Anthony Aguilar, A Special Guest At CAIR Dinner

Anthony Aguilar, a US Army veteran who formerly was a contractor for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), has made claims, now thoroughly discredited outside Muslim circles, against the IDF for supposedly killing a child in Gaza in cold blood. Aguilar is scheduled to speak soon at a conference of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). A US Army veteran and former contractor for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) who has made discredited claims against Israel is scheduled to speak later this week at a conference organized by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a nonprofit advocacy group long accused of having ties to terrorist organizations including Hamas.

Anthony Aguilar will appear as a “special guest” at a conference-wide dinner on Friday night in Washington, DC, according to itinerary of the event posted on CAIR’s website.

“CAIR’s Leadership & Policy Conference and annual banquet aren’t just another event. It’s where real conversations happen, where policy meets purpose, and where you should probably be,” the organization said on X/Twitter.

Aguilar claimed he witnessed the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shoot a child — Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hamdene, known as Abboud — as the GHF was distributing humanitarian aid on May 28. The GHF is an Israeli and US-backed program that delivers aid directly to Palestinians, blocking Hamas from diverting supplies for terrorist activities and selling them at inflated prices.

Though much maligned, the Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has managed just since mid-May to distribute more than 120 million meals to people in Gaza.

After Aguilar made his claim, the former US Army Green Beret rapidly rose to prominence, presenting himself as a whistleblower exposing supposed Israeli war crimes. His story gained traction internationally, going viral on social media. He subsequently embarked on an extensive media tour, in which he accused Israel of indiscriminately killing Palestinian civilians as part of an attempt to “annihilate” and “disappear” the civilian population in Gaza.

After almost two years of war, the IDF shows no signs of wanting to “annihilate” the people of Gaza. The IDF has made a tremendous effort to warn Gazans away from sites and buildings that are about to be targeted. To this end, It has dropped millions of leaflets, sent millions of text messages, and made millions of robocalls. Since the beginning of the war Isael has facilitated the entry into Gaza of 1.2 million tons of aid. And since mid-May the GHF has delivered more than 170 million meals to people in Gaza. Aguilar’s charge that the IDF is trying to “annihilate” and “disappear” the civilians in Gaza is malignant nonsense.

However, Aguilar, who erroneously labeled the boy in question as “Amir,” gave inconsistent accounts of the alleged incident in separate interviews to different media outlets, calling into question the veracity of his narrative.

Nonetheless, his claims were cited widely by critics of Israel such as Tucker Carlson, Ryan Grim, and Glenn Greenwald as supposed proof of war crimes.

The GHF launched its own investigation at the end of July, ultimately locating Abboud alive with his mother at an aid distribution site on Aug. 23. The organization confirmed his identity using facial recognition software and biometric testing….

After the story of Abboud’s supposed death — shot point-blank, we were told, by an IDF soldier — had been spread by Anthony Aguilar and Hamas, Abboud was found alive. It was clear that Hamas would then try to kill him, so that the terror group’s claim about his death would be upheld. Hence the IDF took him and his mother out of Gaza altogether, and presumably they have been given a secure place to live in Israel.

During the summer, as Aguilar’s claims were receiving widespread media attention, the GHF released a chain of text messages showing that Aguilar was terminated for his conduct. It also held a press conference to present evidence showing that Aguilar “falsified documents” and “presented misleading videos to push his false narrative.”…

Agiular was not fired by the GHF for being a whistleblower, but for making false charges without the slightest evidence to support them. He accused the IDF of “war crimes,” and claimed that the GHF distribution centers were “death traps” where those who lined up for aid could at any time be killed by IDF soldiers. The hysterical pitch and sheer malignancy of his accusations lead to the conclusion that he suffers from that peculiar pathological condition, antisemitism.

Aguilar promoted a false story about Abboud’s death, and that he knew was false. The Gazan boy Abboud, whom he claimed had been killed, was found alive and well. Is Aguilar one more antisemite, eager to blacken the name of the Jewish state? Or was he being paid by Hamas to support the false narrative of a little Palestinian boy being shot in cold blood by an IDF soldier? Perhaps both explanations are true.

CAIR has come under recent scrutiny after the organization’s Philadelphia chapter announced that it was partnering with local schools. “CAIR-Philadelphia is partnering with schools this year to make sure every student feels seen, safe, and supported,” the group said in an Instagram post. “Invite the CAIR Philly staff for a training to educators and staff on cultural competency, anti-bullying, and inclusive practices.”

In other words, CAIR will now be spreading its pro-Hamas, anti-Israel message to teachers in Philadelphia public schools, so that they in turn will transmit that message to their innocent young charges.

One of CAIR’s most controversial documents demands that teachers omit key facts about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on US soil.

“Avoid using language that validates the claims of the 9/11 attackers by associating their acts of mass murder with Islam and Muslims,” CAIR says in the material. “For example, avoid using inaccurate and inflammatory terms such as ‘Islamic terrorists,’ ‘jihadists,’ or ‘radical Islamic as terrorists.’”

Of course. How unfair it would be to mention Islam when discussing the 9/11 attackers. Could that mention conceivably be because all 19 of the hijackers were fanatical Muslims, intent on carrying out a gigantic jihad attack in the middle of America’s largest city? No, that attack had nothing to do with Islam. Muslims everywhere were horrified and condemned the attack. Just ask CAIR.

As for Anthony Aguilar, he’ll no doubt be the guest of honor at the CAIR dinner. A hero of our time to all those assembled CAIR members, a man whom the Zionists “have tried to silence,” but he’s sticking by his story — you know, the one about the IDF’s cold-blooded killing of a Gazan boy, even though that boy just happens to be alive and well, and living now in Israel. It will be fascinating to find out just how much Aguilar will be paid by CAIR for his appearance, and what other groups of Muslims have paid, or will pay, to hear him talk about the “war crimes” of the IDF. And could Qatar, or Qatar’s mouthpiece Al-Jazeera, be providing Anthony Aguilar with financial tokens of their affection and esteem or, possibly, with long-term employment? Of course they could.
