This new Glazov Gang episode is hosted by Michael Lauber, the host of The Insurrection, and features Scarlett Karoleva, a journalist from the Netherlands who is exposing the digital ID nightmare unfolding in the UK and across Europe.
Scarlett discusses Digital ID – Europe’s Test Run for Global Control, revealing that what began as a “security measure” has now become a blueprint for total totalitarian surveillance — linking IDs, bank accounts, speech, and movement into one control grid.
In other words, welcome to technocratic communism. The UK is the pilot, Europe is the testing ground and the world is next.

I actually support digital IDs, so long as there are also built-in crypto safeguards that would protect the owner from all intrusion, but enable him to digitally notify any entity – airports, hotels, stores, DMVs, cops,…. his identity – only the parts they have to know. On a smart card, have everything associated w/ that person – his social security number, passport number (if s/he has one), DMV#, voter ID and so on. When one goes to vote and uses that card, only the voterID number will be read. If one is going through an airport, only his RealID would be. If he’s travelling internationally, read his passport. But make that the only thing that he needs to have, and protect it cryptographically
As far as currencies go, I think crypto will be the future. I suspect it may be Bitcoin, and doubt that others, like Ethereum, will gain as much traction

This is a very slippery slope that you are suggesting. If you support digital IDs with built-in crypto security mechanisms, politicians will use salami tactics to promise to implement built-in crypto security mechanisms if you just agree. As soon as you agree, they will change their minds, and you will be left with digital IDs as originally planned. I don’t support digital IDs, no ifs or buts. I advise you not to support digital ID’s either, under any circumstances.

Security mechanisms can be built in using technical techniques, which politicians would have nothing to do w/. A lot of these are open source, making it impossible for politicians to insert themselves. Remember how Apple refused to help the FBI in cracking the San Bernardino shooters? Politicians can’t succeed given that this is one area where success is defined by technology rather than legalese or bureaucracy

Digital IDs are issued by governments, so they have full control over content and security mechanisms. If you believe that the security mechanisms will be open source, if you fully support your government and approve of digital IDs, the proposed “chat control” regulation, CBDCs, and digital wallets, I truly envy you. I wish I could be as trusting as you.
Princess says
And why did I mention the proposed “chat control” regulation, CBDCs, digital wallets, together with digital IDs? Because they’re all interconnected. Once you will have one, you will most likely get the whole package deal, if not immediately, then eventually. You will not be able to pick and choose which ones you want and which ones you don’t. Just my 2 Cents.
