  1. I don’t believe mo existed. But the problem with Islam, mo Allah and the hole damned thing is that it is all so evil and barbaric. That is why Muslims, who are poisoned by Islam’s evil content, should be banned from polluting non Muslim societies. If mo existed he was extremely evil . In Galatians 5,22 and 23 Paul says Christians should show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control. Islam is the opposite of those ideals. Muslims should leave Islam because it is so evil, full of barbaric filth.

  2. Like I mentioned earlier in the Ibn Warraq thread, it’s not whether it’s valid to research the history of whether or not Muhammad existed: it’s what use it’s then put to. I fully support finding out, for example, where did the Arab invasions start: was it in Medina, or Damascus. Or when were the hadiths and sira actually completed – 9th century or even later? B’cos that changes a whole lot of what we are taught about the history of that region. For instance, if islam was not fully codified until the 12th century, then all the claims of certain Mongol rulers or generals converting to it becomes totally invalid. And there is the question of the mosques: the first wave of Arab & Turkic conquerors would just demolish temples, churches, Zoroastrian fire temples and Hindu temples, but didn’t build mosques in their places. That trend happened much later, maybe to prevent those temples from being re-built

    About the long gaps b/w an actual event and its history being recorded, Raymond Ibrahim gave some good parallels when talking about the history of Alexander the Great, but omitted to mention contemporaneous literature from the places he invaded, if not conquered. For instance, he had invaded India but had stopped at the Indus, and ancient Hindu historians give a good account of his campaigns there, so he did exist. I am not sure how contemporaneous the Greek, Persian and other accounts of his conquests were, but I do accept that a strong oral tradition at the time enabled people to transmit a largely accurate account of his adventures. But yeah, that would call into question the comparisons being drawn b/w Alexander and Muhammad

    I do agree w/ Robert’s bottom line – reading books. These days, you get ebooks and audiobooks, so that’s there for people like me who increasingly dislike slaughtered tree editions

    • Actually, I think that Infidels being able to openly question Islam is key–whatever conclusions one ultimately comes to.

  3. Robert, I think you predicted civil wars coming in Europe many years ago, way ahead of the crowd now predicting it. I wonder if you could point to the earliest story or article where you made that prediction, because I’d like to start dropping comments around the internet pointing out how you were aware of this problem so long ago.
