Police turn off Canadian National Anthem as Palestinian flag is raised over Toronto City Hall

The publication Twitchy rightly expressed dismay that the Palestinian flag was raised over Toronto City Hall, stating: “Today, for reasons we have yet to understand, the City of Toronto raised the Palestinian flag in front of City Hall.”

Given the Palestinian “resistance” and its goal of annihilating Israel from the River to the Sea, and soaring antisemitism in Canada, the flag-raising was appalling. The left-leaning CBC reported the reason:

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney recognized Palestine in September at the United Nations General Assembly — an announcement Chow’s spokesperson said Global Affairs Canada later confirmed directly with the city.

Bashar Alshawwa, a Palestinian activist living in Toronto said the flag raising wouldn’t be possible without the Canadian government.

“We need to remember that, without the brave historical step by the Canadian government led by Mr. Carney, recognizing the Palestinian people’s rights to self-determination and the Palestinian state, is the reason why we’re celebrating such a huge move,” he said….

Adding to the horror was that police  turned off the Canadian National Anthem as the Palestinian flag was being raised.

According to Daily Mail:

Videos taken at the ceremony by Caryma Sa’d, a Canadian lawyer and independent journalist, showed police confronting a man who was protesting the flag raising by playing the Canadian national anthem on a speaker.

Police turned the speaker off, so the man and people around him continued to sing a capella and finished the anthem.

What will Canada look like in four years?

  1. Looks like the Palis have their own state. Now what Canada should do is airlift every last Pali from Gaza, Judea, Samaria and Israel proper to Canada, and let Israel annex all those territories

    While they are at it, we should build a wall along our entire northern border, as well as w/ Alaska, so that none of them can come here!

  2. B’nai Brith Canada has filed a formal complaint with the City of Toronto over this week’s Palestinian flag raising at City Hall. The event marked the anniversary of the PLO’s 1988 declaration of “Palestinian Independence,” issued during the First Intifada by a group that was then a designated terrorist entity in Canada.

    Before the ceremony took place, B’nai Brith formally notified the City of Toronto’s Chief of Protocol and External Relations that the event contravened the City’s Flag-Raising Protocol and demanded its cancellation. The organization made clear that recognizing this anniversary would lend legitimacy to a history of terrorism and extremist violence and heighten fear within the Jewish community. The City chose to proceed.

    Another Jewish organization in Toronto – Unapologetically Jewish – filed a legal case in court against the Mayor of Toronto Olivia Chow and Toronto Police Chief. The case has gone before the courts and they lawyers have asked for a time extension but the lawyers for Unapologetically Jewish have refused and denied their request for extension. The case will now proceed.

  3. One of the reasons why the Canadian police did that might be because they didn’t want to offend the Muslim sensitivities or they could become upset and engage in Islamic temper tantrums ,and then start rioting along with the arson ,vandalism and looting that is part of it.

    Therefore, since many of them are so very short fused, the Canadian police , in an action of appeasement , turned off the Canadian National anthem while that fake and ugly “Palestinian flag” was being raised.

    • Appeasing only strengthens the beast. Never appease a terrorist, or you get more terror. See: Oslo Accords. More likely, the mayor and police chiefs are DEI hires and passionate leftists. Shame Trump couldn’t shut up about Canada becoming the 51st state. I blame him for Carney’s win.

    • First, that ugly “flag,” which many people call the “Palestinian flag.” Is , indeed, a fake flag. It wasn’t even invented by a Arab. It was made by a British man who disliked the State of Israel made it up.

      Second, there is not nor was there ever a genuine land that is “Palestine.” That is a modern myth. As the following reveals …

      “The land of Israel was renamed Syria Palestrina by Hadrian, the Roman Emperor. Following the second revolt against Rome in AD 132- 135. The Philistines had always been the enemy of the Jews .and as such it was an insult to the Jewish people.” [1]

      It should also be added, that Hadrian had deliberately intended the renaming of Israel to be an insult and offence to the Jews.

  4. I saw this video and was appalled. The supposed police officer (policing now takes the form of disallowing playing of a national anthem in the very nation whose anthem it is?!?) could have been flown over that morning from the UK, there were so obvious many similarities. I never knew there were so many LEOs completely lacking in self respect.

  8. A long time ago, when the Romans, who ruled over Israel for a time, sent their armies to destroy Jerusalem, the Roman soldiers took their “standard” and planted it in the City….showing ownership.

    When the astronauts flew (to the moon it was claimed) the very thing they did when first landing and leaving the ship, was to plant the U. S. flag….to show *ownership* of the moon.

    Remember Mr. Key’s song….about seeing the *flag*…..waving over the “land”….

      Ann is absolutely right but thankfully most of the USA and our people are not Canada. We must consider what is going on up there in Canada for our own security. Canada thinks it is an island far away from us but they aren’t. So far throughout history we have left them alone to do their own thing but they are going too far by embracing China and islam.

    • Time to audit the bank accounts, offshore or otherwise, of all politicians in Canada who either condone this crap or openly allow it to happen. Btw, I’m Canadian and it makes me sick to think that we’re controlled by globalists and their useful idiots. Believe me, there are a lot of them up here.
