The organization Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe has published its annual report, indicating a surge in violence against Christians in 2024. It was only a matter of time before Christian persecution rose in the West, given the leftist disdain for their own Western tradition and culture, which are rooted in Christianity. Judeo-Christian free societies have been in a decline, thanks to leftists who have also supported open-door migration, which allowed in an invasion of mostly Muslim illegals from the Middle East and Africa. Christians are persecuted in Islamic countries, so what should anyone expect?

In its 2025 report, the Vienna-based Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians, or OIDAC, noted “a significant rise in personal attacks” against Christians in 2024.
The OIDAC Europe Report 2025, which was published Nov. 17, identified 2,211 anti-Christian hate crimes in 2024, a slight decrease from the 2,444 incidents recorded last year.
However, personal attacks against Christians increased to 274, up from 232 in last year’s report. It also noted a “sharp spike in arson attacks targeting churches and other Christian sites.”
According to OIDAC Europe’s findings, most anti-Christian hate crimes were recorded in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Austria.
Among the most notable crimes was the killing of a 76-year-old monk during an attack at the Monastery of Santo Espíritu del Monte in Gilet, Spain; a man shot dead in January 2024 by Islamic State militants while attending Sunday Mass in Istanbul; and the near-destruction of a Catholic Church in Saint-Omer, France, by arson.
The report also documented 516 anti-Christian hate crimes; however, when “theft and break-ins at religious sites are included, the figure rises to 1,503.”
“Alarmingly, 94 arson attacks were recorded — almost double the previous year’s total. One-third (33) of these occurred in Germany, where the Bishops’ Conference recently warned that ‘all taboos have been broken’ regarding church vandalism,” the OIDAC said.
Last year, the publication Premier Christianity ran an article reporting that “churches were burning across Europe, and that “known attackers include political extremists on both the left and right, Islamic radicals, and even satanists.” Churches have been indeed burning across Europe, and it is widely known who is responsible: the far left and Islamic jihadis. How Premier Christianity arrived at the idea that the “far right” was involved is a mystery, since the “far right” is often accused of Christian and “white supremacist” bigotry. There is no indication that attacks on churches are coming from the “far right.”
Islam is the main global persecutor of Christians. Also, the left increasingly despises Christian traditions, and is willing to use violence and revolution to express itself.
Last January, International Christian Concern reported that “multiple motives lurk behind Europe’s rise in anti-Christian hate crimes.” In the report, Paul James-Griffiths, director of Christian Heritage Edinburgh, stated: “The currents against Christianity and traditional family values, as well as against our democratic culture, have gone from being a stream to being a river.” The report continued:
Behind the changing currents, he sees two main sources: radical Muslims and people with far-left politics. “Both groups seem to use each other to advance their cause,” he said, adding that the far-left “champions diversity, except for Christianity and traditional values based on this faith.” Meanwhile, radical Muslims “laugh behind the backs” of the far left, while they use “diversity” ideals “to gain power in Europe.”
An example of this growing political power surfaced in December 2023 with the formation of The Muslim Vote (U.K.), which seeks to exert pressure on politicians.
James-Griffiths fears that the U.K. might eventually see the prohibition of “open discussion and critique of Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran.”
His fear has already become reality.

France, the report said, experienced a “disproportionately high number of incidents with an Islamist background,” including the desecration of a cemetery in southern France, which saw over 50 graves and the church vandalised with slogans such as “Submit to Islam.”
Canada has shown a similar trend with church burnings. A National Post report in November 2024 bore the headline “592 places of worship burned in 12 years. Liberals don’t give a damn.” The perpetrators were leftists exploiting the aboriginal cause, in much the same manner that they promote the Palestinian agenda:
There has been an epidemic of churches being set ablaze across Canada for years now — with attacks peaking after still unproven claims about graves of residential school children and a prime minister whose flippant response to the issue has done more to fan the flames against churches than quell them.
David Horowitz’s book, Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America also highlights what the left has been doing to destroy America from within, in its “efforts to create a godless, heathen American society.”
Leftist politicians with their open-door migration combined with rabid woke activists — harboring a particular hatred for Christianity and Judaism — are to blame for both the persecution of Christians in once-free societies and the persecution of the Jewish state. These leftist revolutionaries ironically seem to be unaware or willfully blind to the fact that also among their causes are radical feminism, trans activism and promoting the LGBTQ agenda. Yet these causes are only safe in Christian societies and in Israel. Islamic countries are still jailing and murdering gays and oppressing women. Imagine what they will do to the trans community.
As long as leftist governments continue to rule in the West, Christians will be persecuted increasingly, while the rule of law will continue to rapidly diminish.

About the very heading of the article. First, the terms “Radical Islam” and “Moderate Islam.” are unknown in the Islamic world. Likewise, the terms “Radical Muslim: and “Moderate Muslim” are also unknown in the Islamic world. Those are Western terms. For what a Westerner would call a “radical Muslim” in the world of Islam that person would be seen as a “devout Muslim” Also, what a Westerner would call a Moderate Muslim “in the Islamic world he would be viewed as a Muslim “who isn’t fully committed to Islam.”
Second, about Muslims arson attacks against church building in Europe.This has been explained by the Christian author, William Wagner,, in his book which is entitled HOW ISLAM PLANS TO CHANGE THE WORLD had explained on page 155 about a meeting that he had with a Muslim cleric , which reads “Several years ago one Imam told me that ,prior to 1990, the greatest enemy to Islam was Communism but now it is the Christian missions.” Further, on page 208 the Wagner had written about some zealous Muslims that “They have failed to stop Christian missions. They see Christian missions as their number one enemy.” On the next page the reader is informed that “Christianity remains the number one buffer against Islam, a fact readily recognized by those who seek a world wild ummah.” [1]

And I’ll say it once again. That unless and until Christians step-up and start defending themselves and the Faith Christianity will fast become extinct at the hands of islam and its moslem adherents. That means for ev very Christian church burned, two mosques must meet the same fate. For every Christian murdered at the hands of moslems, two moslems must meet the same fate. It’s time that Christians stood up for their Faith and make it perfectly clear there will be consequences for moslem violence against Christians. Serious consequences. If Christians fail to do this then Christianity will be greatly reduced by the end of this decade and extinct by the end of the next if not sooner.

In the UK the Government allocate milllions of pounds to protect mosques against non existant threats.
There was a recent fire at a mosque but that was done by muslims and it is thought that it was an insurance scam.
No money is spent to protect our ancient churches.
For every church that is destroyed 100 mosques should be closed down.
This best answer is to ban Islam from all civilised countries.
Had Jesus Christ encountered Islam in his life time I am sure he would have denounced it as evil.
