Netanyahu Drops Judea and Samaria Annexation from Agenda Due to Pressure from UAE

Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel has no territorial claims against its Arab neighbors, the truth is that Judea and Samaria are hotbeds of jihad terror. Israel’s enemies repeatedly call Israel an occupier of Judea, despite the fact that the Jewish people are indigenous to the land.

The jihad against Israel has necessitated an expansion of the Jewish state’s presence in Judea and Samaria, in order to preserve its very existence. At the end of last February, the IDF discovered that Hamas was planning for a mass jihad attack in Judea and Samaria, as well as central Israel. And in mid-February, an Israeli brigadier general warned that released jihadi prisoners would wage jihad and build militias in Judea and Samaria. After the Gaza ceasefire agreement on January 19, within a month the IDF detained 380 Palestinians in Judea and Samaria. Two days after the agreement, Netanyahu “announced the start of a large-scale operation to defeat terrorism” in the city of Jenin. Days later, the operation was expanded into Tulkarm and Tubas. While the left-leaning mainstream media makes Israel out to be the aggressor, Israel is protecting its citizens from the actual aggressors: Islamic jihadis.

Also, East Jerusalem constitutes 27 squares miles of the territory of Judea and Samaria. Every nation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) supports a two-state solution with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital, including those states which normalized relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords. These conditions for a two-state solution cannot happen. The OIC has declared the Palestinian “resistance” as the central issue of the Muslim ummah, and it repeats this on a regular basis.

The Abraham Accords, which the UAE is invoking to accuse Israel of crossing a “red line,” have now become a stumbling block to Israel, which will be blamed for breaking them if Israel annexes Judea and Samaria (aka the West Bank). It is Hamas (the Islamic Resistance Movement) that crossed a red line on October 7, along with every nation that still supports Hamas (and its use of human shields) by blaming Israel for the humanitarian crisis that is the outcome of this war.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed away from putting West Bank annexation on the government’s agenda after the United Arab Emirates warned that any such move would cross a “red line” and threaten the Abraham Accords. 

The meeting, scheduled for Thursday, will instead address the deteriorating security situation in the territory as international attention turns toward possible recognition of a Palestinian state at the upcoming UN General Assembly.

According to Israeli officials, the Emirates pressed Netanyahu to abandon plans to discuss applying sovereignty to large parts of the West Bank, warning that annexation would jeopardize the normalization agreement reached in 2020. 

A senior Emirati official said the Accords would be “seriously undermined” if Israel pursued unilateral steps. The warning came just a day after Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for Israel to annex 82 percent of the territory, remarks that drew a sharp rebuke from Abu Dhabi.

Defense officials have described the West Bank as being in an explosive state, citing economic crisis and political instability, even as military operations have led to a temporary drop in attacks. They cautioned ministers that the region could “instantly erupt” if the government pushed ahead with annexation.

The pressure from the UAE adds to wider regional unease over Netanyahu’s recent comments about a “Greater Israel.” …

  1. Big mistake! Coming as he is towards the end of his political career, he should do what’s good for Israel, instead of dreaming about an ultimate agreement w/ Saudi Arabia. In fact, once Iran’s islamic regime falls, Israel’s next threats will be sunni – from Turkey & Qatar, and maybe from other neighbors as well – Jordan, Syria and Egypt

    Annexation of Judea and Samaria should remain on the agenda. The Abraham Accords required Israel to not annex them for 4 years, and that has passed. Had there been goodwill on the part of the Palis, there could have been a case for extending it. Instead, we not only had October 7th, but we also had Judea & Samaria Arabs supporting Hamas. So Israel should just downright annex that territory, and if Abu Dhabi wants to pull out of the Abraham Accords, that’s up to them

    • I’m surprised Netanyahu doesn’t regard the Abraham Accords for what they really are – nothing more than a dangerous, phony, one-sided hudna being used by the Arabs to further manipulate Israel and compromise her security, like they’re doing right now.

