“You have to find a way to help the Palestinian people thrive and do better”
Despite the recent settlement, Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, both of whom have significant financial interests involving Qatar, the state sponsor of Hamas, went on 60 Minutes. They did it because they knew they would find a friendly audience to bash Israel.
Witkoff and Kushner, understandably, condemned Israel for striking Hamas assets in Qatar since that is where their capital is.
Anyone still holding out for the notion that Kushner was friendly, got to listen to him declare that, “The biggest message that we’ve tried to convey to the Israeli leadership now is that, now that the war is over, if you want to integrate Israel with the broader Middle East, you have to find a way to help the Palestinian people thrive and do better.” Because shoving endless billions at them and maintaining their infrastructure just wasn’t doing it. It’s Israel’s job to make the Islamic terrorists trying to destroy it thrive.
Witkoff, pulling out his dead son shtick as often as Biden, spoke of commiserating with Khalil al-Hayya, a Hamas leader, about his dead son. “We expressed our condolences to him for the loss of his son. He mentioned it. And I told him that I had lost a son, and that we were both members of a really bad club, parents who have buried children.”
In 1945, Germany lost its leader and in 1963, America lost its leader, and you would have to be a real Witkoff to equate the two.
But Jared Kushner thought this was just great.
Not mentioned is that Khalil al-Hayya had hailed the Oct 7 massacres as “a source of pride for our people… to be passed down from generation to generation” and vowed to destroy Israel.
Witkoff tried the Biden son routine out on the Israelis and got nowhere, and then whined that they were “playing the victim”.
Things got worse when Kushner insisted that the search for the bodies of the hostages was being conducted by Hamas in good faith. And then claimed that there is “a very intense effort on behalf of our joint center with Israel and with the mediators in order to convey whatever information Israel has on the whereabouts of the bodies to the mediators and to Hamas– in order to retrieve them.”
We know at this point that there is no deal. J.D. Vance has said that there’s no infrastructure in place to disarm Hamas and hopes that at some point, Muslim countries will get around to creating one. For now, Witkoff and Co. are pressuring Israel not to respond to Hamas attacks which means we’re right back to where things were under Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden with calls for Israel not to respond or to respond.
This state of affairs can only last for so long.
Lady of the Lake says
This is the worst deal that this young country has ever had forced upon them since it’s creation.

This is the worst deal that this young country has ever engaged in. And the worst is yet to come when they are also forced to give up Hebron.

Oh brother. Kinda’ like declaring an end to the war in Europe right after the Battle of the Bulge.

No one can be that stupid….so it has to be the other; they are just plain evil.
hamas took the Jews captive, hostages, kidnap victims and held them, murdered some of them in the tunnels and elsewhere. Now, the liars claim they don’t know where the dead are, saying the bodies are under the rubble.. And of course, the “rubble” was created by Israel during their response to the gruesome murderous attack two years ago. Therefore, the lack of dead victims is all Israel’s fault.
Now, these overpaid goons are demanding that Israel tell where the dead bodies are.
And, demanding that Israel rebuild so their enemies will “thrive’ and be able to invade again to murder, rape, torture, and kidnap more Jews for slaughter.
Just plain evil. May these two goons, and all others like them, soon ‘reap as they are sowing.’

The remarks by Witkoff were unnecessary and uncalled for.
Would Witkoff commiserate with Himmler over their sons deaths?

