Mamdani sidestepped the question about Hamas, saying: “I don’t really have opinions about the future of Hamas and Israel beyond the question of justice and safety and the fact that anything has to abide by international law, and that applies to Hamas, that applies to the Israeli military and that applies to anyone you could ask me about.”
Yet he has repeatedly had plenty to say about Israel. He only stops having opinions when asked about disarming Hamas.
And note that to find this a matter of concern is “Islamophobic.” Any opposition to jihad violence and Sharia oppression is “Islamophobic.”

And a top adviser to former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, Mr. Mamdani’s leading campaign rival, criticized Mr. Mamdani for refusing to “denounce a terrorist organization,” though he has done so repeatedly.
Mr. Mamdani’s harsh criticism of Israel and vocal support for Palestinian rights has been a lightning rod for months in the race for mayor. Still, the attacks marked a new level of acrimony in the race’s final weeks.
His allies described the rhetoric as xenophobic and dangerous.
“We should call these comments out for what they are: lazy Islamophobic attacks on the Democratic nominee poised to become our city’s first Muslim mayor,” said Dora Pekec, a spokeswoman for Mr. Mamdani….

He knows exactly what Hamas is and he likes it. But he knows saying so might cost him the election for Mayor of New York City. So he dances around answering anything about Hamas – which I think he will fund using his power as mayor – after election. He hates Israel and he is not completely afraid of saying so. He wished it was destroyed. He is a fervent Hamas supporter and has said so in prior comments when he joined the “democratic Socialist Party ” which he is still a member of. Yes, we all know he is incompetent to be the mayor but his pro-jihadist views are even worse. He also hates Jews but cannot say that in public either. But he will take a great pleasure in taxing them over and above what they should be paying once he controls that. Black, Latin and non Jews couldn’t care less about Israel and Hamas but what is really horrible is there are Jews who feel the same way and will vote for him.

Related to this subject is one concept that many Americans just don’t understand that term used, which is “political Islam.” That term is nonsensical and redundant as well as unknown in the Islamic world.
First, that term being nonsensical one devout Muslim who, truly, proclaimed “Islam is Islam.”
Second. as for that term being redundant, has been well explained by none other Ayatollah Khomeini who declared” All Islam is politics.” [1]

Well, now that the hostages are no longer a concern (after the dead ones are accounted for to ensure that Hamas is not hedging their position by secretly keeping live hostages), Hamas will be eliminated if they reneg on their obligations. Israel would then have no impediment to bombing everything from a stand-off position.
