In Germany, the desire to make up for that messy little business of the Holocaust — gosh, why can’t people let bygones be bygones? — has had its run, having lasted about a half-century since the end of World War II. Now it’s back to Jew-hatred for some Germans, disguised as a principled stand against colonial-settler ethnic-cleansing genocidal Israel, for all the supposedly terrible things it is doing in Gaza. Last I looked, the main thing the Israelis were doing in Gaza, aside from striking Hamas terrorists in their last lair of Gaza City, was delivering 175 million meals to hungry civilians, without Hamas being able to steal any of it.
Now a German judge has praised one of those Israel-haters; he’s all in with her chanting “from the river to the sea/Palestine will be free,” which, properly understood, is a call for the destruction of the Jewish state and its replacement by a 23rd Arab state.
More on this judge can be found here: “A Berlin magistrate praises an Israel hatred for her hatred,” translated from “Ein Berliner Amtsrichter lobt eine Israelhasserin für ihren Hass,” by Josef Kraus, Tichys Einblick, September 27, 2025 (thanks to Medforth):
Most recently, Yasemin Acar (38), a self-confessed Israel hater, repeatedly chanted ‘From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free’ in public in Berlin between February 17 and July 24, 2024. She was acquitted for this. She was only punished for attacking police officers and defamation. For this, she received a penalty of 120 daily fines of 15 euros each (1,800 euros in total). Already in the courtroom and then on the street, she celebrated the outcome of the trial with like-minded people. Following an appeal by the public prosecutor’s office, the case and the acquittal have now been referred to the regional court.
But the most surprising thing so far is that Judge Philipp Berkholz from the Berlin-Tiergarten District Court, who is obliged to remain impartial, had previously said during the trial: ‘I have great respect for what you are doing. You probably speak for a lot of people. You stand by what you have done.’
Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor is appalled: ‘Anyone who stands shoulder to shoulder with terrorist sympathisers, who attacks police officers and cheers Iranian missile attacks deserves many things, but not respect. Burkard Dregger, justice and police expert in the Berlin House of Representatives: ‘This is not the way to deter copycat crimes. Volker Beck, head of the German-Israeli Society, is calling for consequences: ‘Showing respect to a defendant who insults police officers and chants slogans calling for the destruction of Israel disqualifies this judge.’…
Does “judicial independence” include praising terrorist sympathizers who attack the police?
In the meantime, retired judge Thomas Walther has filed a disciplinary complaint against Judge Philipp Berkholz. However, nothing has happened so far.
Let’s hope that the retired judge has a chance to have his disciplinary complaint against Judge Philipp Berkholz, who is full of praise for Yasemine Acar because she stands up for what she believes in, and what she believes in — and chanted in public for 120 days straight — is an end to the Jewish state. One might have thought the judge would be careful about expressing such views during the trial of the woman he was praising. What happened to judicial neutrality? And of course, we all know of the historical hell in the background of the proceeding, with that German judge, and the appalling praise he provides for the Muslim defendant’s hatred for the Jewish state — isn’t there a bit of the not-so-distant past he should remember? But you’d be wrong in the case of Judge Philipp Berkholz. So let us hope that the disciplinary complaint lodged against him by a retired judge, Thomas Walther, clearly a man of principle, is not simply ignored — it hasn’t been acted on yet — but taken seriously.

As a nation Germany has always been self-conscious about Israel, and maintained good relations with it. Germany has, for example, not so far joined the club of Western leaders lining up to reward Hamas for the massacre of October 7th by recognizing Palestine.
But I guess there’s no accounting for every magistrate, some of whom, not to put too fine a point on it, are jackasses.

Most Germans stand with Muslims. And also stand the Germans in a vast majority with Palestine.
AFD was handily defeated by not winning one single seat in German elections a few days ago. More Muslims gained seats than AFD.
There is however a growing groups of Germans who are anti Islam, but the risk is very great to talk openly. The whole bureaucracy will come down on you, packed with Muslims.
If they stick you with Muslims in your apartment you either hand it over to the migrant or move out. You heard that correctly. They can stick them in with you, HOUSING SHORTAGES!
2018 German public broadcaster (ZDF) children’s program called Logo!, which featured a 20-year-old Syrian refugee named Mohammad (also reported as a fan of radical Islamic preachers in some outlets) discussing his life in Germany. In the segment, he openly talks about his “girlfriend,” who was underage at the time (around 15 years old), describing their relationship in a sexual, romanticized way that included details like meeting her at a language class and spending time together.

The Holocaust isn’t something in “the not so distant past”.
The 1944 conspirators who tried to assassinate Hitler believed they were doing something to assert the good name of the German people in the face of the most terrible crime in human history.
Which, they believed, would never, ever, be effaced from Germany.
