Notice that those who were insulting the Hindu deities were not arrested. Only the person who criticized Muhammad and the Qur’an was arrested. This was not in Pakistan. This was in India.

On Friday, September 12, a mob of Islamic fundamentalists hurled abuses against Hindu Gods and Goddesses over an allegedly contentious social media post on Prophet Muhammad and the Quran. The mob surrounded the local police station, raised slogans of ‘Hand over the accused’ and ‘Allahu Akbar,’ plunging the area into tension.
A huge uproar broke out in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, on the evening of Friday, 12th September, with abuses hurled against Hindu Gods and Goddesses over a controversial social media post. According to the media reports, the post had comments on Prophet Mohammad and the Quran, following which a mob of Islamic fundamentalists surrounded the local police station, raising slogans of ‘Hand over the accused’ and ‘Allahu Akbar,’ plunging the area into tension.
Although the police acted swiftly and arrested the accused, the ruckus continued for three hours. Some anti-social elements took advantage of the crowd and tried to spoil the atmosphere further. With repeated attempts to calm the crowd failing, police were eventually forced to disperse the mob with a lathi charge.
On Friday, September 12, around 6:30 pm, a social media user posted a contentious remark on Prophet Muhammad and the Quran. The post sparked anger in the Muslim community, and in retaliation, some youths allegedly made derogatory comments against Hindu gods and goddesses.
Later, Qasim Raza, a member of the local Idgah Committee, alerted the police about the incident. Tension escalated as anger spread in the Muslim community, with anti-social elements further inflaming the situation. Outside the police station, chants of ‘Hand over the accused’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’ grew louder, as the mob turned more aggressive and even attempted to storm the station to seize the accused.
The police took immediate action and registered an FIR against the accused and arrested him. Despite this, the situation did not calm down, and the crowd surrounded the police station. To control the situation, the police first tried to explain and called the maulanas of the Muslim community to control the situation, but people did not listen.
After this, the police had to resort to a lathi charge. Following the police action, a stampede ensued, and people began running in all directions. The situation calmed down after three hours….
A lathi is a stick police in India use as a weapon.

Yes, the 1948 split has been a failure, leaving India with a sizable nuclear-armed enemy next door, one inside with periodic rioting, and periodic clashes in Kashmir.
Maybe I should have asked the question differently – If a multi-state solution for India has led to a nuclear standoff, why would a two-state solution for Israel not develop into the same, supported and armed by enemies of Israel? It doesn’t require too much imagination to think both Pakistan and Iran might provide expertise.

One correction to something you seemed to imply: India did not have nukes in 1948. It conducted its first nuclear test in 1974 and second one in 1998, the latter coincidental w/ Pakistan. Actually, as a former Indian, I always thought that India needed/needs to be a nuclear power to counter China, rather than Pakistan, regardless of whether or not the latter had nukes. But now, they both do
As per Wiki, it was Canada and the US that provided India nuclear material for a plant, and part of it was turned into a weapons program. Today, India does segregate the nuclear programs of their military from their power generation programs. Haven’t heard much about their Thorium project, though

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply nuclear capabilities right after partition. Neither nation had them. I was meaning the partition didn’t result in peace, instead, after years of confrontation, it led to an eventual MAD standoff. They like to rattle their nukes, but won’t take the risk.

Actually, India took the risk earlier this year, when it bombed both jihadist camps of the groups that killed the tourists in Kashmir, and also some Paki military installations. Not only did Pakistan not have a nuclear response: they were scared when India bombed Sargoda, thinking it would damage some of their nukes. The MAD theory doesn’t work b/w those 2 countries, and Indian analysts have concluded that Pakistan would only use them if Islamabad itself was threatened

Why don’t you guys consider separating parts, like around bengal and wherever else they are, into Muslim states. Wouldn’t that help.
They can live under Islamic law, and Indias Hindus can go their own way.
Or are they too dispersed to make it happen. I feel like long term, there will be Islamic enclaves, areas or states that will demand autonomy for Islamic institutions.
It’s natural every separate peoples within a state will want more of their own autonomy and ideas implemented.

Yea I get your point. But it’s just an idea, because long term, Muslims will spread out more across India. Taking over small villages, parts of cities etc.
Hindus could find themselves in a bad place with a growing Muslim population, plus a continuing flood of unknown Bangladeshis, and massive influx of gulf cash buying left and right.
Muslims also have advantages, because a segment of Hindus supports Muslims. Left wing. I’ve met them personally. So a civil war isn’t as clear cut as Hindus vs Muslims. It will be all our chaos, gulf world wide Muslim support.

They are literally encroaching yard by yard, they just show up , build a house on your land. Then a mosque, then a community of Muslims. Then they take your kid, and then they make you move next village over.
I read that gulf Muslims are financing Muslims marriages to Hindu women. A Bangladeshi migrant man, married an additional wife in India, and an imam organized it for him paying with money from Saudi sponsors.
Hindu farmers get in debt. Muslims show up with gulf cash. If the left takes back India, there will be a flood of cash to change demographics.
So to save Hindu population, It’s reasonable to contain them and give them a country?

It more or less is the same. Indian Muslims were allowed to remain after the partition. Though now only 14% of India they still do not integrate into a nation. Just as in the West, Muslims build exclusive communities or no-go zones that are inhospitable to anyone not conforming to Islamic rules. When large enough the group can take over a city through the ballot box. Here in the US, the intolerant Mayor of Dearborn comes to mind as an image of a city being lost to Islam.
It seems obvious that justice in India can be influenced by Muslim threats.
Is this the Achilles Heel of Democracy – it can allow a political power to gain control during a temporary populist attitude swing, and then be replaced by tyranny?

The chief justice of India’s supreme court, no less, mockingly asked the petitioner to pray to the deity to have his head restored. Those remarks caused national outrage, and many challenged him to dare say anything even close about muslims, and then see what happens
That’s why I believe the Indians need to take their cue from Nepal. A couple of weeks ago, videos of Nepal’s communist elites enjoying a cushy life were circulating, and that caused outrage in a country where ordinary people are plagued by poverty. There were instant riots, forcing the resignation of their prime minister, and the campaign goes on for a return to the monarchy. Corruption much worse is there in India, and Indians need to take their cues from their neighbor to their north

Justice takes a backseat to order in India. There’s masses of powerless people. The rich don’t want any disruptions. Grab whoever you need to grab, so we can keep making money and keep everyone in their place.
Muslims play the Indian system very well from what I’ve read. Hindus have always been easily manipulated by the left and Islamic interests into settlements with Muslims on many small things.
You should really look into land jihad in India. It doesn’t even sound real.
Basically Muslim foreigners or out of towners appear and begin building in places near Islamic institutions. They then claim they found a paper that says Muslims owned the land they just built their house on 400 years ago, and some caliph left it to the Muslim ummah as a gift.
There’s some wild laws in India that grant these rights.
Just imagine you have a larger property 100 acres, and you stumble on a family of Bangladeshis with a shack built and they claim caliph aurganzeb left them half your property, and some imam shows up with some lunatic lawyers.
I immediately thought this was a bunch of radical Hindu propaganda, ridiculous stuff. But it turned out to be true.
There’s a whole another land jihad on government owned land. They’ll just build up there and steal it.

And while India has its own specific issues, Britain and many European nations also often arrest the victims of Jihad terror–supposdly to “keep the peace”, although they are not dsturbing it. This is why Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller were banned from Britain.
