Why should one of the “best of people” (Qur’an 3:110) apologize to one of the “most vile of created beings” (Qur’an 98:6)?
“Dearborn mayor refuses to apologize for telling Christian minister he was ‘not welcome here,'” by Jasmine Baehr, Fox News, September 24, 2025:
At Dearborn, Michigan’s first city council meeting since his clash with a local Christian minister went viral after a heated exchange over a controversial honorary street sign naming, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud declined to apologize for his saying the minister was “not welcome here” and that he would “launch a parade” when he left town.
Ted Barham, the same Christian minister, opened his remarks at Tuesday’s meeting by repeating the words that went viral at the previous one on Sept. 9.
“The mayor, in a way, cursed me, as was seen around the world. And I would like to repeat what I said that day to you, Mr. Mayor: ‘God bless you,’” Barham said.
Barham said he had no plans to file a lawsuit despite pressure from supporters.
“People have been saying I should do that all over the world. I have no intention of doing that,” Barham said.
Instead, he urged the council to consider his larger message: “Bless those who curse you… love your haters. And I would say that in regard to Hezbollah as well. I would [say] that in regard to Mr. Siblani and I would [say] to Israel, too. ‘Love your haters.’”
He then made a new appeal.
“Would it be possible for you, Mayor Hammoud, in front of the world and council members to join me in saying we would like to put out a Christian call to prayer and a Christian call to faith in all the countries around the world where an Islamic call to prayer goes out?”…
Hoi Polloi says
Of course he won’t apologize. His intent is to do much worse than that, and very soon.

Yes. Muslims are terrorists for Allah with their MONEY and with their LIVES. Allah in Qur’an 49:15 says, “Surely the believers[Muslims] are only those who believed in Allah and his messenger. They do not doubt, and they performed jihad with their MONEY and their LIVES for the sake of Allah. Those are the truthful.” Allah in Quran 4:101 says, “…Surely the infidels(Non-Muslims) were your clear enemies.”
Billy says
Allah hates Christians, the lowest of his creatures as revealed in the Quran. Quran 98:6-7 says, “6 Surely those who became infidels, from the People of the Book[J * w s and Christians] and polytheists, will abide in the fire of hell forever. Those are the worst of the creatures(See also Quran 8:55). 7 Surely those who believed[Muslims] and did good deeds, those are the best of the creatures.”
Allah claims hatred in Christians when Quran 5:14 says, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the resurrection day. And Allah will inform them of what they were doing.”

A famous Jew once said…”Overcome evil with good….” HE now has billions of followers because HE demonstrated the command worldwide when HE accepted the title of Savior, entering 11,000 degrees Fahrenheit to pay your penalty and mine for every sin ever committed by all humanity, a gift available just for the asking. Have you asked HIM to save you from what you know to be wrong in your life ? HE will give you a new heart, one ready to follow and obey, full of life, love and the excitement of being in HIS presence forever. You will forever be grateful you did.

