There are 211 Democrats in Congress. Forty-seven Democrat congressional representatives sent a Friday letter to President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling for the United States of America to recognize a Palestinian state, according to a statement issued by Congressman Ro Khanna.
The letter argued that steps needed to be taken to address the injustice underlying the Israel-Hamas War given the Israeli government’s undermining of a potential Palestinian state with a campaign of annexation in Judea and Samaria and calls by Israeli politicians to do the same in Gaza.
Led by Khanna, the 47 Democrats noted that previous US administrations acknowledged that it was necessary to fulfill the national rights of the Palestinian people.
“Just as the lives of Palestinians must be immediately protected, so too must their rights as a people and nation urgently be acknowledged and upheld,” read the letter.
This “Palestinian people” notion was put into general circulation by Yassir Arafat, beginning in the mid-1960s, at the advice of the KGB.
The Democrats encouraged other states to also recognize a Palestinian state, following France’s example. France, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada were among several states that officially welcomed a Palestinian state at last week’s United Nations General Assembly.
“More than 150 countries recognize Palestinian statehood. This is a moral issue. We cannot be isolated from the rest of the free world. We must stand up for the dignity and rights of the Palestinian people. That is why I am pushing for the US to join in recognizing Palestinian statehood,” said Khanna.
Echoing French President Emmanuel Macron, the Democrats assured Trump that as part of the recognition process, the Palestinian state would be required to fully recognize Israel, adopt a security framework, and disarm and remove Hamas from power in Gaza.
There is no mention in the letter by these 47 Democrats of what the boundaries of this “Palestinian state” would be, or who would govern the Strip, who would be in charge of rebuilding Gaza’s infrastructure, or if the new state would have to be completely demilitarized or would that apply only to Hamas, and what would happen to the 520,000 Israelis now living in Judea and Samaria. And it takes no account of the 3500-year history of the Jews in Judea and Samaria. It ignores the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine, which assigned all the territory of western Palestine “from the river to the sea” to the future Jewish state. It also ignores UN Security Council resolution 242, which supported Israel’s right to hold onto territory Israel won in the Six-Day War that it needed if it was to have “secure and defensible borders.”
This letter by the 47 Democrats is what is called a “performative” act; it has no real-world application.
Khanna said on Saturday at The National Arab American Convention that more Democrats should have signed the letter, questioning how his colleagues could not have believed it was time to recognize Palestinian aspirations for self-determination when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was “annexing the West Bank and erasing Palestinian identity.”
But Netanyahu has not, and likely will not, after Trump’s firm opposition, “annex the West Bank.” What he is doing is building more housing for Jews in Area C of Judea and Samaria, as he has every right to do under the Oslo Accords. He has also green-lit a new settlement between Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim. That’s the extent of his so-called “annexation of the West Bank.”
The Californian congressman called US politicians arrogant for not recognizing a Palestinian state when so many members of the international community had committed to acknowledging the polity, asserting that they were putting the country on the side of the “pariah in world opinion.”
So Ro Khanna thinks the American government should follow lemming-like those countries willing to reward Hamas with a “state of Palestine” instead of standing forthrightly, as it has in the past, with its close ally, friend, and military partner, Israel. But a number of important countries — Germany, Japan, Italy, Argentina, and of course the United States — have refused to jump on the anti-Israel juggernaut that Ro Khanna insists we should get on because “so many others have done it.” He wants the American government to join the diplomatic equivalent of a lynch mob, not to stand against a great injustice, but instead to promote it, in order to be part of the anti-Israel baying mob.
“If this party does not have the moral clarity on issues of Gaza, on issues of Palestinian national aspirations and statehood, and on issues of not having military weapons that are killing women and children and starving people in Gaza, then we will not have the moral vision to win back the trust of the American people,” Khanna told The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygyr, according to a BreakThrough News livestream.
“Moral clarity” should lead us, and others, to not abandoning Israel at a moment of maximum peril, when it is fighting a seven-front war for its survival.

Where can I get the names of those Congress people that signed that letter? The campaigns for the Midterm Elections in 2026 are here in one month. People don’t start paying attention to whom they will vote for until after Labor Day in an election year. And this act of betrayal against our best Ally in the Mediterranean Sea and the Middle East is not except-able. But will be forgotten if we do not remind the people that so and so signed a letter for the extermination of Israel, our friend. .

How does one recognize a National Entity that has no borders? It makes as much sense as recognizing the nation of “Killer Whales” somewhere, variable locations, in the ocean.
None of these folks recognizing a State of Palestine can draw its borders, so it is only virtual, a concept in their minds. The denotative meaning of the word virtual is, “Existing or resulting in essence or effect though not in actual fact, form, or name.” Without form it doesn’t exist. The meaning of virtual in science is, “false”.
And what the Dems are giving with recognition of a fantasy is, “false” hope, fuel for endless war, and in the Hamas mind, tacit approval to remove or kill all Israelis.

History also reveals that the ancient Philistines recorded in the Bible and history reveals the people who came from the Greek Islands and some parts of the mainland Greece and the Island of Crete They have no connection, at all, the to the Arab /Muslim of modern times who called themselves the “Palestinians.”
From those ancient people, the Philistines, the word “Palestine” .came into being.
There is no genuine ethic group or race who are the “Palestinians.”
Early in the last century a anyone living in that land, Arab or Jew, who lived in that land was called a” “Palestinian.”
Only after 1964 did the Arab/Muslims start to refer to themselves, exclusively, by the word “Palestinian.”
The reason for that is that they felt that by giving themselves that title they would appear to have some kind of valid claim on that land.

If, after Israel disengaged from Gaza in 2005, the “Palestinian Authority ” had:
1. Governed Gaza in a “proper” manner for the benefit of its citizens.
2. Enhanced its modern infrastructure.
3. Conducted no jihad attacks against Israel.
4. Totally renounced terrorism.
Then, perhaps a case could “possibly” be made for some kind of limited “statehood”.
Instead, they voted in Hamas in 2006, destroyed Gaza by making miles of underground tunnels for future jihad attacks, and then went on to viciously attack Israel on October 7th, 2023.
Based upon these facts, there is NO case at all for “statehood”.
