Hamas gets to keep its guns. Will only turn over “heavy weapons” to a force that includes Hamas.
Disarmament is already a farce.
The so-called ‘peace deal’ was really the same old hostages-for-terrorists deal accompanied by a partial Israeli withdrawal and Hamas takeover. There’s no plan, as J.D. Vance already admitted, for an actual disarmament of Hamas. That’s a job that some Muslim countries are possibly supposed to do. The same ones that support Hamas.
Meanwhile Bishara A. Bahbah, Witkoff’s ‘Palestinian’ advisor, claims that Hamas only has to give up its ‘heavy weapons’.
Bishara Bahbah, a former adviser to Yasser Arafat with ties to the PLO, had previously blasted “the bigotry of a large number of politicians, particularly Republicans, toward Islam, the Syrian refugees, and the Sharia law.”
After Oct 7, Bahbah decided he was a Republican and formed Arab Americans for Trump. This was part of a larger Arab and Muslim trend of pressuring Dems to turn on Israel. And it worked pretty well. Then Bishara Bahbah got angry at Trump and rebranded the group as Arab Americans for Peace.
Despite that Witkoff brought in Bahbah as a “mediator” who can talk to Hamas. What Bahbah actually puts out there is hard to distinguish from Hamas propaganda. But it may be very revealing.
Mr. Bahbah, one of the key points in the agreement is that Hamas must disarm. However, Hamas has repeatedly stated that it is not willing to do so. Is there a possibility that they will not comply with this condition? Do you have any insight into whether Hamas is prepared to disarm?
Bahbah: As I mentioned, part of our discussions focused on the definition of disarmament. Does disarmament mean only handing over heavy weapons? Does it mean not developing or smuggling weapons in the future? Does it allow for individuals to retain small arms for self-defense?
The American interpretation had been that if Hamas handed over its heavy weapons to an Arab-Palestinian side and promised not to develop or smuggle new ones, it would be considered disarmed. As for individual weapons – the ability for people to defend themselves in case of an attack – this was acceptable under the American definition.
Under this definition, Hamas would keep most of its arsenal that it used on Oct 7 and most of its military forces.
What are heavy weapons? Depends on which definition you use. Hamas doesn’t have most ‘heavy weapons’ anyway. RPGs may or may not fall in that category. Missiles will presumably be classified as heavy weapons. Drones may not be.
Hamas will interpret the category as it pleases and so will the Egyptians or anyone else tasked with disarming the terror group.
Even any ‘heavy weapons’ will be handed over, according to Bahbah, a ‘security force’ that will include Hamas.
Bahbah claimed that “Israel is trying to convince the US to change the wording of the next phase, and they are using Hamas’s possession of weapons as an excuse. Hamas will eventually have to hand over its heavy weapons to Arab-Islamic-Palestinian forces.”
And those forces will include Hamas.
“It is possible that Hamas activists will integrate in the future into the Palestinian security forces. Israel and the US will have to accept this, because there will be supervision over them and a responsible authority, and they will integrate into the Palestinian security force,” Bahbah claimed.
Much as I predicted, Hamas will hand over its ‘heavy weapons’ to the ‘security forces’ who are also Hamas.
And, best of all, we may be paying for the whole farce.
The 20-point ‘peace plan’ proposes “an internationally funded buy back and reintegration programme.”
So the Hamas terrorist hands over the guns to the Hamas police officer and we’ll be paying for it.
As I’ve been warning all along, this agreement is a facade in which a fake ‘technocratic’ government is used as a shield for Hamas to remain in power followed by a recognition of terrorist statehood because the ‘technocratic’ government technically isn’t Hamas. In reality however, it’s Hamas.
Both America and Israel need to drop this ‘deal’ as soon as possible.

Since the plan includes armies from Egypt, Turkey, and various other Islamic man dress countries to establish themselves within Gaza as so-called peace keepers… its not really too important what weapons the remaining Gazan Hamas keeps. Further, the impending islamic Arab administration of an un-annexed “Left Bank’s” affairs adds greatly to the likely demise of Israel.

Grimly likely–none of these Islamic polities are going to protect Israel against Jihad terror.. Worst possible move.

