California: 20 pro-Hamas protesters attack a man speaking Hebrew, cousin of murdered hostage

If a person from any other country were attacked simply for being a citizen of that country, there would be international indignation. When it happens to Israelis, however, the world yawns.

“Pro-Palestinian crowd in California beats hostage’s cousin for speaking Hebrew,” Jerusalem Post, September 15, 2025:

A group of approximately 20 pro-Palestinian protesters attacked a man speaking Hebrew at Santa Monica Pier earlier this month.

Ariel Yaakov Marciano, the cousin of murdered Gaza hostage, Guy Illouz, whose body remains in Hamas terror captivity in the Gaza Strip, described the event to Jewish Journal, a Jewish community outlet for the Greater Los Angeles area, where Santa Monica is located.

He explained to the outlet that he was visiting Los Angeles for his cousin’s bar mitzvah when he noticed the demonstrators. He was wearing a Star of David necklace and speaking to an Israeli from Las Vegas that he had met in Hebrew, recounting that “they realized we were Israeli.”

“At that point, they attacked me. One of them hit me on the back of the head, and I started bleeding. Others pushed me around and tore the necklace off my neck. I pushed one of the masked attackers, and then they all jumped on me,” he told the outlet.

He claimed that on his way to the police station, while shouting “God bless Israel,” he was pepper-sprayed by one of the protesters.

He alleged that the police “didn’t do anything, but I can’t really blame them,” as there were “too many demonstrators and there’s nothing much the police can do against so many.”

He also alleged that a tall “black guy held a knife” against him, and told him “You’re lucky I’m not stabbing you.”

Marciano added that he has no intention of hiding his Jewish identity, as he has lost one cousin since October 7, 2023, and another during Operation Protective Edge, in the summer of 2014.

He also told the outlet that approximately three hours after the assault, during which the Star of David chain was torn from his neck, he was sitting in a restaurant when a Chinese man approached him and returned his necklace….

    • I used to live in Woodland Hills, just up the road on Topanga Canyon Blvd, in the mid 90s. It was a wonderful place at that time, and my only regret at that time was that I couldn’t find a long term job there, which forced me to the much more expensive Silicon Valley instead

      Today, that place sounds like a dump. Although it was there that Patrisse Cullors, the BLM co-founder, bought a mansion w/ her loot from her organization. So far, she has wisely stayed quiet and therefore gone under the radar

  2. Malibu pier, was there in 2016. The beach was a complete sh*thole with trash everywhere on the beach.

    Not surprised at the actions against the Jewish man, if one really thinks about this they will see the pattern Islam has taken since the attack on Israel in 2023.

    Islam on a global level has struck out against all nations in which they have inhabited, refugees, illegals from Muslim nations, imports on college visas, work visas etc. The goal of Islam is to create a one world caliphate, Islam’s sharia law chapter o9.0 teaches all Muslims to “Kill them where you find them, especially the Jewish people”.

    Wake up people, Islam is out there trying to conquer every nation they are in. The UK, France and Germany are losing the battle to keep their sovereignty because their elected official’s have been kissing Islam’s butt and because they elected Muslims into office.

    By electing Muslims in office is national suicide, this is called destruction of nation from within using a non-violent means to advance Islam and sharia upon the nation. Buying up land and real estate is another means. Many historic buildings have been purchased by Arabs in the UK, some converted to a mosque. Churches are selling their buildings to Muslims which are converting them into mosques, what a conquest over a non Muslim society than to build mosques that were a place of Christian worship. If they had burial grounds on the church property they were destroyed by plowing down the head stones.

    Finally, the word Islam means submission. Islam is also a theocracy a foreign government that rules Muslims by sharia law, sharia is for Muslims ONLY.
    Serious thought here people, by remaining ignorant to the reality of Islamic conquest is what your allowing by not paying attention to the going on’s in the world today.

  3. That account sounds like it could have come from Malmo, Sweden and dated several years ago. Compare CA to Sweden and see the **very near** future.

    The PD needs to send in several squads and do a roundup. This was a felonious assault, a denial of **civil rights** (that needs Federal cops) and murder threats.

    As everyone knows, the more often the muzzie thugs get away with these things, the worse it will get and the sooner it will get there.

    This is so vile, heartbreaking, and sad.
    I am a Christian and want to extend
    my most sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Marciano and all the family and friends of the hostages.
    hamas and all mo slum organizations are evil.
    LORD G-D Almighty may Your presence give comfort to Your people, have mercy on us all, grant justice to those who have harmed. Amen.

    Trump should target Los Angeles after he’s done w/ Memphis and Chicago. Too bad more cities can’t be done in parallel

  7. Arrest them all,, try them kick them out of the country. I WOULD MOVE FROM CALIFORNIA. California may as well be a different country. For sure.. that would not happen in Virginia where people actually know their constitutional rights.

    • Millions of illegal immigrants, mainly from Mexico but also from Central American countries, who came in and made the state a quasi Spanish speaking state. Where movements like Aztlan were tolerated

  9. A Chinese “good Samaritan” returned his necklace.
    Reminds me of when my car broke down on an isolated hill near Naples. I put the bonnet up to signal a breakdown (no phone).
    I waited for hours. Hundreds of cars went past, even a police car with 2 officers smoking, windows down. They glanced at me & went past.
    After 4 hours someone stopped. I was astonished, not an Italian, a Chinese gentleman in the middle of nowhere in S Italy !
    He got out & he pushed my car towards a slope down to a village.

  10. I have often noticed that any street attack by muslime men always means attacking the person from behind plus at least three against one because muslimes are cowards and not men in any real sense.
    They attack the weak, they attack women because they are trying to hide their homosexuality.

    I remember California being a great place back in the 1980s when I lived.
