Offhand, I’d say “nothing.” They entered the U.K. illegally. They are lawbreakers. Why should they be given anything other than an order to deport? But that would be logical, and today, in the U.K., a topsy-turvy order prevails, where the indigenous British are forced to support illegal migrants, almost all of them Muslim, and even to shell out huge sums to compensate those illegals for having not been provided with a level of comfort in their detention centers to which left-wing judges believe they are entitled. Why was their detention unlawful? What rights do these illegals have even to remain in the U.K.? Shouldn’t they have been deported immediately upon their arrival on British shores, as Nigel Farage of the Reform Party has promised he will do, sending them back to their countries of origin?
Nearly 200 migrants who illegally crossed the English Channel in small boats from the beaches of France have filed a joint lawsuit against the Home Office, claiming that they were subjected to “inhumane” conditions at the Manston asylum centre near Dover.
Remember: these illegals came to the U.K. No one made them do so. No one in Britain, save fellow Muslims (these migrants are overwhelmingly Muslim), wanted them to come. They are lawbreakers. They are economic migrants, hoping to be supported by the taxpayers in what Robert Spencer describes as “shattered, staggering, dhimmi Britain.”
The illegals have claimed that the former military base accommodation was overcrowded and unclean with outbreaks of disease as well as instances of sexual assaults and physical abuse, The Daily Telegraph reported.
That’s what happens when you house a large number of people in dormitories, in former barracks. Some get sick. Some transmit diseases. What should the government do — have a hospital and Harley Street doctors on site, ready to treat them? As for “sexual assaults and physical abuse,” these come from the illegals themselves, not from the handful of security guards who try to maintain, under trying conditions, a semblance of order among these often violent males who are angry that they haven’t been given the accommodations to which they bizarrely think they are entitled.
Each migrant could receive £500 for every day they were determined to have been unlawfully detained at the centre, although this figure could increase depending on the judges’ decision in the case.
500 pounds a day is a colossal sum. And we are told “that amount could go up.” Why should anything be paid to illegal migrants? By rights, it is they who should be paying for their own upkeep until they are deported.
While only around 200 have so far been added to the claim, around 18,000 migrants were at some point housed at Manston, a different detention center from Brook House, but about which similar complaints have been made. The bill to the British taxpayer could rise further.
Similar cases brought forward before Britain’s left-wing judiciary have been successful. For example, last October, a migrant won £203,995 in damages from the state after being unlawfully detained and allegedly being subjected to inhumane treatment at the Brook House deportation centre.
How can an “illegal migrant” be “unlawfully detained”? It is he who has broken the law by coming to the country. Why would detaining him, to make sure he doesn’t manage to slip away into the general population, perhaps never to be seen again, ever be “unlawful”?
These are far-left judges who have taken leave of their senses. An illegal migrant is awarded 204,000 pounds, which is very likely more than what he would earn at home during his entire life. Some, or most, of the 18,000 other illegals who stayed at Manston House may be eligible for similar sums. Do the math, and we have the British taxpayer on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars to people who have broken the law and have no business being in the U.K.
The latest case will reportedly be based mainly on appeals to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) which Britain remains bound by despite leaving the EU with Brexit, as the ECHR is technically a separate institution from the bloc, even though it is so closely aligned that it shares the same flag, anthem, and even the same campus as the EU Parliament in Strasbourg….
Why, after Brexit, do successive British governments continue to be bound by the ECHR? Isn’t the ECHR effectively part of the EU, sharing the same flag, anthem, and “campus” as the EU Parliament? Why does the U.K. not make a clean break with the EU, especially since the ECHR has a record of blocking so many deportations of “rapists, murderers, and terrorists”? Given what adhering to the ECHR has meant for the long-suffering British, surely it’s time to stop being bound by its strictures, that have prevented so many criminals from being deported..
Another item in favor of Nigel Farage and the Reform Party: he will withdraw from the ECHR and stiffen the immigration laws to make it easier to swiftly deport the illegals, so many of whom are now wreaking havoc in Great Britain.
There needs to be a sea change in how illegal migrants are treated in the U.K. They should be deported immediately upon arrival, without any need for a hearing. The law doesn’t allow for it, you say? Then change the law. That’s what the mother of parliaments is for. If, for some reason, these illegals need to be detained for a brief period, it ought to be made clear that they cannot sue the government for any reason.

The goal is to also for the male to bring over relatives, like sick parents or wife and children over as asylum seekers by flight. All of the new housing is going to migrants in the UK. If you are a landlord, you do not want to deal with native Brits on an income that may lose their job or fall into hardship. You want to stack Muslims and get guaranteed rent paid.
The government is scrambling to find migrants free apartments so the landlords are juicing them, a regular workin person can’t afford that that. Not to mention social housing. To make matters worse, housing is severe shortage. Muslims are guaranteed as asylum seeker a place to stay, the very least a free hotel. I hear they prefer hotels near schools. Is there a reason why the migrants should not be required to clean their own quarters? It is not as if they are being asked to support themselves in any other way (and to my mind, they should work for their keep, and have part of the proceeds set aside for their return to their countries of origin).
Given that young people studying in the UK subsist on student loans, monies granted to migrants should also take the form of a loan, unless earned by them.
