Dearborn: Resident finds Islamic call to prayer exceeds legal decibel limits, mayor says it’s ‘not an issue’

Any concerns are, of course, “Islamophobic.” Notice how Andrea Unger is on the defensive and explaining how she is not “Islamophobic” when the Muslims are the ones who are actually breaking the law. That’s how charges of “Islamophobia” are designed to work: They’re meant to intimidate and silence critics of anything Islamic.

In a Dearborn City Council meeting Tuesday, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud, a Muslim, notably did not apologize to local Christian minister Ted Barham for prior outburst of “you are not welcome here.”

Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud responded to noise complaints about a mosque’s call to prayer, saying it’s “not an issue.”

Hammoud discussed the concern on the Nov. 3 episode of the “Not From Here” podcast. Local Dearborn citizens have complained in recent months that a nearby mosque has been broadcasting the call to prayer on loudspeakers multiple times a day, beginning as early as 5:30 a.m….

“I would tell you is, you know, those complaining about the call to prayer, I mean it’s a very, very few, you still want to respect the wishes and, if you have a serious concern, I have to uphold the law across all boards,” Hammoud said. “But we’ve done decibel readings at these mosques, all within threshold, all within legal limit. And so for me, it’s not an issue.”

He continued, “We also have to uphold our constitutional rights to freedom of religion. And I would say this, you know, that’s the thing. I’m saying this as a Muslim. People, of course, are going to say this is a call to prayer, but like, you know, why are these complaints just coming forward now?”

“Yeah, elections are coming up,” host Jaafar Issa remarked.

Hammoud didn’t directly respond to that comment but shrugged and repeated, “Call to prayer has been happening since the 1970s in Dearborn.”…

Hammoud also said that most mosques in the city do not make a call to prayer at “Fajr” or dawn and compared the sound to church bells….

Dearborn resident Andrea Unger, who has lived in the city for 40 years, told Fox News Digital last month that she had recorded the call to prayer for 30 consecutive days and found it consistently exceeded 70 decibels. She said she raised concerns with the police department and city council for the past two years, but the problem continued.

She added that some of her neighbors were hesitant to speak out, fearing they would be labeled anti-Muslim.

“I have heard a lot of people say, ‘I’m glad you said something,’ because people are afraid they’ll get called names like ‘Islamophobic,’ like our mayor [Abdullah H. Hammoud] called [Dearborn resident and Christian minister] Ted Barham, because you disagree,” she said. “We’re not Islamophobic, we’re not anti-Muslim, we are not anti-Jewish. We just want to live in the community that it’s always been [before] something changed two years ago to allow this.”

Islam must be banned as illegal for Non-Muslims to survive.

    Muslims make false claims and deceitful exaggerations, breed a grievance mentality, and aggravate divisions among people in a manner that allows for justification of terroristic violence(Qur’an 3:28,54; 7:99; 8:30, etc.). Allah in Qur’an 49:15 says, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” As a result, Non-Muslims are marked for death by Islam and its Muslims. Allah stirs hatred against Christians until the resurrection day as Qur’an 5:14 instructs, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up ENMITY and HATRED among them until the resurrection day. And Allah will inform them of what they were doing.” See also Qur’an 60:4.

    Allah demands extortion payments from Non-Muslims to humiliate them and make Islam supreme. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid, nor believe in the religion of the truth among those who have given the book until they pay the jizyah out of hand and they are subdued.”

    Allah in Qur’an 4:101 says, “…Surely the infidels(Non-Muslims) were your clear enemies.” Allah disrespects and detests Jews and Christians for not being Muslims by teaching discrimination and segregation. So, Allah’s apostle in Sahih Muslim 26:5389 says, “Do not greet the Jews and the Christians before they greet you and when you meet any one of them on the roads force him to the narrowest part of it[where excrement and trash flow].”

    MUSLIM BELIEVERS are a greater TERROR than Allah while undermining a society from within. Allah in Qur’an 59:13 says, “You[Muslims] are a greater terror in their chests than Allah. This is because they[Jews & Christians] are people who do not understand.” Islam must be banned as illegal, and we have the legal right to defend ourselves from Muslim attacks and violence.

  4. Remember, “Islamophobic” is derived from “Homophobic.” Yea, the Muslims saw how well the queers silenced and intimidated critics by calling them “homophobes” and realized if that works for them, they can do likewise and thus created “Islamophobe.”
    Perhaps that explains the unlikely, paradoxical alliance between gays and Muslims.
    Meanwhile, “anti-Muslim” fear will allow excessive decibels to continue.

  5. I was born in an islamic country and lived 30 years of my life in that country before I immigrated to North America. I can tell you that that call to prayer blaring 5 times a day especially during the early hours of the morning was extremely annoying. But, living in an islamic country we had no choice but to bear this audio torture.

    If you look back in history regarding this nasty call to prayer… it was ok back then when there were no cell/mobile phones and modern technology. These inbred muslims used megaphones and loudspeakers. In this day and age, those call to prayer over loudspeakers is MOST DEFINITELY not necessary.

    Muslims are doing this on purpose to exercise their dominance and control over the non muslim population. We have to see that and stand up and have this braying like asses stopped. This is not what modern civilization is about,

      As far as knowing when to pray, there is no need for a call to prayer since everyone today has a phone or if not a phone a watch.

      Without a doubt, the call to prayer, in part, is a show of dominance. You should know this. It also serves as a reminder to all Muslims. If they weren’t reminded constantly, they might forget that they were Muslims and then forget to pray and then …. go astray. No one likes being nagged constantly.

      So there may be support in the Muslim community to not just reduce the volume, but to eliminate it altogether.

      • Long before smart phones, I was asked to design a watch that called the Muslim to prayer and told him which way to bow (I didn’t do it, because it made me feel sleazy.). So they have had no need for call to prayer for decades. The disturbing of the peace is just another way to make them feel dominant.

After all, one can think Evil #1 is even more menacing than Evil #2 in a given time and place but still assert, as I have, there is nothing I despise more than Evil #2.

Some ten to twenty years ago a woman of Chinese ancestry in either Malaysia or Indonesia complained to the authorities about the loudness of the daily call to prayer and how early in the am it started, she was arrested, convicted and imprisoned for insulting religion or some such islamic nonsense.

  16. Call to prayer: Islamic door bell to other Muslims to obey, is a loud speaker announcing we have and or conquering this place.

    Muslim’s have a bunch of children hopefully male children however Islam has more female children than male. I know this because a neighbor of mine years ago before I moved had 5 daughters and wife wanted her tubes tied, husband said one more time then you can have tubes tied which he stated 4 other times.

    Lucky for her the male sperm finally took and she had a son, born on the same day as the father. Had her tubes tied 2 days after she had the baby. Son turned out to be a brat.

    One daughter the oldest married a man who looks just like Daddy, another cousin marriage.

    No wonder the government is asking Americans to have more babies because the Muslims are changing the population census which is why they are voting Muslims into political office.
