British Lawyer Arrested for Wearing Star of David Near Pro-Palestinian Mob

Can Britain be saved from itself? The latest example of submission to Muslims took place in London, where a British lawyer wearing a Star of David necklace near a pro-Palestinian protest outside the Israeli Embassy was arrested for his provocative behavior. After all, the mere sight of that necklace could cause the mob to become angry, even violent, and instead of protecting the lawyer from possible violence by the mob, the Metropolitan Police arrested him. Police officers from London’s Metropolitan Police arrested a Jewish lawyer for openly wearing a Star of David necklace, alleging that doing so “antagonized” pro-Palestinian protesters, and that the symbol could “cause offense,” British outlet The Telegraph reported on Saturday.

The lawyer claimed to the Telegraph that he was handcuffed and detained for almost 10 hours in an attempt to “criminalize the wearing of a Star of David.”

He was arrested at 7 p.m. on August 29 at a pro-Palestine protest outside the Israeli embassy in London, and claims he was monitoring the event for unlawful behavior by the protesters, and to scrutinize the actions of the police officers at the scene.

The lawyer alleges that his hands were cuffed behind his back, before he was put in the back of a police vehicle, and held for questioning….

This Jewish lawyer, wearing his Star of David on a chain, was apparently deemed so dangerous by the police that they had to arrest him, and put handcuffs on him, before whisking him away in a police van. But it was not he from whom the police expected violence; it was the pro-Palestinian mob chanting outside the Israeli Embassy. The mere sight of his Star of David could provoke that mob into violence. Instead of protecting the peaceful lawyer who was doing nothing more than wearing his Star of David,the police chose to arrest him for wearing that symbol of his faith.

This is justice upside down.

The lawyer was peacefully recording on his iPhone what he described as the pro-Hamas protesters’ “incidents of criminal behavior.” Was it vandalism just outside the Embassy, destroying the grounds or graffiti on its walls? Or was it the mob’s cry that “From the river to the sea/Palestine shall be free,” which, properly understood, is a call for Israel to disappear, and to be replaced by a 23rd Arab state? Or was it “Death, death to the IDF” or “globalize the Intifada”? Or Oxford student Sam Williams’ latest contribution: “Gaza Gaza make us proud/Send the Zios under the ground.” Were these chants not incitement to violence against Israelis and Jews? Apparently, the police had no problem with such behavior, but the lawyer, who shouted nothing, threatened nothing, and simply caught on camera instances of the mob violating the law, was arrested for coming too close to the protesters, while wearing his Star of David necklace, the mere sight of which could provoke the mob to violence.

Was the lawyer’s wearing a Star of David neckless truly a provocation, as the police seem to believe, or a simple affirmation of his identity as a Jew at a time when antisemitism is running rampant? He was there not to provoke — after all, he could have been in real trouble from a maddened mob — but to record that mob’s behavior and what he believed were its violations of the law, including laws against hate crimes. Instead the police chose to arrest him, handcuff him, and hold him for ten hours, as they tried to figure out they could charge him with, but came up empty and had to let him go.

A mob’s yelling and screaming against Israel and Jews is apparently okay, according to the British police. A single man, wearing a Star of David neckless and silently recording that mob’s behavior, deserves to be arrested.

This is Britain today, where the police, who for years did nothing about the Pakistani grooming gangs that ruined the lives of tens of thousands of English girls, continue to protect Muslim-led mobs from such dangers as a lone lawyer wearing a Star of David, who was doing nothing more provocative than recording on his iPhone the behavior of that Muslim mob.

  3. If wearing a Star of David (and likely a cross any kind) can be a crime in London, then basically the UK is no safer for a believing Jew (or Christian, sometime soon) then Mecca. These things harken the end of Europe, the end of Western Civilization and someday a Judeo-Christian society. This gentleman is a canary in the coal mine. This is neither a beginning nor an end. Just the beginning of the end…a harbinger of doom.

And whoever among you takes them as friends, so surely he is of them.     Allah stirs hatred against Christians until the resurrection day when Quran 5:14 instructs, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up ENMITY and HATRED among them until the resurrection day. And Allah will inform them of what they were doing.”

    As taught by Allah, Muslims are supremacist terrorists for Allah with their MONEY and their LIVES. Allah in Qur’an 49:15 states, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” Allah in Quran 4:101 says, “…Surely the infidels(Non-Muslims) were your clear enemies.”

    ALLAH’S MUSLIMS are a greater TERROR than diabolical Allah. Allah in Qur’an 59:13 says, “You[Muslims] are a greater terror in their chests than Allah. This is because they[Jews & Christians] are people who do not understand.” Islam must be banned as illegal, and we have the legal right to defend ourselves from Muslim violence. As a result, Non-Muslims are marked for death by Islam and its Muslims. Allah in Qur’an 9:29 commands, “Engage in war with those who do not believe in Allah nor in the last day. Nor forbid what Allah and his messenger forbid, nor believe in the religion of the truth among those who have given the book until they pay the jizyah out of hand and they are subdued.”

    Just today, other articles from the UK on Jihad Watch have police forcing a woman off her own street for walking a dog because Muslims are “offended” by them, and police there warning Britons not to dare fly their own nation’s flag for the same reason.

    For the past several years I wear Star of David earrings every Saturday in support of Jews. I suppose I can be arrested in Britain as well. My maternal grandfather was a police superintendent in England in saner times.

  9. The UK police are doing the only thing they can do.
    Appeasing Islam.
    They do not have the strength to do otherwise.
    They arrest counter protestors to save them from being attacked.
    It is a quick fix.
    It is done by misapplying Public Order and Breach of the Peace law.

    It is a mandate for the bully.
    We can all see this.

    The police are in this position because it has been handed to them over decades by politicians who have not only allowed mass immigration from third world countries, but actively encouraged it.
    The police found by the 1960s that ‘people of colour’ had to be treated differently from the native population. Laws were passed with good intent to prevent racial hatred but this developed far beyond that in to giving preferential treatment to immigrants.
    The tail is now wagging the dog.
    Two tier policing is the result.

    I have said this many times on Jihadwatch and I guess I will repeat myself again and again.

    The UK must not be viewed as a miniature USA.
    We were, even in 1991, ethnically 95% white British. We were a stable homogenous population for over a thousand years.

    Only an extreme Goverment that will ban Islam and deport millions can save Britain now.

    Opening his famous speech in 1968 Enoch Powell said
    ” The supreme function of statesmanship is to provide against preventable evils. In seeking to do so, it encounters obstacles which are deeply rooted in human nature.”

    No UK Government of recent times has looked to the future.

    Powell : ” It is like watching a nation busy engaged in heaping up it’s own funeral pyre”

    And as for the police ?
    They are living on borrowed time.
    Their epitaph?
    “Two hundred years in the making, two years in the breaking. Sacrificed on the alter of diversity”

    • Yes, police have the strength–they are just prohibited from acting. But in time, when it is much over the current 6%, this may indeed become correct.
