All across Africa, jihadists are expanding their domains by the sword. They’re focused on the Sahel region, North Africa in general, the Horn of Africa, and Central Africa.
Most attacks are from the Islamic State- and al-Qaeda-linked Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM). According to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI), the “Sahel region of Africa is the ‘epicentre of global terrorism,’” and now, for the first time, accounts for “over half of all terrorism-related deaths” in the world. What ever happened to those who profess to care about black lives?
The “insurgency is spreading rapidly with large-scale attacks.” Mali where JNIM has just burned and destroyed over 100 tanker trucks, is part of the Sahel region.
At least two two fuel tanker drivers were killed in the attacks, and a desperate search for fuel has now begun.
Still, the Western world thinks Islam is a religion of peace. It’s a religion of conquest.

Residents of Bamako face fuel shortages weeks into a blockade of fuel tankers by JNIM militants.
Long lines stretched in front of gas stations in Mali’s capital Bamako into Tuesday, as commuters desperately tried to find fuel.
Residents are starting to feel the impact of a blockade on fuel imports to the city declared in early September by a militant group affiliated with al-Qaida.
Bakary Coulibaly, who resells gas at a small kiosk on the side of the road, said he was having a hard time finding gas.
“It is only a few stations that have it,” he said.
Motorcycles and cars alike crowded around one gas station, with some people arguing and fighting for a place in line.
Douga Barry drives motorcycle taxis for a living. He said he was determined to help the country get through the crisis.
“We know we are at war, whatever the situation, and we are ready to take it on. Even if we have to stop our motorcycles to walk, we are ready for it,” he said.
Militants from Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) have relentlessly attacked fuel tankers coming from neighboring Senegal and Ivory Coast, plunging the capital of the landlocked West African country into crisis.
Despite being one of Africa’s top gold producers, Mali is ranked the sixth least developed nation in the world, with nearly half its population living below the national poverty line.

The title of the article is misleading. When I think of “tankers,” I envision huge ships carrying either crude oil or refined petroleum products. The problem is that Mali is landlocked. It is not until the middle of the article that the reader learns that these “tankers” are gasoline trucks.
In any event, this skirmish is Muslims attacking Muslims. Mail is over 95% Sunni Muslim and about 1% Christian. I don’t understand why al-Qaida is attacking dirt poor fellow Muslims, but as long as they keep it the family, I have no objections.

If I’m surprised at anything, it’s that muslim countries like Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Senagal, Gambia, et al haven’t already fallen to groups like Boko Haram, al Qaeda, et al. I’d have expected these jihad groups to already be in power in these countries, and form a Saharan caliphate
