Did the jihadis get their victory monument after all?

Tablet magazine published a lengthy (over 8,000 words) and thought-provoking article Wednesday calling attention to a startling fact: “a modernist version of the Kaaba, the distinctive cubelike shrine at the heart of the Islamic faith,” now stands “adjacent to the footprint of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed by al-Qaida terrorists on 9/11.” This cube-shaped “not only reproduces the form of the Kaaba, but also slyly replicates several of the distinctive features of the chief shrine of Islam, including its fabric covering, known as the Kiswa. The building is also tilted at an angle to its surroundings, so that one corner points directly toward Mecca.”

Back in Dec. 2009, the New York Times published an article about plans to construct a mosque at Ground Zero, in a space that at that time was occupied by a building that had been extensively damaged in the Sept. 11, 2001 jihad attack that killed nearly three thousand people.

The plan was to build a 16-story mega-mosque at the principal site of the 9/11 attacks. The Times, which enthusiastically supported the project, quoted the public face of the initiative, the sinister-visaged imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, explaining what it was all about: “A presence so close to the World Trade Center, ‘where a piece of the wreckage fell,’ said Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the cleric leading the project, ‘sends the opposite statement to what happened on 9/11.’ ‘We want to push back against the extremists,’ added Imam Feisal, 61.”

Who could object to that? Anyone who knew that in the 1,400-year history of Islamic jihad activity, there have been innumerable triumphal mosques built on the sites of jihad victories, and not a single mosque built anywhere at any time in order to “push back against the extremists.” Activist Pamela Geller saw that article and alerted me to the project, and we swung into action, organizing two rallies against the Ground Zero Mosque in lower Manhattan.

We were excoriated as racists, bigots, and “Islamophobes.” Leftists vilified us and alleged conservatives shrank away in fear of getting canceled themselves. The establishment media never could discover any reason to oppose the Ground Zero Mosque other than “hate.” The New York City establishment threw so many roadblocks in our way that I almost missed one of the rallies I had helped to organize, stopped at one of the innumerable checkpoints city officials had set up to discourage attendance.

  1. Writing as a non-US citizen, I would say that any new building project at Ground Zero should honour the people who died there. If there was, in fact, a large number of Muslim victims, then it would be reasonable to erect an Islamic monument – but if that was not the case, then there should be some sort of buffer zone around the area, within which only buildings and memorials proportionately appropriate to the victims might be positioned. There is also the question of whether a mosque might be viewed as a memorial to the pilots, which would obviously be problematics for the relatives of victims.

  2. This picture is appalling because the mere fact that it represents / looks like the kaaba and one of it’s corner facing Mecca is a sign of islamic DOMINANCE and CONTROL over the US and the West.

    I can’t understand how the powers-that-be failed to see this.

    Everything the muslims do is to facilitate islamic dominance.

    This has got to be stopped at all cost …. it’s never too late

  3. The impertinence and gall , that is Islamic impertinence to have such a Kaaka like structure at or near Ground Zero is an affront of vicious Islamic insolence.

    As for former Muslim ,from Iran, who is now a Christian that a build in a message to the Islamic worlds that “ On September 11,2001 we killed and have been victorious” In other words in the House of Islam that thing would be viewed as a “victory Monument.”

    Furthermore, many Americans still haven’t yet learned and likewise come to understand the those jihadist mass- murder Islamic terror attacks with happened in September 11, 2001 had been actual Qu ‘ran based jihad terrorist attacks.

    Don’t let them fool you, the many apologists for Islam is will endeavor to set up a smokescreen to hide the reality of the truth about the violence and deadly essence of Islam by making the bogus claim that the al Qaeda operatives mass murderer on 9/11 were not real Muslims and that they were breaking the laws of the Qu ‘ran by their violence and deadly actions.” The apologists for Islam will further make the totally false claim that “Those terrorists on 9/11 were only criminals who hijacked the peaceful religion of Islam for politics.”

    Those outrageously false claims are weak attempt of damage control for the image of Islam to the West. For the “holy book” of Islam the Qu ‘ran. For the Qu ‘ran instruct in Sura 9:111. Muslims who are engaging the jihad that “The believer’s fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain ,they kill and are killed “ That’s just what happened on September 11, 2001 the jihadists of al Qaeda “killed and were killed” in those 9/11 jihad attacks against both humankind and America. The Quran also teaches in Sura 9:123 to that jihad –minded Muslims behavior towards non-Muslims “let them find harshness in you…” Those Islamic attacks on 9/11 were indeed very “harsh.” As Sura 2:191 instructs “kill the disbeliever wherever you find them.” That’s a very strange kind of “peaceful religion” if there ever was one.

    Just to site one more out on many from the Qu ‘ran about the instruction of deadly violence is Sura 47:4. Which instructs “Whenever you encounter unbelievers strike off their heads until you make a great slaughter among them …” The terrible harsh reality is that using jet planes as missiles as those jihadist/ Muslims did of September 11, sure made a greater “slaughter among them” than sword can.

    The American people to the actual deadly nature of Islam before it’s too late.

  5. That structure is both and example of arrogant ,In your face, Islamic gall , it also be a reminder that Muslim terrorists jihad malicious murderous jihad violence are filled with demonic pride about those horrendous jihad attacks of September 11, 2001.

    They will continue in jihadist inflecting mas jihad murders because of the basic root ideology of Islamic terrorists is based on the theology of Islam’s “holy book” the Qur ‘an. For the Qu ‘ran instructs in the use of violence and killing for the advancement of Islam. As found in, for example, 2:191. 5:33. 9:5, 111.123. 47:4. Therefore Islam is a false, dangerous and deadly religion.

  6. Sneak move, 9/11 donations were for the Americans and our nation not to honor Islam yet that’s what has happened. All one can ask of people is to wake up, wake up to the threat of Islam inside our nation and that of China. Stop selling your homes to the Chinese.

    How do any of you hope to answer these issues without first demanding truthful disclosure about what actually happened on that day?

    ‘Pull it’. Pull the building. That’s what they said. Don’t come in on this day. Mysterious workers buzzing about. The missing money. The military missing money budgetary disclosures the day before. The unburned paper. The metallurgical data. The pools of molten metal. The stand down.

    Who’s still buying this? For those reading so much into the building design… If that’s all you’re worried about or this is your top issue, well, you’re more aligned with the people whom built this than you may presume. That’s called cultural compatibility conflicts.

    The never ending war between this and that religious zealot group continues on another day.

  8. Beating Wellington to it, but only reason this is possible is a complete dominance of NYC by Democrats. Otherwise any other party would have treated that ground as sacred, and just banned any islamic monuments there. But also, shame on Bush and pre-Trump Republicans who kept jabbering that islam is a religion of peace – something that’s never had to be said about other faiths, like Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism & so on

  9. I read the article in PJ, and maybe I just missed it, but what is the **purpose** of this building (other than the one celebrating the takeover by islime)?

    Is it claiming to be an office building (a front of course for the real meaning), or conference center for mozzies, or …what?

    With this and the threat of a mozzie mayor…NYC seems to be finished.

        According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, this website – along with its followers – simply promotes “hate” (but, in reality, anything that goes against the leftist / jihad narrative).