    Christian civilians in Al-Suwiadaa have experienced blatant violations during the latest bloody escalation in the province in July, where nearly 40 Christian families from Al-Omran roundabout and the western neighbourhood in Al-Suwaidaa city have been forced to displace, after the houses of those families were burnt down and/or looted.

    This escalation shocked the entire Syrian society in Al-Suwaidaa province, especially since it came as a part of systematic violations against minorities and forced families to displace.

    With the increasing displacement, St. Philip the Apostle church, the Evangelical church, St. Michael church in Al-Surah Al-Kubra and St. Paul church in Rudaymat Al-Liwaa have been turned into resettlement centres hosting tens of displaced Christian families.

    Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights have confirmed that at least eight churches came under attack during July’s bloody escalation in Al-Suwaidaa. The attacks included artillery fire, gunfire, burning and looting.

    Paul Church in Rudaymat Al-Liwaa.

    The Holy Cross Church in Ta’ara.

    Church of the Annunciation in Al-Mazra’a.

    George Church in Al-Duwayra

    Al-Majdal village’s church.

    Church of the Capuchin Fathers.

    The Greek Orthodox Bishopric in Al-Suwaidaa.

    This came as a part of systematic attacks targeting Christian figures with the aim of spreading panic and force Christians to displace from the province.

    The attacks also targeted the following shrines and spiritual religious councils of the Druze community:

    The Shrine of Al-Sura Al-Kaberah village.

    The Shrine of Prophet Abel in Al-Sura.

    The Shrine of Abu Abdullah Mohamed Ibn Wahb Al-Qurashi in Al-Suwaymarah.

    The Shrine of Al-Khidr in Labin.

    The Shrine of Prophet David in Al-Majdal village.

    The Religious Council in Al-Majdal village.

    The Shrine of Al-Khidr in Sami’.

    The Shrine of Al-Khidr in Najran.

    Religious Council in Haret Tarabiyah.

    The Shrine of Prophet Seth in Zukair.

    The Shrine of Sheikh Abdullah in Beit Jinn in western Rif Dimashq near Mount Hermon.

    Those violations bring to mind previous attacks that targeted joint religious figures among different sects, which mirrors efforts to stir up strife and undermine social cohesion in Al-Suwaidaa and western Rif Dimashq.

    The Syrian Observatory emphasizes that the repetition of attacks on churches and religious shrines in a short time and the forcible displacement of tens of Christian families remain an evidence of the systematic policy to clamp down on religious minorities.

    SOHR also stresses that the local authorities’ silence and inaction regarding the protection of Christian places of worship and civilians raise concerns about expanding the scope of violations and destabilize religious diversity in a province historically known for coexistence.

  3. There is a source of information that is has more wisdom than the scholars and despotic heads of State of the United Arab Emirates which reveals that what is now called “The West Bank” are actually lands of Judea and Samaria.

    That supreme source of information is the Bible, which reveals that God had given all that land to the Jewish people. This may be found in the Bible, as seen in, for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135”4.

    In other words the Jews have tall this land by Divine Right. Moreover, the Jewish people should have this land by historic rights as shown in First Kings 4:20,21, 24,25. 8:55, 56.

  4. What many people think of as the “West Bank” are the land of Judea and Samaria. by archeological and historic rights are the lands of Judea and Samaria.

    Between these two news stories, the world can be seen as upside down.

    • I don’t agree with those accords and don’t think they’d do anything for Israel, or any good for the world.

      They will always follow their prophet Mo who murdered, stole, and raped his way through the Middle East- and now his followers are doing the same.

      Anything that is peaceful in their book has been plagiarized from the Bible and Old Testament – and their Hadiths then erase it. We cannot continue to allow this Islam in our nation and lives. Honestly, after learning more about out them, even satan would be unable to beat them in ebil and barbarism and deceit.

