Hamad Al Muftah, the Deputy Chief of Mission for the Qatari enclave in D.C., went on a Twitter rampage, attacking the many critics of Qatar, and one particular tweet of his happened to caught my eye.
“An attack by those who hate peace and embrace extremism reminds us of the importance of our values. It is a blessing. As the Bible says, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ (Matthew 5:9). The Quran teaches, ‘And if they incline to peace, then incline to it’ (Quran 8:61). The Torah reminds us, ‘Seek peace and pursue it’ (Psalms 34:14),” Al Muftah tweeted.
One of those is not like the others. And as usual it’s the Koran.
Your first hint is the conditional opening of “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it” which suggests a whole lot of context is being left out.
Like so much of the Koran, it’s actually about waging war on non-Muslims.
So let’s have a bit of context for good old Koran 8:61.
“Do not let those infidels think they are not within reach. They will have no escape.” Koran 8:59
“Make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war to threaten the enemy of Allah” Koran 8:60
As expected, it’s about fighting, killing and enslaving non-Muslims.
Yes, 8:61 mentions ‘peace’, but in Islam, peace means submitting to Allah for Muslims… and submissions to Muslims for non-Muslims.
And thus a more accurate translation is
“And in case they are bent on submission, then be bent on it and put your trust in Allah; surely He, Ever He, is The Ever-Hearing, The Ever-Knowing” (Koran 8:61)
It’s not exactly “blessed be the peacemakers” or “seek peace and pursue it” because there is no peace with Islam.
And certainly no peace, only a knife in the back, from Qatar.

It will probably not happen but it is what Islam deserves an evil version of god, an evil prophet and a billion totally evil scum who follow their example. I find it supremely delicious that when you pronounce “Qatar” with its correct Arabic pronunciation it sounds so much like “Gutter.”
Qatar’s untrustworthiness is eternally shown by its reneging on its promise to allow consumption of beer during the time it hosted the Football World Cup. Would they have ever won the franchise if they had said they would not allow beer during their hosting of the event?

It’s so disappointing, as a Trump supporter, to watch what he’s done to Israel AND to the US!
He knows what they’re about but when I thought about it I figured why he chose this path.
He had a choice to save the US and save Israel and the world, from Islam OR kiss Islamic butt figuring he’s old and he and his family would be safe when they conquer the US. What else could one think?
Again, Trump is a big disappointment. I thought he’d come in and separate the US from the Qatari terrorists. Instead he got in bed with them and hasn’t done enough to clean up the US. He should have investigated all the Muslims that Biden gave citizenship and visas.
Also, our government knows that the more than 100,000 Afghans brought to the US as friendlies in 2021- are suspected to not be who they say they are! What has he done …nothing. This is going to cause the US trouble for many decades – or forever.

Reminds me of after 9/11, when Adel al Jubeir, then Saudi ambassador in DC, quoted qur’an 5:32 about one who killed one man killing all of humanity, completely leaving out the context that it was a directive only to the people of Israel ie the Jews. Also omitting what the very next verse – 5:33 said
Of course, no journalist is ever gonna open the qur’an and verify a thing that he, or anyone else, said or says, since it’s a completely tedious and boring exercise
