UK: 15-year-old Muslim boy who murdered classmate at school gets 16 years prison

The teenager convicted of the murder of Harvey Willgoose has been named and sentenced to life with a minimum of 16 years in prison.

Mohammed Umar Khan, also 15, was handed the sentence by the judge, Naomi Ellenbogen, on Wednesday after being found guilty in August of stabbing Harvey in a Sheffield secondary school.

Khan’s identity had not been reported previously because of his age but Mrs Justice Ellenbogen lifted the order after applications from a number of media organisations. She said his age alone did not justify maintaining his anonymity and that the “public will wish to know the identity of those who commit such serious offences”.

Addressing Khan, who attended court in a black hoodie, Ellenbogen rejected claims that he had acted in self-defence, saying that he had blighted the lives of anyone who had known Harvey, and had acted out of “the hurt and anger at what you considered to be his betrayal of your friendship”. Khan did not show any emotion or remorse as the sentence was read out.

Harvey and Khan attended All Saints Catholic high school in Sheffield, where the attack took place on 3 February during a lunchbreak. The court heard that students who witnessed the attack ran away “in fear and panic”, with some locking themselves in a cupboard.

The court also heard that immediately after stabbing Harvey, Khan had told the school’s headteacher: “I’m not right in the head. My mum doesn’t look after me right” and “you know I can’t control it”….

A 15-year-old boy who murdered teenager Harvey Willgoose at a school in Sheffield has been named for the first time.

A judge lifted a ban on naming Mohammed Umar Khan ahead of his sentencing at Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.

Khan took a hunting knife to school and stabbed Harvey, 15, in the heart in front of horrified children.

The boy was found guilty of murder in August and is due to be sentenced by the trial judge, Ms Justice Ellenbogen.

She said on Wednesday that Khan will be sentenced to a “significant minimum term” of imprisonment.

She described the murder as “a serious crime carried out by one pupil against another on school property”.

She also said that the “public will wish to know the identity of those who commit such serious offences”, and said that Khan’s age was not a sufficient reason for him to remain anonymous.

The jury in Khan’s trial was shown CCTV footage of the incident, which showed how he stabbed Harvey twice.

One of those blows cut through one of his ribs and pierced his heart.

Jurors heard how Khan told All Saints’s headteacher Sean Pender immediately after the stabbing: “I’m not right in the head. My mum doesn’t look after me right.”

The school’s assistant head, Morgan Davis, took the knife off the defendant and heard him say “you know I can’t control it”, which the teacher took to be a reference to his anger issues, given previous incidents of violent behaviour at school….

The court was shown images and video found on the defendant’s phone, which captured him posing with knives and other weapons, and was told how he had used search terms relating to weapons on the internet.

Khan told the court that he decided to carry a knife for protection as he feared other teenagers who he believed were carrying weapons.

His barrister, Gul Nawaz Hussain KC, told the jury that the defendant “snapped” after years of bullying and “an intense period of fear at school”….

    No one serves a full sentance they get up to 80 % off.
    He is juvenile so I can’t understand how his name is released anyway. On release he will likely be given a new identity.

  3. One solution that Britain has is to take a page out from one of its former colonies – South Africa – and become an Apartheid state. Completely separate English from muslims from Africans from Hindus from Sikhs from Buddhists from Slavs from everyone else, and give everyone their own townships, which would be no-go zones for everyone else. So inter-community schools, marriages, businesses, nothing. That way, each can cater to their own, and you won’t have muslim kids going to the same schools as non-muslim kids, thereby endangering the latter

        Video shows the killer pursued his victim repeatedly that day. That the killer was lying about being bullied seems obvious from watching him repeatedly targeting his victim.

        Axel Rudakubana was written up for bringing a knife to school, but the counselor issued a to school personnel reprimand for “profiling a black boy with a knife.” Imagine sane countries that don’t try to protect killers and rapists. Are there any left?
        Three beautiful little girls would still be alive had they lived in such a country.

        • “Profiling” was once considered a good thing. I learned profiling of an individual, and also regarding a geographical location.
          Criminals and their supporters complain, and now profiling is so bad, no one is supposed to notice race or culture.