      • I quite agree w/ you. Stopping the teaching of hatred towards infidels should be a given: it should not be contingent on any particular country ceding territory

        Also, if the Emirates chooses to end its cooperation w/ Israel should Jerusalem annex Judea and Samaria, then the latter can simply state that they won’t protect those Arabs against future Iranian attacks. That regime has yet to collapse, but might

        Also, as Robert pointed out, the day the Iranian threat is gone, there may be a resurgence of the Arab threats against Israel. In fact, I believe that the Egyptians and Jordanians have forgotten 1967, so might not hesitate to start a war. Egypt is not intervening in the civil war in Sudan, so I don’t see what their excessive military hardware is about

  6. I hope this is a temporary decision as the historic land of Judea Samaria is vastly more important than any “recognition” by Arab nations who have viewed Israel as “unacceptable” for 76 years. That land is forever and an Arab piece of paper with their signature is of such less value.Israel has not only survived without any recognition by Arab enemies but thrived since 1948. But allowing the land which according to the Bible/Torah was an inheritance from G-d to fall into the hands of the worse enemy of Israel since the Nazi period is and will be unforgivable.

    Of all the people on earth who are less deserving of a nation, the Palestinians rank number one. There never was such a nation other than Israel itself which was renamed by the Roman Empire after their difficult conquest was finally completed. The renaming was a punishment meant to deny the word “Israel” to continue and to erase it from History. Which is also a quest of the so called Palestinians. I say “so called” because this conglomeration of different Arab tribes from peoples adjacent to the land of Israel never even referred to themselves as Palestinians until the mid 1960’s when Arafat returned from his training in the Soviet Union with instructions for the people to begin using the term Palestinian for themselves so the Soviets could use terminology like “The Palestinian Liberation Front” which was the term used
    ( The ___________ Liberation Movement” ) to identify those places which were going through a period of de-colonialization from their European Imperialist nations. There never was any Palestine in the way it is used by those who wish to destroy Israel use that name.

    The various Arab peoples now called “Palestinians” have no use for the term “Palestine” as the place called Palestine was a barren wasteland except for a very fertile are in Judea. Worthless in the eyes of Arabs. Also the place called Palestine had no Muslim history to speak for it. Its History was mainly Jewish from the time of King David who built Jerusalem.

    Also the fact that Jews did call themselves “Palestinians” throughout the 19th century and before was another reason as what self respecting Arab would adopt a word defining him or her that a Jew uses to define themselves? The Arabs preferred “Southern Syrians” as Damascus had value and Arab history and was respected in the Arab world. The claim of Mohammed ascending to Heaven was made many years after his death. The whole meaning of Jerusalem for Muslims was back dated including the building of the al-Aska Mosque. There is disagreement as to whether the present al-Aqsa Mosque was originally built by the Umayyad caliph Abd al-Malik ( r. 685–705) or his successor, his son al-Walid I ( r. 705–715).
    That is why despite claiming Jerusalem is the “third holiest city in Islam” there is no real significance for Muslims like there is for Mecca. Hence, Palestine meant little to a Muslim….until Jews claimed it.

      The OIC has oversight in the UN and EU! I just discovered it and need to do more thorough investigation but some of these privileges are concerning.

      They also have offices in DC and from what I’ve unveiled so far – they look very dangerous, Why does the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have to have an office and over site at the UN and EU?

      Here’s one of the problems with them. They open what may be HUNDREDS of “groups” to inject themselves in our nation., and I’m working finding out as many as I can.

      This thing called Islam must be eradicated. That’s not a flippant remark, but only after studying them now as well as their history!

      • I’d root for Itamar Ben-Gvir, who has restored praying near the Western wall, lives near Hebron and unlike Netanyahu, is less likely to bend to the whims of Western leaders, including Trump! Since he actually lives in Kiryat Arba. Bibi is aging: I hope the Likud led coalition can get behind Ben-Gvir (even if he ain’t in Likud himself) and undo the damage that Israel has done signing all those stupid accords under both Rabin and Netanyahu

        Yeah, had I been an Israeli voter, that would have been my choice. His rift w/ Bella Hadid is icing on the cake

        • Maybe, Infidel–but I’m not sure that Itamar Ben-Gvir has the brad support that Natanyahu has.

