The first draft of the magic bullet theory had the starting point for its improbable path in a clearly define wound in JFK’s back just below his right shoulder blade. But then these evidence manipulators realized they would never be able to sell it with the starting point being that far down from the JFK’s neck. Commission member Gerald Ford came up with some creative wordsmithing that described the starting point as being at the “base of the back of the neck.” They had no autopsy photos or diagrams showing a wound in this location, so they had a medical illustrator make some draining’s depicting what they needed.
Ford’s editing was widely reported. You can find reports about it online. Also, if you look around you can find images of the crazy drawings.

The medical officers totally altered JFK’s appearance from his injuries before they released his body to suit their lone gunman from the book repository story. His head was clearly blown apart from the front right in the Zapruder film.
