate him, is now in a bind. BBC is not Sky News or GBNews or ITV or something else: it’s government media (a bit like PBS, except that PBS gets a very small percentage of its budget from the government, and won’t go away even if that cash flow stops)
So Starmer would either have to appease Trump by throwing the BBC under the bus (and that too, very explicitly), or he’d make the UK almost as toxic as Venezuela or Canada as far as the US goes. Great choice he has: who wouldn’t want to be in his shoes? 😈

My theory about the pro-Muslim and pro-Arab bias of the BBC is based on the fact that the largest foreign language department of the BBC is the Arabic Service. Not sure how far back this service started, but when you have 100’s of deceitful Muslim supremacists on your payroll (plus the necessary Muslim prayer rooms, holidays and halal cafeteria) it’s no wonder the bias at the BBC is against Israel and western liberal democracies. The blind faith progressives put in anything the BBC says can simply be called “BBCism”!

I remember when they put in a Bangladeshi muslimah reporter to interview Ahn San Syu Ki over the war on the Rohingyas, which was a breach of journalistic norms. They could have put an English reporter to do the same thing

I have seen and heard the BBC Broadcast in around 40 different languages as Ive moved around the World and in every country the BBC was revered for its broadcasting as everybody knew it was the truth being spoken and people would sit glued to their TV Sets or Radios and listen and watch.
I remember one time in Ethiopia when I was sitting in a Bar and being the only foreigner as I observed everybody watching the BBC on an old TV Set though i understood nothing being said and when i told the Bar owner I was British he smiled and gave me a big thumbs up as he replied…” BBC number One ”…

For those who don’t know, the BBC for the last couple of years have been running a scheme called ‘BBC Verify’.
Where supposedly every piece of information is rigorously checked for inaccuracies.
Of course, everyone knew it was just another disguise for their islamo-leftist spin and agenda.
One of the first pieces I saw through this fountain of truth of verified information, was a story about the boat which sank of the coast of Greece killing hundreds of ‘refugees’ a couple of years ago.
The BBC at no point mentioned the FACT that with the hundreds of the ‘refugees’ on board including hundreds who died, that over 200 who perished were from Pakistan.
Pakistan also having 2 days of mourning for them.
‘Refugees’, according to BBC Verified. Not illegal economic migrants.

It has been so long now with the BBC, so many in the UK just accept that it does these types of things.
Years ago, a slow form of conditioning of people. No accelerating at a rapid pace.
The only option is to bring it down as with other treasonous parts of this once pleasant land.

As a Brit now living in New Zealand for over three decades, I followed the BBC and it’s equivalent news casters in New Zealand, TVNZ, and swallowed all of their narrative and ‘factual’ reports without question. The BBC, long respected by the world as being totally impartial and truthful and surely unequalled by any other organization, was like a branch of the Royal Family. Decent, conforming with generally accepted standards of respectable or moral behavior. An icon of virtue and truth.
Then came the BBC reports about global warming and the religious zeal about climate change. I’d already read a book by a Kiwi author called Ian Wishart entitled AIR CON – the inconvenient truth about global warming. So I knew that the BBC were taking a biased stand. After watching their news items I thought: ‘this isn’t right’.
Then came the BBC’s reporting of the events of 7th October 2023 in Israel. Fortunately, by this time, I had read a few books by Robert Spencer including the Palestinian Delusion and I was already a subscriber to Jihad Watch. So just about every report by our local news stations, the BBC, and especially Al Jazeera was clearly biased against Israel. It got to the point where I would throw something at the telly or swear loudly at the radio reporter in my car.
So I’m really chuffed that the BBC has been exposed. I’m sure there will be a lot more to come out of this expose.
