Trump gives Hamas a new lease on life

Trump quotes the Sermon on the Mount, writing “BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS.” All right. Here’s another passage of scripture for him: “They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.” (Jeremiah 6:14)

The reason why this peace deal is no cause for celebration is simple: it will not bring peace. It is based on a fundamental misunderstanding or willful refusal to understand why Hamas is fighting and what the group is all about. Hamas has no interest whatsoever in establishing a “Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” except on its own terms, which would require the total destruction of Israel and its replacement with a Sharia state.

What Trump — along with every other leader in the Western world — does not or will not understand is that Hamas is an Islamic group. An Islamic group can be reasonably expected to follow Islamic law. Islamic law does not allow for the establishment of peace between a Muslim entity and a non-Muslim one on an indefinite basis, with,  say, two states living side by side and respecting each other’s right to exist. No, the imperative of Islamic conquest encompasses every non-Muslim entity. Muslims must fight unbelievers “until persecution is no more and religion is all for Allah.” (Qur’an 8:39) If Israel’s religion is not all for Allah, the jihad against it will continue. What’s more, Israel is on land that Muslims must ruled. Therefore the Muslims have an imperative before Allah to “drive them out from where they drove you out.” (Qur’an 2:191)

Yet if all that is true, why is Hamas making peace at all? Because it is losing. Consider this passage from a manual of Islamic law: “If Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with the Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud.” (Reliance of the Traveller, o9.16)

Note that this can only be done if “Muslims are weak,” so that they can gather strength to fight again — not so that they can live peacefully with non-Muslims indefinitely. The same legal manual also quotes this verse of the Qur’an: “So do not falter and cry out for peace when you have the upper hand, and Allah is with you, and he will not deprive you of your actions.” (47:35) Thus Hamas would not be interested in a peace deal at all if it thought it was in a position of strength. “Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of numbers or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim…” (Reliance of the Traveller, o9.16)

The bottom line: Hamas is feeling the heat and wants this peace deal in order to regroup and emerge in a stronger position. The one certainty here is that there will not be a “Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace,” but that Hamas and/or other Islamic jihadis will murder more Israelis and continue to try to destroy the Jewish state.

Avid to be known as the great peacemaker, Trump has destroyed Israel’s chance of really gaining a respite in the endless jihad war against it. That respite would have come from destroying Hamas utterly. Instead, Hamas lives on. The jihad never ends, but the destruction of Hamas would have set it back years. The destruction of Hamas and the toppling of the Islamic Republic of Iran would have set it back decades. Trump has prevented both. If there is a Nobel Jihad Prize, he should get it.

Hamas has agreed to a peace deal pushed by President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza and return the hostages, two years after the terrorist network attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, sparking not only the bloodiest day for Jews since the Holocaust, but a deadly war and a humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip.

Trump took to Truth Social Wednesday to make the announcement: “I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen. BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!”

Speaking to Sean Hannity, Trump said he expects the hostages to be released on Monday. He did not elaborate on whether he would be going to the region, although Netanyahu invited him to address the Israeli parliament on Sunday.

Moments before the president’s announcement, photos emerged from the negotiation room in Sharm el-Sheikh showing senior officials embracing and shaking hands as reports indicated significant progress toward a hostage release deal. Retired General Nitzan Alon was seen shaking hands with Qatar’s Prime Minister Al-Thani, with special envoy Steve Witkoff in the background.

On the other side, Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya and other senior officials appeared smiling. An Israeli source said preparations are underway for an official announcement of the agreement, while other officials expect it to be signed as early as Thursday.

Israeli media reported Israel and the terror group will sign the deal Thursday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement, “With God’s help, we will bring them all home.” Netanyahu added in a statement in Hebrew: “A great day for Israel. Tomorrow I will convene the government to approve the agreement and bring all our dear hostages home. I thank the heroic soldiers of the IDF and all the security forces — thanks to their courage and sacrifice we have reached this day. I thank from the bottom of my heart President Trump and his team for mobilizing for this sacred mission of freeing our hostages. With God’s help, together we will continue to achieve all our objectives and expand peace with our neighbors.”