Jesus was talking to fellow Jews who value life and society and the world and other people’s lives, not Islamic terrorists who love torturing and murdering other people. Did the Crusaders love their Islamic enemies and capitulate to them, or did they fight to the death to prevent Islam from conquering Europe….? Unlike now.
Tim gallagher says
I agree and not only the Christian crusaders went to war, a very just war, with the Muslims, but mostly Christians smashed the Nazis and the Japanese in world war two, another just war. Turning the other cheek is a disaster when dealing with Muslims. Of course best approach is to refuse to let Muslims in in the way the Christians in Hungary and Poland do. I am a Christian but I say we are at war with Muslims and should very tough with this enemy. We should ban Islam from all non Muslim countries. That is what Muslims deserve
gravenimage says
Spot on, Tim.
Tim gallagher says
Thanks, gravenimage. I guess it will never but I would love Islam banned from all non Muslim countries. Hungary and Poland are showing what should be done. I admire them greatly for what they have done.
Mell says
Tim,
Slovakia and the Czech Republic can also provide inspiration for solutions. Slovakia is fighting the spread of Islam, seeing it as a danger to Slovak Catholics :
Fico declared : “Islam has no place in Slovakia. And SNS Chairman Andrej Dankosaid declared : “Islamization starts with a kebab and it’s already under way in Bratislava, let’s realize what we can face in five to ten years…we must do everything we can so that no mosque is built in the future.”
The Czech Republic tends to view Islam as totalitarianism.
These countries remember history and have Western European countries as bad examples.
Tim gallagher says
Good on the Czechs and the slovakians, mell. They have the right approach to islam without a doubt. I just remembered that Burma threw their Muslims out a few years ago. I don’t know why almost everybody, including our dopey western leaders have not not woken up to Islam’s evil nature by now.
Mell says
There’s also China, which considers Islam a mental illness. And if I’m not mistaken, there’s a ban or very strict surveillance of Islam in the following countries: North Korea, Cuba, Laos, Angola, Andorra, Myanmar, and Bhutan. We are not alone.
Otherwise, I think most of our leaders know that Islam is bad, but in Europe, there’s media censorship of Islam; the media has to present it as “good” because of oil. Our countries made very bad deals with Muslim countries, they gave in to their blackmail during the oil crisis, and they also accepted that their immigrants wouldn’t integrate and that they would maintain their beliefs; all of this is documented.
Wasn’t there the same oil problem in the United States? French researcher Alain Wagner revealed this story: in 1973, the Syrian-Egyptians lost a war against Israel. Following this defeat, they decided, along with the oil-producing countries, to classify countries as enemies or friends, depending on their support for Israel. And the United States was classified as an enemy. Then, they quadrupled the price of oil to blackmail and impose their conditions on the countries that bought their oil.
Tim gallagher says
I suspect that, for a lot of countries, including Australia where I live, oil might be the big issue, mell. If we stopped letting Muslims in then the Muslims could stop selling us oil and down the drain our economy would go. For Australia and all other countries where we are China is going be our biggest threat. A huge bully for sure.
Kuffar says
What’s happening in France and the UK, WILL happen in the US, No go zones, Sharia Law courts, Muslim police enforcing honor codes. Hell, It’s already happening in Dearborn Mi. These traitors in our midst need to be wiped out and expelled, I don’t care if they are naturalized or natural born. A traitor is worse than an enemy. Start with Omar.
Mell says
Unfortunately, yes, it can happen in the United States, because our laws cannot protect us from the methods of Muslims: Muslims manipulate, intimidate, threaten, oppress, attack, terrorize and take control of territories in our “democratic” societies. Democracy is not a problem for them, it is even an opportunity for them since they are treated equally with others while they consider them inferior. Their voice, their opinion, counts as much as those of others. And Justice generally only intervenes once the damage is done, once they have committed crimes and are well established. And they do not care about prison or death, the sentences do not deter them.
There are countries that manage to prevent them from causing harm; they do not use laws and do not expect anything from their state or the police: the population imposes itself, physically, and makes them understand that they are undesirable.

This is why we lose. Christians throw out misapplied Bible verses to excuse their inaction to protect their community against evil. We are to fight evil and expose darkness. Not just quote a Bible verse and let evil slide.

If this POS were not Muslim, but Christian or Jewish or Hindu or Bahai or whatever, would we accept these words? I don’t think so. But since this POS is Muslim we accept it. If this POS could kill the pastor legall, he might just do it. America, wake up!
James Lincoln says

I believe Jesus would have said to this scummy dross, “You are from your father the devil and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began and he does not stand fast in the Truth; because the Truth is not in him.”
He might even call the scummy dross a “whitewashed grave, dirty cup, and snake, son of vipers.”
Asking that God “bless” this scummy goon, supporter of terrorism and terrorists, is something not supported by Scripture. Calling on God to give the goon a change of heart or to lift his blindness, is one thing; calling for God to “bless” him after his evil words and threats, is another.
For me, I wouldn’t even consider asking God to “bless” this evil creature.
Remember God’s words to Abraham. “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.”
God feels the same about those who follow His Son as He does about Abraham.
Hoi Polloi says
Agreed. The US cannot and should never bless this curse on future generations. He did counter with the point that no muslim country grants Christians freedom, but making that point is nothing in the face of worldwide genocide of Christians.

55% known Muslim polulation in Dearborn. Maybe another 10% – 20% illegals? This city is the US Poster Child for Islam. One would think CAIR would advise the Mayor to work on good relations rather than the attitude of, “it’s our town now…, get out!”
DV says
One thing all reasonable people can be appreciative to the Islamic mayor for is revealing his true Islamic beliefs and attitudes as they actually are and not how too many people want them to be. The same goes for Omar.
By its nature, Islam is not only barbaric, but also exceedingly arrogant in its firm belief that Islam and its laws are superior, and that the laws of any country that are not Sharia can be ignored.
It is long past time that many Muslims in this country get deported for their failure to abide by the US Constitution and other laws of the United States, and for the politicians in this country to put more laws into place that make it easier for such deportations based on any practices that promote Islamic beliefs and do not adhere to constitutional principles.

