Why are Hamas leaders in Qatar? Same reason the mastermind of 9/11 was.
Why are Hamas leaders in Qatar? Same reason Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of 9/11, was there before a member of the Qatari royal family helped him escape ahead of the FBI coming in to get him.
American officials say the FBI and CIA just missed capturing the al Qaeda leader believed to have organized the 9/11 attacks — and now believed to be planning a new attack against Americans — because it appears he was protected and tipped off by a member of the royal family in Qatar, Abdullah Bin Khalid al-Thani.
In 1996, the FBI tracked Mohammed, under indictment on charges of terrorism, to Qatar’s capital city, Doha, and was within hours of capturing him.
“We had located Khalid Sheikh,” Cloonan told ABCNEWS. “We were prepared to fly the plane in and to take him out.”
But Cloonan says Mohammed was tipped off shortly after Qatar officials were told of the plan and headed for the airport.
Same reason Taliban leaders were there. Or how the Qataris got our people killed in Benghazi.
Qatar made itself into a hub for the Muslim Brotherhood, the group behind Hamas and Al Qaeda, and various Islamist operations around the world.
It’s an enemy of America, Israel and the entire civilized world, but it also engages in bribery on a global scale at almost unthinkable levels, it deploys a worldwide propaganda machine, Al Jazeera, and despite being a tiny slave state with a small population, punches far above its weight.
We should not be in Qatar. And Qatar should not be in America.

The entire US Foreign Policy establishment – right up to President Trump (and Bush before him) look like chumps. Qatar is doing now vis a vis Hamas exactly what Pakistan did in the 00’s vis a vis the Taliban. After Osama was killed at Abbottabad in 2011, that should have ended US-Pak relations. In 2001, President Bush claimed that nations that harbor terrorists would be treated exactly like terrorists. Except that he was either a coward or a liar or some combination of the two. Granted, Osama was killed during Obama’s term, but on this, that policy should have been the same, and Pakistan’s relations w/ the US should have been instantly terminated
President Trump got it right about them in his first term, when he ended US aid to Pakistan. But somehow, this time, Pakistan decided to be one of the countries nominating him for a Nobel Prize, and he fell for it? Then trashtalks India about exporting Pakistani oil there? In 2007 or thereabouts, there was a proposal from Iran to have an oil pipeline to India going through Pakistan. Thankfully, even that Indian government wasn’t stupid enough to fall for it
Now, the same thing is happening w/ Qatar. They are pretending to be mediators b/w Israel and Hamas, when in fact, they can make Hamas do cartwheels if they want, being the biggest funders of Hamas (Iran hardly has much after what it has given Hizbullah and the Houthis). They’re funding Hamas, and they’re pretending to be an ally to the US and do Israel favors. If anything, Israel should have done more: they should have levelled al Jazeera headquarters and all their transmission stations in Qatar, and threatened to topple the al Thanis. There was a time Qatar was a part of Bahrein: maybe get it back to that status
Only difference b/w Pakistan and Qatar is that the latter is swimming in 💵 and is a lot better at buying off anybody – just look at Tucker Carlson. Otherwise, both those countries should be on our enemies list

I fear you’re right, Infidel, but I’m sure you’ll understand why I hope you’re wrong. And I write this to you while keeping in mind what Emily Dickinson, that magnificent recluse, said about hope, to wit, “Hope is a subtle Glutton.” In other words, right now not lookin’ all that good.

Except Osama bin Laden was probably never killed in Obama administration. Riveting narrative of the Seal Team operation, shoot ’em up bang bang, and bin Laden dead as a doornail, hazzah hazzah! Except there were never photos released of the carcass, and the body was quickly airlifted to a ship in the Indian Ocean for burial at sea, in full accordance with Islamic traditions. (Except Islam doesn’t bury at sea, so what “traditions”?). More like a political decision to gain voters in upcoming elections, tough on terrorism, wave the flag operation. Only ones who might spoil everything were that Seal Team who might expose the fraud, so they are rushed even further overseas and very shortly afterwards are loaded into a bulky slow helicopter and flown into a kill zone to be blown out of the skies (which got little news coverage). Evil at our highest levels of leadership.

