UK: Teacher banned for life for ‘mocking’ Islam — he criticized honor killing and female genital mutilation

“Bournemouth teacher banned after ‘mocking’ pupils’ religion,” by Isabella Holliday, Bournemouth Echo, October 21, 2025:

A TEACHER who “mocked” the religion of pupils during a lesson on honour killings has been banned indefinitely.

Mr Alex Lloyd, formerly of The Bishop of Winchester Academy, has been banned from teaching following the outcome of a teacher misconduct hearing from September 29 to October 1.

One of the allegations found proven was that, in 2022, during a lesson focused on honour killings, Mr Lloyd told Pupil A that the lesson on honour killings was a “serious matter which affected their culture specifically and that they should pay attention”, or words to that effect.

He also said to Pupil B “imagine this was your mum being killed” or words to that effect, which was recalled in a statement from a fellow pupil.

The pupil added that Mr Lloyd “targeted pupils during the lesson” and she could see other pupils were “visibly upset” because their religion had been “mocked”.

Mr Lloyd told two pupils that honour killings was “happening mainly because of [their] culture”, and Pupil C stated that Mr Lloyd used Pupil A and Pupil B’s family members to “demonstrate what would happen if adultery was committed”.

In the statement of agreed facts, Mr Lloyd admitted that he said female genital mutilation was a form of honour based violence and that he told Pupil F that female genital mutilation “happens exclusively in your culture” or words to that effect.

Mr Lloyd also admitted that he told Pupil E that “she would have been killed” for what she was wearing or words to that effect, if she was living in Iran.

It was also heard that Mr Lloyd said, if anyone hurt a family member, he would “commit murder to make sure no one hurt them”, or words to that effect. One pupil said he said this in an “angry tone” and the class was “shocked”.”…

Deciding on an outcome, Sarah Buxcey decided Mr Lloyd will be prohibited from teaching indefinitely and cannot teach in any school, sixth form college, relevant youth accommodation or children’s home in England….

    • I agree, for an inteligent man Spencer can be very petty minded and has a special animus of UK because he was banned a VERY long time ago by a Home secretary, most likely it would not only desruptivive but also no doubt because the costs of protecting him from Muslim attacks would be high. Personally I did not agree wuth the decison and most likely many UK citizens did not either.
      Howevr that was the case, Spencer is much more critical of UK than of France for example, where things are much worse. Nor does he comment about on the state of USA which has been almost entirely conquered by Islam. Then theere is the infamous squad in Congress. One could argue thta the conditions in USA are much worse in fact than in UK but of course it is a much larger country. Time to get off your high horse Mr Spencer and calm down about UK

      • The idea that it is “petty minded” to think that banning peaceful people from warning about Jihad and Shari’ah in what is supposed to be a free country is very concerning.

        Then, Spencer and Jihad Watch regularly criticize dhimmitude not just in the UK, but in France and the rest of Europe and of the West, very much including the US. There are often more stories here about the US than any other country, just because Mr. Spencer is himself American. The claim that he has never criticized Ilhan Omar and Rachida Tlaib is obviously mistaken. There have also been recent stories about Mamdani’s candidacy in NYC, antisemitism, Epic City in Texas, CAIR, Trump’s blind-spots on Islam, and many more.

        And the demand that Robert Spencer “calm down” about child rape, Honor Killings, Jihad terror, mass censorship of patriotic Britons, and creeping Shari’ah in Britain is just appalling. I’m American and my mother is English and I have many English cousins–I’m not calming down against this savagery either, and if you cared, neither would you.

This is because they[Jews & Christians] are people who do not understand.” Islam must be banned as illegal, and we have the legal right to defend ourselves from Muslim violence. As a result, Non-Muslims are marked for death by Islam and its Muslims. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid, nor believe in the religion of the truth among those who have given the book until they pay the jizyah out of hand and they are subdued.”

  5. Sounds like this administrator was either ignorant of Islam, or couldn’t handle the truth about Islam. The teacher that was canned should’ve asked her what other ‘religion’ on the planet calls for the killing of people who do not believe in Islam. Islam is a death cult. That’s why it’s legal to kill your kids or your grandkids for some perceived failure. And women are nothing but vaginas on a leash. Britain I pray that you will be able to overcome these people, but it’s going to take a lot of educating and will. Better be prepared to use deadly force against them, because they will certainly use it against you. It is ordained in their holy book.

  7. What he said may very well be true BUT it’s somewhat inappropriate to attack the students the way he appeared to do. There is a time and place for most everything and this may have been the wrong time and place.

    • I’d normally agree w/ you on this aspect about time & place, except that the lesson in question was about honor killings. Did Mr Lloyd insert that topic into the curriculum?

    • That is true I agree what he said was correct but he seems to have gone about the topic in a somewhat ham fisted manner, especially as his students were of the faith he was critising. There are subtler ways of giving examples instead of singling out individual students. Pehaps we are not getting the whole story. It does not say banned from teaching it says suspended indefinitely, perhaps we will hear more of him in duie course

  10. Notice the many times the writer used the phrase “or words to that effect”. We can’t really know what words the teacher actually said, nor the tone in which he said them.

    If he had been a muzzie and said something derogatory about Jesus Christ and Christians, or some lie commonly claimed about Jews, he would likely keep his job. But Truth is no longer acceptable in the U.K.

  14. He should get a Visa and come to America and apply to become a teacher. It seems that we have a severe shortage of good teachers in the USA so it is a perfect time for him to do it. He can always go back to Britainistan every year for a summer vacation.

  17. I wouldn’t come down on the UK so hard for punishing this teacher for mocking islam. After all look at what has happened to those who mock the LGBTQ or races in schools or public here in America. A teachers persoonal political views do not belong in the class room.

My first thought is to wonder whether the teacher really framed the topics in the way that the pupils described, or whether he gave the impression of generally disapproving of FGM and honour killing, and then got stitched up. We are, after all, talking about the faith community that endorses taqiyya. It is very difficult to imagine any teacher picking out a German pupil, for example, and telling him to pay particular attention to a lesson on Hitler because it was his country that was involved. Statements like “what if it was your mother?” need not carry racist implications, although it might have been better to say them to a pupil not of the relevant culture, if there were any. The other thing to bear in mind is that the UK has a policy that a racist incident is as the victim describes it. I learnt this as a teenager (am now in my sixties) when I had a chair pulled out from under me, and the school’s response was to ask why I had told fellow pupils to “go back on the banana boat.” It was something that I had never said, a phrase of which I had never heard (my spoken English verged on pedantical correctness) nor even thought, having been raised by a genuinely tolerant family, and educated in a multicultural school system. What is ironic, is that, up till then, I hadn’t known that the people who pulled out the chair were not white.
    I do wonder what the point of the lesson was, if most of the pupils were Muslim, so would have known about the topic at first hand. Unless the teacher was wanting to tell them that there are helping agencies to which they can go if they are at risk. Anyone who survives by assuming a religious version of Stockholm syndrome, will not thank those who confront them with the truth.
