Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that his country cannot intervene to stop the war in Gaza because it does not possess nuclear bombs, according to reports in Spanish media quoting remarks he made to journalists while announcing sanctions against Israel on Monday.
Sanchez on Monday announced an arms embargo and partial import ban over Israel’s wartime conduct in Gaza, and said that the sanctions and other measures against Israel aimed to “stop the genocide in Gaza, pursue its perpetrators, and support the Palestinian population.”…
“Spain, as you know, doesn’t have nuclear bombs, nor aircraft carriers, nor large oil reserves,” Sanchez was quoted as saying during the Monday press event.
“We alone can’t stop the Israeli offensive,” he said. “But that doesn’t mean we won’t stop trying, because there are causes that are worth fighting for, even if winning them isn’t in our sole power.”
Sanchez’s remarks set off a storm within some segments of Spanish politics, with the leader of the far-right Vox party Santiago Abascal saying that the premier “would like to have nuclear weapons… but not to defend Spain. To defend Hamas.”
“A nuclear bomb on Tel Aviv? Is that what he intends to do?” asked a spokesman for the center-right Popular Party.
Sanchez, an outspoken critic of Israel, is the most senior European leader to have called the fighting in Gaza a “genocide.”…

Maybe if your country, under the Bourbons, hadn’t expelled or caused Jews to flee your country, they may have all remained there, and there may not have been an Israel. More broadly put, if the myriad Catholic countries of Europe didn’t have an antisemitic policy and just let the Jews in their empires live alongside Catholics and other Christians as equals, Jews may never had a major reason to ask for a Jewish homeland, and after WWI, all of that could have still been “Transjordan”

Just to clarify, I wouldn’t have been opposed to Zionists claiming a state in Israel even w/o a holocaust happening. I was just pointing out that if the Catholics and Orthodox Christians of the day didn’t have a policy of making life miserable for the Jews, far fewer Jews would have gone there from Europe: the bulk may have just come from dar ul islam or other places

To call this mamzer an “hijo de puta” (son of a whore) would be a horrible insult to those poor women forced to exercise the oldest profession because of (most of the time) poverty and horrible circumstances. This Sánchez individual is hated by more and more people in Spain because of the corruption of his government, his sympathy to Hamas and Hizbolla and his fanatic antisemitism. If he had half an ounce of decency, he would ask the Egyptians why their frontier to Gaza is as hermetically closed as the one that divided East and West Germany, why Lebanon and other Arab countries don’t want “Palestinians” within their borders.

Where has Pedro Sanchez been since 1987, when Hamas was formed and actively attacking Israel & killing Jews? Pedro has been SILENT! Has Pedro & Spain submitted to Islam? For 36 years, it’s been a relentless terror assault on Israel by Hamas. Destroying property and killing Jews. Is that acceptable, Pedro? Is that Spain’s policy to allow Islamic Terrorists to continue their attacks on Israel, employing their Hamas Charter to annihilate Israel?

Actually, Israel could do that! Endorse the Basque movement, invite them to set up an “embassy” in Jerusalem, and help them become an army that can storm Catalonia, capture Barcelona, and declare an independent Basque Republic.
Just have some conditions upfront:
⮞ Insist that that Basque Republic have its embassy in Jerusalem
⮞ Make the Basque Republic a safe enclave for Jews in Europe
⮞ Exit the EU, EHRC, Schengen zones so that Europeans from the rest of Europe cannot enter that country w/o visas. Particularly follow policies like Hungary or Poland – no entry for muslims
⮞ No recognition of the Palestinians
⮞ No diplomatic relations w/ any Arab country that hasn’t signed the Abraham Accords or whose population is hostile to Jews/Israel