I wonder how much of this Trump gets. Perhaps very little. Perhaps a good bit but even if so still making a mistake in thinking that prosperity can significantly mitigate ideology, which it can’t with any totalitarian ideology and if Islam is not a totalitarian ideology then there is no such thing as a totalitarian ideology.
After all, several times over the years here at JW I have asserted that compared to Islam secular totalitarian ideologies like Marxism and Nazism are only JV players even though, to put it mildly, both did enormous damage. Islam by contrast is indeed the “varsity player” in this regard and it has been doing immense damage to mankind since its inception in the 7th century AD.
Yes, Qatar is a terrorist state. Daniel Greenfield is correct. Again I wonder how much Trump—or for that matter Vance, Bondi, Patel, Ratcliffe, Gabbard, Rubio, et al.—knows this. Perhaps Trump, who is very capable of thinking outside the box, is pursuing a divide and conquer strategy. Not sure. Not sure of a lot presently where the forever woeful and dismal Islamic sphere of mankind is concerned and how the (thankfully) 80% of mankind which is not Islamic is dealing with the mess Islam has been creating for some 1400 years now. Matters remain very fluid.

While Bush 43 naively believed “democracy” is the magic formula that would bring Dar al-Islam into the modern world with the rest of us, perhaps Trump, with his phenomenal business acumen and background in commerce, believes money, commerce, and international trade is the solution.
Both men, of course, ignore the real problem: Islam.
Trump should realize that wealth in the hands of Muslim governments is dangerous. For example, Saudi Arabia and Mali are each 96% Muslim. Saudi Arabia has enormous oil wealth, and exports Islam globally, building mosques and funding universities all over the world. Mali, on the other hand, has no oil, and they’re living in mud huts, dangerous only to themselves and their next door neighbors.
Big picture, if we were serious about winning this zero-sum global Islamic War, we’d be comandeering the Arab oil wealth. We should put a gun to their heads and give them a choice: They can cooperate and surrender Islam, and keep their power, territory, and oil wealth, or they can refuse, in which case we’ll take all three.

I suspect, or at least hope, that Vance, Patel, (not Rubio – he demonstrated his ignorance in 2016!), Ratcliffe and Bondi get this. For me, if Vance gets it, it’s a good start, since I do expect him to be our nominee in 2028 (unless he has a Pence-like falling out w/ Trump). I would refer you to my responses in the next thread about Israel now playing by Middle Eastern rules rather than Western ones – my responses to both JS and john. I think I cover a lot of it there

Isn’t qatar….the terror state…the one ilhan elmi, alias omar was working for? There was a report some years ago which said she was *helping* ….and perhaps she still is helping….a terror state.
“Ilhan Omar a ‘Qatari asset’ who passed secrets to Iran, Florida court told”
“Ilhan Omar, the Minnesota congresswoman, has said she is the victim of Saudi propaganda after she was accused of being a “Qatari asset” and conduit to Iran during a Florida court case.
Kuwaiti-born Canadian businessman Alan Bender testified in the recent trial of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Thani, a member of the Qatari royal family who is accused of ordering his American bodyguard to murder two people and of holding an American citizen hostage. His deposition was obtained by Saudi-funded outlet Al Arabiya English, which reported the allegations Monday.”
“…According to Bender, three Qatari officials asked him to recruit American politicians to be Qatari assets. He added he was told when he objected that several people were already on the payroll, including Omar, whom they called the “jewel in the crown.”

The Qatari 747 Air Force 1 is such an epic mistake.
The two 747-200Bs (VC-25A) the 89th Airlift Wing has now will work just fine until we get the two 747-8 replacements from Boeing. The 747-200B is designed to fly for 165,000 hours, and the two we have now only have about 10,000 hours each.

Congress should simply ban the US receiving “gifts” like this from other countries, no matter whether it is to POTUS, the US Armed Forces or any other US government entity. It just corrupts our decision making process. Hopefully on this one, Dems and the GOP can come together, in both House & Senate

I also checked: of all the Gulf countries, partly due to their small population, they have the highest per capita GDP. Emirates a distant second and Kuwait a distant third. And they are the ones funding all of this
In 1990, Saddam invaded & occupied Kuwait. I’d have no issues if Bahrein were to invade and reconquer Qatar, which was previously a part of Bahrein. Execute all the al Thanis and shut down al Jazeera

Israel has the best justification for war against the Arab oil states as they have been financing, supporting and enabling terror and war against Israel for decades. Some of these states rely on foreign workers to pump the oil. I’ll wager they could be easily toppled and supplanted, sending their population back to the desert but keeping the foreign workers employed to pump the oil. This would guarantee oil stability for the USA. They would be paying reparations with land and oil. Perhaps Trump should give Israel a green light. Also, we should take a permanent US military base in Gaza so we stop relying on foreigners like Turkey and Qatar’s.