The downside of the hostage deal was that Israel wound up owing to Trump, a man who is largely ignorant, indecisive and egomaniacal.
Trump treats Israel like he does Ukraine: Hurry up and make a deal so I can ride off into the sunset with my Nobel Prize, and to hell with the consequences. He picks the easiest side to pressure because he knows that Putin and Hamas would lack the flexibility of less authoritarian regimes.
Already, despite the obvious and absurd conditions on Hamas, which are already being ignored, Trump’s minions are raging on if Israel takes any action that would upset their Islamist allies, but increase Israeli security, such as extending legal control over Judea and Samaria. To them, this is the peace that the Great Leader has achieved, that will last 1000 years, so don’t rock the boat!
Witkoff is a talented real estate guy, but a know-nothing on Islam and other topics of relevance here.
These guys are partnering with Qatar and Turkey, so why not name Greta Thunberg instead of Tony Blair as Gaza chief? I’m not surprised by this latest example of idiocy.

All too true, Jewdog.

Israel needs to tell whichever American official is in Jerusalem this week – whether it’s Vance or Rubio or Witkoff or Huckabee…. that Hamas is in violation of the agreement, so the ceasefire is no longer valid. Them move in and destroy the rest of Hamas, including as many of the people released from Israeli prisons – this time, take no prisoners

Agreed

Hamas has been violating the ceasefire from the beginning.

Notice again how Islam gets a pass one way or another that Nazism didn’t and Marxism in many ways has not (NB., exception coming up in November in America’s stupidest place, i.e., NYC).
Yes indeed, the continued pass for Islam this way or that continues unabated. Oh yeah, this is much larger than Hamas and what it will or will not do. It’s about the ongoing and seemingly never ending excuse making for Islam—all of it. It’s as though having a religion with well over a billion followers means it’s too big to fail. Of course, it needs to fail but that ain’t happening, now is it? Courtesy, I might add, first and foremost due to seemingly forever clueless dhimmis like Bush 43, Merkel, Starmer, the (thankfully) recently departed Pope Francis, Trudeau, Albanese, Carney, et al.. And I more and more have to wonder about Trump himself.
Right now, the Islamic sphere of mankind has Western Civilization by the balls. Didn’t used to but does now. Not looking good, not looking good at all.

Islam has 2 billion followers.

This is absurd. Heavy weapons begin at artillery.
This is just “give us time to regroup, get more Hamas terrorists, weapons, displace the PA, and then go again”.

Israel got the living hostages back..with muslims it is always a hudna..muslims would never keep a ‘peace’
Now, Israel should take no prisoners…..none

Duty of the Muslim Towards These Treaties
Shaykh `Abdul Rahman `Abdul Khaliq
The last chapter from “Verdict on the Treaties of Compromise and Peace With the Jews”
Note: This piece represents the perspective of a Muslim scholar on the peace treaty and is presented here since their perspective is often ignored in the media and is important for the Muslims.
And now comes the most important question, that is: What is the duty today on the Muslim as regards these treaties?
The answer:
(1) The first duty is to firmly believe in their invalidity and that because they contain invalid conditions they were born dead the very day they were given birth to; because it is not lawful for the Muslim to conclude an agreement with the unbeliever for abandoning jihad and abrogating this religious duty, nor for giving up hostility towards the Jews and affirming love and amity for them; for this is leaving the millah. These treaties also contain provisions making it incumbent to screen out such Ayahs of the Quran and ahadith (statements) of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on him, that declare this enmity towards the Jews.
This undertaking constitutes a collusion with the unbelievers for concealing the Deen and knowledge and for suspending the Ayahs of the noble Quran and ahadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on him, that explain the essence of obligatory relationship with the Jews; and this in fact is driving the Muslims out of Islam and stripping the Ummah of its belief and history.
And since these treaties contain such conditions and stipulate them clearly, they are therefore invalid and it is not lawful for the Muslim to believe in them……
the non muslim world must realize the islamic agenda, and stop wishing and protecting their delusions about itslam..before it is too late

Witkoff’s ‘Palestinian’ Advisor Claims Hamas Only Has to Give Up ‘Heavy Weapons’
…………………………………………..
More of a sick farce all the time…
OLD GUY says
Hamas never intended to honor this peace agreement. This is nothing more than a period for Ham-Ass to regroup, re-supply and re-fund their war on Israel and the west.
Political Islam knows that they can not defeat all their so called enemies so some are bought with the billions of metro-dollars they have in their bank accounts. The world leaders needs to be aware of the gift givers who hand you a gift with one hand and stab you in the back with the other. Islam fits that scenario to the tee.

Sure seems that way.