The terrorist organization Hamas announced in an official statement, “After responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the movement and the Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump’s proposal in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the aim of ending the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip, Hamas announces the reaching of an agreement that ends the war on Gaza, provides for the withdrawal of the occupation, allows the entry of aid and implements a prisoner exchange.

“We greatly appreciate the efforts of the mediators in Qatar, Egypt and Turkey, and thank U.S. President Donald Trump for his efforts to bring about a final end to the war and the full withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip. We call on President Trump, the guarantor states of the agreement, and all Arab, Islamic and international parties to oblige the government of the occupation to fulfill all the agreement’s commitments, and not to allow it to evade or delay implementation of the accords.”

Dr. Majed al-Ansari, Spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on X: “The mediators announce that an agreement was reached tonight on all terms and mechanisms for implementing the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, which will lead to stopping the war, releasing Israeli detainees and Palestinian prisoners, and allowing aid to enter.”…

  1. I don’t understand why Netanyahu/Trump agreed to the scam peace treaty. I thought Israel understood Hamas and was in the process of eliminating them. Peace cannot be obtained when dealing with Islamic terrorists, with defined goal of eliminating Israel. NOTHING HAS CHANGED, Trump is an Islamic idiot, signing the peace treaty, Netanyahu isn’t that far behind Trump.

    • Netanyahu is under enormous pressure–including from Trump. Trump thinks he will get the Nobel Peace Prize for initiating peace in the Middle East. Sadly, he understands next to nothing about Islam.

      • It (the peace prize) has finally gone to Maria Corina Machado – Venezuelan opposition activist. She herself has been supportive of President Trump in his dealings w/ Maduro, and isn’t a Leftist loser like Yasser Arafat or Mohammed Yunis. I just hope this will put an end to President Trump trying to end wars in which one side is clearly in the wrong and needs to be crushed – be it Hamas or Pakistan or anyone else

  2. “Neither the Prophet nor his followers shall be bound by a treaty with an infidel.” That one line in the Qur’an says it all. Hamas will abide by this peace until n they break it (probably in a violent manner). All we now have to do is get odds on the next omniciders attack.

Though it is a nice resort away from civilization, the resort built by Israel called Ophira and liberated by Islam in peace agreement going back to Arab sharm el sheikh is a bad message of Gaza compromise instead of victory held on land Israel previously liberated from Israel, not by war but by diplomacy. Arab leaders get this.
    Something is off as trump stepped in stoping each Israel full victory at the last moment. Trump saved khomeni. Trump saved jolani. Trump saved hezbolla. Trump saved hamas. Trump made truce with Yemen to target Israel and not america like a friend should do.
    There is volumes more to this but have no stomach to continue.

      Yes, I think the Muslim leaders have exploited Trump’s personal weaknesses (even though he has many strengths including his love of country) to further the rotten heart of the Muslim agenda, which Spencer noted above: “until persecution is no more and religion is all for Allah.” (Qur’an 8:39).

      Trump’s recent words to the effect that Israel can not fight the whole world reveals part of his rationale too. He sees every Muslim nation against Israel, as well as Muslim infiltrated Western nations clamoring against Israel.

      What have the leaders of these nations told Trump that we are not to know!

      Sadly, Trump, with good intentions, has been fooled. Fool me once … fool me twice … fool me for 1,400 years !

  4. This “peace deal” is MUCH worse than it appears at first blush!

    2000:terrorists that have been jailed by Israel will now be released, only to organize and fight again against Israel. The stupid Europeans will pour $billions into Gaza to rebuild, but funds will be stripped to re-arm Hamas for their next bout against Israel. Hamas and the Gazans will still be in close proximity to Israel, as a continuous threat.

    The only light is that Israel will get ~20 hostages back, but the cost to Israel in future civilian and military deaths from these terrorists will be much higher

  5. It’s a truce and not a true peace. There can only be truces with Islam, never real peace. There is no excuse for non-Muslims not knowing this.

