Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has just expressed regret that his country does not have nuclear weapons. O why? In order, apparently, to be able to defend his country against the mad-dog settler-colonial ethnic-cleansing genocidal state of Israel. More on his comment, and on the angry riposte from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, can be found here: “Netanyahu accuses Spain’s Sanchez of ‘genocidal threat’ after nuclear weapons comment,” by Mathilda Heller, Jerusalem Post, September 11,
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused his Spanish counterpart of making a “blatant genocidal threat” after the latter lamented Spain’s lack of “nuclear weapons” to defend against Israel during his announcement of sanctions against the Jewish State.
In his speech on Monday, Pedro Sanchez said “Spain, as you know, doesn’t have nuclear bombs, nor aircraft carriers, nor large oil reserves. We alone can’t stop the Israeli offensive, but that doesn’t mean we won’t stop trying, because there are causes worth fighting for even if it’s not in our sole power to win them.”
Sanchez then introduced nine new measures, including a full arms embargo on Israel and a ban on imports of goods from illegal Israeli settlements.
Responding to this on Thursday, Netanyahu tweeted: “Spanish PM Sanchez said yesterday that Spain can’t stop Israel’s battle against Hamas terrorists because ‘Spain does not have nuclear weapons.’ That’s a blatant genocidal threat to the world’s only Jewish State.”
“Apparently, the Spanish Inquisition, the expulsion of the Jews of Spain and the systematic mass murder of Jews in the Holocaust, is not enough for Sanchez,” he added.
Sanchez was also criticized by other Spanish politicians, including the leader of the Vox party, Santiago Abascal, who said “ Sánchez would like to have nuclear weapons … but not to defend Spain. To defend Hamas. And surely Maduro too. Cornered tyrants always end up going mad.”
Abascal accused Sanchez of “allying with Hamas to cover up that his wife, charged with theft, is testifying before a judge this very week.”…
Sanchez’ wife is in deep trouble, now on trial for embezzlement of public funds, and the Sanchez regime has already experienced a series of corruption scandals. Abascal’s charge is very likely true: Sanchez wants to shore up his support on the left by taking a whack at Israel, hoping that his wife’s defalcations will then be overlooked.
The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) called for Sanchez’s comments to be investigated using international legal courts and treaties….
CAM asked Sanchez to apologize “unreservedly” or else “international legal courts and authorities should explore charging him with incitement to genocide.”
I doubt that either the anti-Israel International Criminal Court, or the International Court of Justice, would want to consider such a case. Pedro Sanchez will continue displaying his extraordinary anti-Israel animus — his thought seems to be “Ojalà que tuviese un bomba nuclearo” (“if I only had a nuclear bomb”) — until he is finally voted out of office, to be replaced either by the Vox Party’s Santiago Abascal or by the Partido Popular’s head, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. For many of us, that vote to remove him can’t come soon enough.

Mr. Netanyahu and the opposition leader in Spain are correct. The scoundrel knows he can’t stop Israel from destroying a terror group; but he wants to be the big man on the world’s stage, as if he would actually use those weapons to help hamas.
Would he dare use them if he had them?

Spain has had a large Muslim population for centuries. So naturally it’s PM will hate and falsely accuse Israel.
Norman Gardner Gardner says
Spain was dominated by the Moors, who were Muslims for hundreds of years and it took a war to banish them. Seems like Sanchez is backing the Moors who wish to dominate Spain once again. Thankfully the opposition leaders have morals while Sanchez does not.

The Mossad would be justified if they made Sanchez “disappear.”
James Lincoln says
Taffy,
Perhaps the Mossad could post a nice picture of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s residence – complete with GPS coordinates.
It might just get his attention.

Mister Sanchez is following the Spanish antisemitic tradition

Like he wants to bring back the Inquisition? BTW, both Jews and Muslims were lumped in together on that one, plus some early Protestants.

Good for Netanyahu for reminding Sanchez about the Spanish Inquisition, as well as the expulsion of Jews from Spain. Since nothing shames the Left more than being reminded about its evil colonial past, this one was pretty good. All of this was done in the name of Roman Catholicism, from the Inquisition to the expulsion of Jews to the execution of the Inca ruler despite the demanded ransom being paid. Say what one wants about the Aztecs and Mayas, but Spain was a pretty barbaric country, as also proven in the Thirty Years War
Talking about the holocaust, I once read somewhere years ago – I think “The Economist”, when it was still a relatively modest publication, point out that Franco’s Spain broke the model of Fascist antisemitism, and that Spain was one of the few refuges for Jews fleeing Nazi territory during the war. If that is true, then Franco turned out to be a better leader of Spain than, say, Felipe II
As I suggested yesterday, Israel can return the favor by recognizing the Basque movement as a state, but doing more. Invite Basque separatists to Israel to form an army, and then do a Normandy type landing in Barcelona. Given how disarmed most of the West is, they should be able to take that easily, and then overrun whatever parts of Spain/Catalonia that they want. It will be more real a state than “Palestine”: it’ll have territory, it will have a capital, it will have a standing army. They can add the Peseta as their new currency, rejecting the Euro, and have whatever flags, emblems, vehicle registrations, international TLDs they want. Do Israel a bunch of diplomatic favors in return, and be outside the EU, the Schengen zone and the EHRC. Then follow the policies of Poland and Hungary: no muslims allowed, and expel the ones already there to Andalusia
Speaking of Andalusia, that can be another location of a Palestinian state – Granada, Cordoba…. In fact, they can form a union w/ Morocco while they are at it

Netanyahu Responds to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez’s Deranged Desire to Nuke Israel
………………………………………………………..
Unhinged stuff from Sanchez.
Basi says
Deranged dogs like him are blind to truth. Israel should be applauded for their actions and one prays they will finally bury every pig who is Hamas and give the Palestinian people a chance t9 find peace, live without fear of retribution from Hamas.
Joseph Askew says
Let me guess, Socialuxist, Socialism for the people, luxury for him and his wife, may you be honoured to host many Hamas types in your own country. Go Israel, Jesus is your Messiah.