Trump, and I voted for him, has done this. He’s allowed this and still hasn’t cleaned up the US!
Trump believes that a “great deal” by selling Qatar weapons will fade their love of their prophet, their god and their war manual Quran? Can he be that ignorant? It’s all SO SIMPLE and yet people don’t get it!
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I voted for him as well, but only b’cos the alternative was Kamala, which would have left the field open for Mamdani-like foreign policies. But this term, he’s turning out to be as bad as Bush
rubiconcrest says
‘J.D. Vance has said that there’s no infrastructure in place to disarm Hamas and hopes ….’
Well, how can you have a 20 pt plan without disarming Hamas?
They’re talking like politicians, that’s why they sound weak, but no plan to disarm Hamas? What kind of a joke is that. I thought Hamas had to surrender to survive?
࿗Infidel࿘ says
Even in the first term, I considered Jared Kushner as mediocre, and honestly, didn’t read too much into the Abraham Accords. Particularly given that only 4 out of the 22 Arab countries have signed it, and of those 4, Sudan is an iffy participant, at best. One good thing about this term is that Jared and Ivanka have minimal involvement in policy making
As for Witcoff, I can hardly imagine someone more overrated. President Trump is achieving Bush-levels of foreign policy stupidity by treating real enemies, like Qatar, as allies: President Bush used to do the same w/ Pakistan (another one of our enemies who President Trump decided to inflate in order to get his payback on Modi). If the Dems weren’t themselves completely antisemitic, it would be worth getting a bipartisan congressional oversight look into Witkoff’s conflicts of interest when it comes to the al Thanis underwriting his projects
Wellington says
An informed comment as usual, Infidel. I hope you’re wrong about what you stated but I see no sound reason to think you wrong. More and more I get the feeling that people like Trump and many leaders in Europe know that Islam sucks but they think they can somehow bring Islam into the mainstream of modern society via some kind of prosperity route.
Rather like the thinking from some forty years ago that if the West helps China capitalize then freedom will follow. But that didn’t work out, now did it?
࿗Infidel࿘ says
I have been following conflicting reports from Beijing about Xi’s hold weakening, after a stroke that he reportedly had months ago. I do hope this regime is close to crumbling, like the Soviets in 1990
As for dar ul islam, the 2 countries I’m most nervous about are Qatar and Turkey. Most of the other countries, including Saudi Arabia, Emirates, Oman are busy building things to prepare for a post-oil economy (I don’t believe that’ll happen, but it’s a good plan in case they run out of it). Saudi Arabia in particular is exhaling money on that Neom project w/ impossible goals, like zero carbon
I looked up the per capita GDP of the Gulf countries recently, and all the countries have a per capita GDP of about $4.6K. Exception being Qatar, which due to its much lower population, has $71.5 by contrast. Qatar alone has money to piss away, and it has been doing that on dawa and jihad groups worldwide, as well as the muslim brotherhood. It also explains how they have money to spread as liberally as butter on a sandwich, and have managed to buy people on both sides, be it Ilhan, Rashida or Zohran on the Left, and Candace, Tucker, Dave Smith on the Right. Now we have a stupid agreement to defend Qatar, even if it’s from allies such as Israel (who are never gonna ally w/ the likes of Russia)
norman Gardner says
Qatar is not an ally. Unfortunately Trump seems to take their gifts and be satisfied with them. Qatar sponsored the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas so I am leery of them and I hope that Trump smartens up and he treats them like a movement to overtake the American people by stealth and wealth.
commonsense says
Witkoff and Kushner – two appalling and stupid Jews who know nothing about Islam and its jihad imperative, wagging fingers at Israel for not doing enough to cosset Palestinians while they return to still-safe America. Trump seems likewise clueless, issuing increasingly hollow warnings to Hamas to disarm while praising Qatar and, worst of all, preventing Israel from annexing Gaza and expelling its murderous inhabitants, instead empowering Muslim enemy states (Turkey, Egypt) and other doubtful actors to govern there, threatening Israel with a hostile multinational body replacing Hamas, which will be more difficult to eradicate when the war inevitably resumes. Siickening.
rubiconcrest says
Frankly, the US has bigger problems right now than Islam. Reducing the debt, the re-industrialization, election integrity at home, etc… are the greater problems. We cannot solve anything if we don’t get our house in order first. There are plenty of Trump advisors who are bitting their tongues right now about this ‘peace deal’.
gravenimage says
Yeah–who cares if we and the rest of the world are Islamized? Not a problem, huh?
rubiconcrest says
G, I did not say that, did I?
gravenimage says
Perhaps not–but with respect I don’t think I’d put Islamization so far down on the list…
Patrick says
A Pseudo Peace Plan. Is NO Peace Plan, sending Witkoff and Kushner was a total waste of time. What the hell is Trump thinking? Obviously, Trump is more concerned with appeasing the terrorists, than the Israeli’s.
This new perspective, make me thing Trump is the wrong President to be working with Israel. It also makes me feel like a number of terrorist Islamic groups in America are in Trumps ear. Groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR and possibly Tiffany’s husband from Nigeria, sympathetic to Islam

“Integrate Israel with the broader Middle East”? Does that mean conquering Israel, murdering all of her people save those to be used as slaves, and imposing brutal Shari’ah law? Because that’s what it *would* mean.
Mike says
This. Who exactly “has to help the Palestinian people thrive”? Obviously he means Israel, which is the same as saying “Israel must commit suicide as a nation and as a people.” These are the kind of Jews that make ignorant conservatives antisemitic– the kind who don’t even believe in God, unless it’s some obscene hybrid of Mammon and Karl Marx. Israel needs diplomats like that like it needs a hole in the head.