  6. I’m just grateful that Trump is not eligible to run a third term, and I do hope that JD Vance is more in tune w/ islam, even if he supports a more isolationist foreign policy (something I don’t completely oppose)

    • Vance seems to be well aware of the Hijrah tidal wave sweeping Europe. At the security conference in Munich earlier this year, to the surprise of all present in that room, during his speech he focused almost exclusively on the Hijrah (even if he used plain-speak without the specific Islamic term) and it’s existential threat to the continent.

      He called out the Europeans for their suicidal behavior, and wondered aloud whether Europe was even worth saving by the US since they seem to be so indifferent to their security, cultural annihilation, and future themselves.

      Further, a couple months ago, he used his personal family vacation time to travel England and meet with security officials / dignitaries, also taking the opportunity during golf games to discuss frankly with them all his concerns regarding Islam and Hijrah.

      The way I see it, Vance clearly has superior Islamic literacy and global strategic vision compared to Trump. Whether he can parlay that into policy valuable to us in a term or two in the POTUS/CINC post himself, or whether he squanders the opportunity as Trump is doing, due either to ignorance or unshakable deference to Trump’s foreign policy remains to be seen.

        I hope it’s a case of Trump kicking the door open, with his egotistical, braggart,
        flattery susceptible, media savvy, in-your-face, willing-to-lead executive branch
        for a return to and of America.
        Then Vance continuing with those domestic policies but have a vastly superior
        and encompassing understanding of Islam and what we are up against.
        In the meantime we, who do understand Islam, need to do all we can to make the true picture of Islam clear to America and to our elected officials.

  12. Why are Hamas giving up the hostages?
    I think they are aware of the great looming unsaid thing: Israel will not fall for the hostage-taken trick ever again. This is what the selfish Israeli families fear (the death of 1100+ military, 40% barely of age is not their concern) but how could the Israeli State convince its citizens that “If you are taken hostage -you are on your own, no one is coming for you”?
    A writer in Jerusalem Post obliquely suggested an indirect solution: legislate to make it illegal for the Prime Minister to negotiate with hostage-taking terrorists.
    The fear is why it’s unsaid. But an education program with nice brochures won’t save Israel from the barbarians.

        On one hand, I do sympathize w/ relatives of the hostages. Otoh, would I then want 40,000 of my countrymen, if I were in the shoes of those hostage families, to feed themselves to a meat grinder like Ukraine in order to fight an unwinnable war, since “we-don’t-want-to-commit-a-genocide” policies would preclude destroying everybody there before the search for hostages begin?

        Also, I don’t know much about, and don’t mean to disrespect Jewish tradition, but there is a difference b/w recovering live hostages vs dead ones. Once the 20 live hostages are out, stage 1 should be considered complete, and then get immediately to stage 2 – the disarming of Hamas and destruction of all those tunnels. Some day, if the bodies of the missing hostages is discovered, well and good and do the last rites then, but no more releasing of Hamas terrorists for those dead hostages. Get all the remaining things going, and that should include relocating Gazans to other countries, like Trump himself had proposed months ago. Then have all the reconstruction work go on in parallel w/ the search for the dead hostages

    • This is one of the ways “War Is Hell”. You must do what you cannot do.

      Israel already exists in a constant state of existential threat. Look at a map. Little Israel surrounded by vast oceans of Islam. Then in little Israel you have land devoted to enemies that want every Jew dead. Every man, woman, child and baby – dead. In reality every Israeli is a soldier, every man, woman, child and baby. To assign that role to only those in uniform exposes everyone in Israel to the “hostages” trick. The exchange is not “hostages” for “prisoners” it’s “hostages” for “active duty enemy soldiers to kill many more Israelis”. That calculus exchanges many more future deaths for many fewer current deaths. Instead of saving one your own are killing many more of your future own. It’s the only way I’ve ever heard of that makes hostage taking worthless.
      Anyone have a more workable idea? Is there a game theory solution?
      I hate this idea. But I didn’t design and don’t control reality.

    Today, Thomas Jefferson, the father and creator of the US Navy of course, would anchor 2 Carrier Strike Groups (CSGs) off the coast of Israel; 1 in Red Sea; 1 in Gulf of Aden; 1 in Persian Gulf; 1 in Gulf of Oman; 2 in Arabian Sea; 1 in Bay of Bengal; and 1 patrolling sea between Gulf of Thailand – Singapore and Malaysia – and West Philippine Sea.

