She added: “You think you do dawah, no one has done the dawah of the Palestinians.” She said that 98% of the people who converted to Islam in the mosques she attends in Brooklyn had converted because of Gaza.

The only thing i would correct here is the “THEIR Money” part. The use our (tax) dollars! I would think all of the people who converted to islam was due to the Palestinian issue. Maybe some over the “Kashmir issue” (like Palestine is about the eradiction of Israel, Kashmir issue is about the eradication of India as a Hindu country demographically, even if it may constitutionally be secular). There needs to be a LOT more publicity about the apostasy law: that once someone enters Islam they are NOT allowed to leave on pain of death.
And it has to be emphasised, over and over, that this law is part and parcel of Islam as such; and that it is NOT a ‘dead letter’ from the distant past but, rather, well and truly in effect in ordinary Muslim family and community practice, right now.
Patrick Sookhdeo’s “Freedom to Believe: Challenging Islam’s Apostasy Law” provides a good overview of the situation, past and present; and then there is the testimony of other apostates from Islam, such as Hannah Shah, in her book “The Imam’s Daughter”. She left Islam *in the UK* and became a Christian: as a result her father, an imam in a town in northern England, sent a mob of men with axes to attack the house in which she was then living. She was extremely lucky that they did not succeed in breaking into the house; because if they *had* they would most likely have hacked her to pieces. They were, to repeat, sent to attack her, by **her own father**. There are a goodly number of apostates from Islam within western countries… they mostly live in hiding, under changed names, like fugitives from the Mafia.
The apostasy law and the ‘blasphemy’ law SHOULD have been the ‘deal-breakers’ that forbade any free non-Islamic state from allowing any Mohammedans to settle inside their gates.

Every single useful idiot within the *Christian* church who gets into ‘interfaith’ activities with Muslims, needs to be asked, point blank, “Do you know about the apostasy law of Islam?” If they claim that it isn’t relevant or nobody practises it these days, refer them to Patrick Sookhdeo, Sam Solomon, Ibn Warraq, Ali Sina, Hannah Shah and any number of others who can testify to the fact that it IS a major influence on ordinary Islamic practice, TODAY. Sookhdeo, who left Islam to become a Christian, when he was a teenager, was lucky: his parents didn’t kill him – which strict obedience to sharia would have required – but, rather (perhaps because they were living in the UK and they would – back then, at least; his apostasy took place when Muslim clout in the UK was somewhat less than it is today – have incurred a charge of murder) ‘merely[ tossed him out into the street in the clothes he stood up in.
Anyone who expresses admiration for Islam and Muslims has to be asked, over and over: do you know about the apostasy law? Do you know that people born into Islam, who decide they want out and choose to become atheists, or Christians, or Buddhists, or whatever, run a very real risk of being KILLED? Do you know that someone who converts to Islam, and then decides they don’t like it, and wants to leave.. runs the same risk? WHY are you admiring – and making nice with – an Organisation that functions exactly like an organised crime syndicate??