          And yes, three little girls, innocent little children, dead so the murderer doesn’t get profiled and stopped from murdering.

          Sometimes, it’s the only way to catch a killer. In some cases, profiling can prevent
          killings.
          Most serial killers are White. What if that is not allowed to be stated? What if when searching for a killer, race is not mentioned, even if the police know the race of the perp?

    • Not sure that giving Muslims parts of Britain which no one else is allowed to enter is a good idea…

  4. The murderer learned all of what the claimed and what he did from his family, his barracks, his book of demon filth. and his lawyer helped him with his claims of “snapping” due to “fear and being bullied.”

    Harvey stayed home from school after another altercation involving his murderer, afraid to return as the murdering scum was threatening him online.
    when first reading of this murder, right after it happened, I had a strong feeling that the perp would turn out to be muzzie, but I never expected a judge to name him.

    Another case, also in the U.K., of a 22 year old muzzie who ran her married mother’s boyfriend (21) and his friend off the road where they both died, had her sentence reduced by ‘judge warby’ and his cohorts, due to her ‘young age.’

    muzzies are evil and they prove it every day of the week and multiple times every day. Age is no boundary to them if they can walk on their own, wield a knife or drive a car.

  5. Deport him and his family including mother ,father ,brothers ,sisters , Aunts, Uncles ,first Cousins ,second cousins .Chain deportation will make the family think twice against leaving their little off spring wild animal go full jihad and maybe rain in his violent impulses .

    • Everything in Muslim society sees the family as an extension of each member. The Western world must learn how Muslims understand the world and how they are understood in their own countries. Family dIshonor in a Pakistani village means something. In a British town it means nothing except perhaps to some other Pakistanis. There is an ocean between Western British values and Pakistani Muslim values. Without understanding this there can be no workable immigration to Britain or any other Euro nation. Time to stop the movement of Muslims into Europe until the current group which is already there learn how to adopt Western values. That probably will take years, it even then.

    • The truth about the UK. The average amount of time people released from prison for murder have served is about 16.5 years. An innocent life is worth no more than about 16 years there. Shameful it is. The victim is dead and robbed of their life and so too are family members and friends. The killer is allowed to carry on enjoying life freely, going to pubs, walking the streets, for how long? Many decades but how many…it depends.

      That is not justice. That is not moral.That is not fair. That is not something that can be endured. That has to be changed.

  12. The situation is not so simple as many think, including Mr Spencer. I believe the crime happened when he was 12 years old, plus he had relocated to another school, a Christian school NB. because of bullying. His home life was not of the best, the chidren were poorly nourished and physically abused according to social services. I am not making excuses for him but background is always taken into account in trials. I am sure it is the same in USA. Unless something radical happens to him in jail like getting a good education, he will come out in his thirties with a record and most likely will be unable to find decent employment. He will most likely become a dependant on the state or a drug dealer. He could also be radicalised in jail and become a jihadi as there are plenty of Muslims in jail who will take care of him!. What is the alternattive? Execution? even in USA people are not executed often even for murder.

    • Deporting his whole family is the answer , many people come from poor upbring ,poor nourishment in England ? Yes many people are bulling in school few plan to murder the bulling person by stabbing them in the heart and show how they are going to do it by recording it their plans before hand . Deport deport these broken toys with there families to make society safe again and set an example for other foreign invading families .You have non-Moslems lock up for questioning Islamic jihad violence of these invaders on line ,not threats just questioning the motivation of jihad violence and what it has done to everyday life in the UK.

      • I would not assume that his victim bullied him. There was no evidence of this.

        • The murderer was also the bully. That’s why Harvey was afraid to go to school.

    • Bill, he was ousted from his last school *for fighting*. He claimed he was being bullied, of which no evidence was found. Before he murdered his schoolmate he said other students were fighting with knives, and that this was why he started carrying a knife–but no evidence of this incident was ever found.

      Most of this sounds like projection to me. I grew up in an abusive and neglectful home–the idea that all who did grow up to be murderers is mistaken. I did not.

      • There are far more kids who grow up in poor homes, and even abusive homes who do *not* become murderers than those who do.

        And islime *teaches* this murderous stuff…bullying, carrying knives, threatening, assault, murder…obl came from a very wealthy family.