    He’d deploy 1 composite Air Wing of B-2s, tankers, RC-135, and AWACS at Diego Garcia in British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT); 1 composite Air Wing of B-1s, B-2s, tankers, RC-135, AWACS at Andersen AFB, Guam, with Gen Billy Mitchell as Allied Theater Commander.

    He’d have 3 Ohio-Class SSBN, Trident II D5LE2 – laden submarines on stealth cruise between Mediterranean and The Philippines.

    He’d have Gen Curtis LeMay as his US Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff.

    And they’d kick Muslim ass.

    We already know the winning strategy, as our grandfathers have already demonstrated how this works – strategies still taught to US Field-Grade Combatant Air Force Officers (at least when I was in uniform, ’90s – ’00s):

    One Allied-Kufara nuke strike every 72-hrs on random Dar al-Islam target until the 56 + “Palestine” = 57 OIC Heads of State each surrender Islam, in exchange for no Kufara invasion of their territories which they get to keep, along with their power, oil, and wealth. Those who resist keep getting hit, once every 72-hrs until they no longer resist, but will then lose their territory, power, and wealth either to Kufara or a cooperating neighboring ex-OIC Head of State and People.

    That’s how I’d do it were I CINC or SECWAR. Like Hegseth, I was also a Major (near his generation, about 12-yrs senior)

    Since we (Allied Kufara) neither have the time, money, military, nor especially the national will to conventionally invade, conquer, and indefinitely occupy Dar al-Islam, the key – and the only way to do this as I see it – is to force the Muslims themselves to do the dirty work, shedding their own Blood & Treasure to self-apostatize.

    We must force the Muslim Heads of State to liberate their own Peoples from Islam. To spend their own Blood & Treasure annhialating any Insurrection. We provide to cooperating Heads of State the military advice they need, and off-the-shelf battle plans to eliminate internal Insurrection, but we give them no money, men, or weapons. (or, maybe we sell them weapons if the conditions warrant) – but NO Allied Blood & Treasure.

    This may work because the one thing Muslim Heads of State covet more than Allah is their own greed: Their own power and wealth. And no one wants to get nuked. When we start broadcasting across social media the Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) video of the first several (or dozen) random nuke strikes, the rest of Dar Al-Islam will be terrified and begin collapsing and submitting to our Will in short order.

    If they were to all simply stay in their own yard and mind their own business, perhaps none of this would be necessary. Then, perhaps a “Containment” strategy may work. But Allah requires them to come into our yard to conquer – rape our women, behead us, and kill our babies – and take our property and territory.

    We can barely control our own 1954-mi US/Mexico border. The Eurasian border is 3700-mi. The European border is 41,977-mi. The Greek coastline alone is 8498-mi.

    The African Muslim population, nearly all who want to leave their mud huts to Hijrah to Europe, will explode from 1 Billion today to 4 Billion by Year-2100. Meanwhile, the native-European White population due inferior birthrates will by Year-2300 shrink to just 5% what it is today.

    I haven’t heard a Containment Strategy yet that will work.

    Winning this zero-sum global Islamic War will require a strategy of Biblical scale. The longer we wait, the more desperate and limited our options will be.

    Sadly, I’m afraid this is true. This enshrines Hamas as the official ruler pf Gaza–in perpetuity, one assumes. I’m sure this is not Trump’s aim, but this is the effect.

Yet one must live and deal in real politicks with them! The steel of a sword defeating them is ALL these cretins understand. Greater force than these powers are the only means to assure mutual existence.

  17. Robert, why aren’t you in D.C. advising Trump? Clearly, his current Middle East advisors do not know as much about Islam as you do. I’ve been doing interviews, as The Terrorist Therapist®, and explaining that Hamas will likely only go as far as the exchange of hostages to get their prisoners back because they need more men to fight for Hamas. Getting the hostages back will appease Israelis and give Netanyahu some more room to continue what needs to be done to stop Hamas altogether. I hope that’s what he and Trump have figured out. But, regardless, you need to be advising Trump.