I see the same confusion within the Church of my country among priests : love our enemies, yes, but that does not mean that we should let our enemies do whatever they want, lie, kill or invade a country. Because we are responsible for the society and the country in which we live and for our families and we have the right to self-defense. If we do not defend our country, we are failing in the commandment that tells us to respect our father and mother, our ancestors, those who built our country. Before, we had the crusaders for whom things were clear, what has happened since? Why have some Christians become so confused and so foolish? What is this Christianity without land, without country, without identity and without incarnate reality that is taught?
John Herlihy says
I agree 100%! We need a muscular Christianity again. Not afraid to speak the truth, defend our faith, ourselves, loved ones, innocents. It is Biblical to defend ourselves from slaughter.
I do not believe Christ would want us to just stand by, watch our loved one’s raped, tortured, murdered, enslaved, and do nothing. Muslims would love for us to “turn the other cheek” which is a verse that MANY Christians have never bothered to research thoroughly or apply context to exactly what Christ meant by this phrase.

Chrissy says
Yes, he’s playing the Christians with their own dogma. First he’s referring to “co-existence”, and now he is playing the principles “forgiveness” and “love thy neighbor”. and “turn the other cheek”. All those lovely concepts.
All of it with great contempt and condescence. Because these concepts are not his.
And btw, these concepts cost the Romans their empire, it was the ruin of what was called “virtus”, virtue, in Latin.
It IS indeed a weak point of Christianity.
I am a Celtic heathen. We fortunately have no such ideas and our teachings say that any attack on a fatherland is answered hard, quickly and without mercy. .

Christianity has no “weak point.” Anyone who thinks it does, doesn’t know or understand Christ Jesus and His teaching.
Jesus told anyone who heard Him to and expressed the desire to follow Him, “consider the cost.” Because there s a large *cost* to being Christian; but it’s worth everything one must endure.
There are no “weak points.”
somehistory says
The Roman Empire fell due to the disgusting perversions in which the residents indulged. It had nothing to do with Christian teachings. Christianity doesn’t teach “co-existence” as a “dogma,” either.
James wrote that Christians “keep oneself without spot from the world.”
You have no idea of what Christianity is all about.
Mell says
Christianity does indeed recognize peoples, their identity, their nations, and their right to exist and defend themselves.
Charity does exist, but charity has an order: first towards Christians and one’s own country. And those who enter the country must also respect the host people and country and, of course, not cause any trouble; we’re a long way from that. This welcome is also normally considered temporary.
And for Rome, Christianity helped them overcome barbarian invasions and establish a just regime that emerged with the condemnation of a massacre of innocents.
But I understand what Chrissy is saying: there’s a whole propaganda out there that tends to make people believe that Christianity is weak and doesn’t care about justice, and some Christians also believe this propaganda.
somehistory says
Just where does Jesus say , “co-existence”? If anyone had set out a “dogma,” it would have been Him.
He said to , “Love Jehovah your God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as you so love yourself.”
He didn’t set people apart….”God is not partial.” It doesn’t matter to God and to Christ where someone is from, who their parents are, etc. They say nothing about ‘one’s own country.’
A Christian in Nigeria, Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, etc, should matter to a Christian in the U.K., the U.S., Canada, Sweden, etc. just as much as those in their home countries. And vice versa….Christians in those other places should care about those Christians in other places., even though the persecution is not so pronounced nor are most as poor in a material way.
As for showing “charity,” Christians come first….no matter where the Christians live…close by or far away. But asking for God to “bless” someone is not the same as charity, and He doesn’t expect us to ask that terrorists who would gladly kill us, and who lie about Him and Jesus Christ., be “blessed.” But Christians should ask for blessings on those who are acting on their faith in Jesus to live as He lived as closely as they are able.
And, Chrissy is wrong. Not being a Christian, she doesn’t understand the commands and the principles involved in living a Christian life.

From Muhammad to ISIS to HAMAS to this Muslim Mayor in Dearborn, the words they shout at us & the world daily about taking over our country, the world, and wanting Sharia only is ALL NORMATIVE ISLAM. No such thing as RADICAL/EXTREMIST ISLAM. It’s the same NORMATIVE ISLAM found in the Qur’an, Hadiths, Sira. The same NORMATIVE ISLAM read, followed and believed by NORMATIVE Muslims.
The stated purpose of NORMATIVE ISLAM, according to all Islamic Doctrine, is to wage war against ALL non-Muslims (KUFFAR) to establish a global Islamic State (Caliphate) under Sharia.
1400 years of historic proof of this and the West is deaf, dumb and blind.
