More fraying of the leftist-Islamic alliance. Whatever one thinks of the flying of gay flags, imagine the outcry if an all-Christian city council had banned the flag. But this will pass largely unnoticed.

A federal judge has upheld a ban on gay pride flags after a years-long battle by an all-Muslim city council to remove the rainbow because it did not reflect their community’s values.
The court found that Hamtramck, an enclave surrounded by Detroit with a significant Muslim immigrant population, did not violate the US Constitution when it banned the flag from public buildings in 2023.
After a pride flag was flown in the city during Pride Month in 2021 and 2022, the city council said it clashed with the beliefs of some residents, so they voted to allow only five flags to be flown on publicly-owned property.
US District Judge David Lawson, who was appointed by Bill Clinton, dismissed a lawsuit that was brought against the city for its flag restrictions, saying the ban was okay because the policy targeted all private flags.
‘Hamtramck’s refusal to display the Gay Pride flag did not violate the Constitution,’ the judge said.
Hamtramck has a population of around 27,000, and more than 40% of its residents are immigrants. A large proportion of them are Muslim with Yemeni or Bangladeshi descent….

In no small measure Henry Ford happened to Michigan. Ford, a Jew hater of longstanding, backed his beliefs by importing Arab workers. Small in number at first, these Arabs are giving proof to Qaddafi’s boast that Arab wombs would conquer Europe. Look at today. An all Muzzie city council. Predictably it will worsen.

Christian or conservative town most likely won’t ban a gay pride flag even though it may be against the gay lifestyle. But the left is a lot more hostile toward the Christian conservatives than toward the Islamists.
So, Christianity must be the main enemy for both the left and the Islamists because Christianity is not evil unlike the leftism and Islam.

I wonder whether non-muslim GOP mayors and other leaders can use this as a precedent to ban 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 flags on public property. Maybe this can be driven all the way to SCOTUS, and if they reverse it, then not just everyone else, but Hamtramck too will have to reverse its ban
Actually, this is a rare case where I agree w/ the muslim decision. Just that there is no way any non-muslim civic body would have dared pull it off, due to a militant Leftist backlash, but in this case, there are thugs on both sides

That’s fine. It didn’t ban private flags on private property.
The problem seems to be with fifth item below.
What does “international character of the community” mean?
The council only flys 5 flags on City property and flag poles:
American flag
State flag
City flag
POW flag
and flags that represent the international character of the community.
I couldn’t find anything about what the city council meant by
“international character of community” flags.
I can guess, but until they fly one, we don’t have proof.
That is where the battle will be.