        • Graven, nobody might, but given that Israel has dozens of parties – unlike our 2 – they have to form coalitions. Ben-Gvir could convince all the Likud-bloc parties – particularly in the context of the jihad bombing in Jerusalem earlier this week – that he’s the best candidate to safeguard the interests of Jews in Judea and Samaria, since he actually lives there! Netanyahu lives in Caesarea and is now a bit in a Trump mode: while Trump wants a Nobel, Netanyahu wants to sign an Abraham Accord w/ Riyadh (which won’t happen as long as King Salman is still alive). That gives Bibi an incentive to make unwise concessions, which Ben-Gvir won’t do, given that he would be directly impacted by any such decisions

Israel should annex every territory that belongs to Israel while Trump is President, and Israel should ban Islam, its Mosques, its Schools, its Islamic Centers, etc. for funding, teaching, and promoting discrimination, violence, and terrorism against Non-Muslims, especially Israelis. Islam’s Muslims are not peaceful and happy, but Muslims are terroristic, violent, and discriminatory against Israel and all Non-Muslims as taught in Islam’s Quran(Quran 9:5, 29, 111, etc.).

    EVERY Muslim prayer begins with Quran 1:1-, cursing Jews and Christians 15+ times a day. Demonic Allah in Quran 5:51 says, “O you who have believed[Muslims], DO NOT TAKE the Jews and the Nasara(Christians) as friends. They are friends to one another. And whoever among you takes them as friends, so surely he is of them. Surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.” See also Quran 2:63-65; 3:115; 4:144; 5:59-60, 82; 7:166.

    Moreover, Allah in Qur’an 8:39 says, “And engage in war with them[Non-Muslims] until there will not be sedition and the religion will be completely to Allah…”. Allah desires to fill hell with Non-Muslims because they DO NOT ACCEPT Islam to become Muslims(Quran 7:18; 11:119; 32:13, 35:8, etc.).

  11. Is this, yet another version of, “Land for Peace”?

    In terms of the Abraham Accords what does Israel get
    that equals the security value of annexing Judea and Samaria?

    Israel gets diplomacy, trade and tourism with low value muslim
    countries like Sudan and Morocco ?

    Who wants Muslims coming to Israel as tourists?
    Muslim who, by their own “holy book”, hate Jews.

    Does anyone on this site understand what Netanyahu is doing?

    • In my mind, the “accords” are like a one-way street…..muzzies get stuff and Israel gets the shaft….or the chaff. There is certainly no security for Israel. During the past two years, most if not all of the arab and other muzzie nations have threatened Israel or they helped hamas, houtiis, and hezbolah in their terror.

      I have never really been a fan of the Abraham Accords. Yeah, Emirates and Bahrein signing it, and agreeing to start trade w/ Israel was good, but that’s where it starts – and ends. The main gain for Israel was that some Arab countries gathered the courage to not just recognize them a la Egypt & Jordan, but also normalize relations w/ them. Emirates and Saudi Arabia no longer teach hatred of Jews, so that’s an improvement

      However, I don’t see the point of Israeli tourists in any of those countries, or Arab tourists in Israel. No point. I also don’t see the trade value either: Israel’s economy right now is doing quite well and its stock index has skyrocketed despite the war – which it didn’t for US in either Afghanistan nor Iraq. I also don’t see what either country has to offer the other: Israel now has Levantine oil, which should satisfy their energy needs, and eliminate their having to import it from anyone. Not sure whether Israelis would have a major interest going to Dubai for just grand shopping or seeing Burj Khalifa. Or what Emiratis will find in Israel: their preferences might have been Europe, except that now, for them, it will be like visiting Algeria or Syria

      Israel has fulfilled its original commitment to the Emirates not to annex Judea & Samaria. Now it should declare those commitments expired, and annex them. If Abu Dhabi wants to walk back on those accords (which really didn’t deserve to be named after “Abraham”), let them! Not a big loss to Israel
