President Donald Trump has been at the forefront of the patriotic pushback in the culture war, fighting on a variety of fronts against the left’s comprehensive and multifaceted efforts to make Americans ashamed of their own culture, history, and values, which is all a prelude to inducing us to give them all up. And so it’s altogether fitting and proper that the president would weigh in on the Cracker Barrel rebranding controversy. Whether or not one restaurant ditches its Americana roots and goes all woke cosmopolite on us is a minor issue amid all the troubles the nation has today, but Trump has always been a man who understands the big picture. And big picture issues are at play here.

They removed the old white guy and the barrel, and just had the name on. Essentially, it’s that new CEO trying to cancel Whiteness, and getting such a backlash that she had to reverse course
All these DEI CEOs should be made to realize that there are serious consequences for trying to tinker w/ well established brands

I have eaten at Cracker Barrel a few times – one of my friend’s favorites. I personally thought that they have a really limited menu, and the food is really mediocre. I had no idea that it was such a major brand within the US, given how ordinary the food tastes
The gift shop adjoining them is somewhat relatively quaint

The CEO is a typical AWFL. The food there isn’t very good. The service isn’t very good. She has an idea, lets redecorate! My fav place to eat out in my area is a Japanese steakhouse. Delicious food. Great service. Reasonable prices. The female food servers there are as attentive and polite as it gets. It’s on the far side of town from me but worth the drive.

My cracker barrel actually isn’t bad, maybe some are suffering from restaurant fatigue but I think much has to do with management and it always seems to be full

You’re right. They vary from location to location. I have never eaten there. I have every restaurant you could imagine in my area but the two I most prefer are local and not national chains. The second one is a Mexican place but not the usual pre-fab junk we see in most places. I have no doubt that most get their stuff from the same distributor and it ain’t good. My biggest annoyance is they cannot make a decent pizza here. I can’t figure that out.

Pizza. That’s a loaded question. I grew up outside Chicago where thin crust is king and I had never heard of pepperoni until I moved to Alaska. Sausage was king with onion and peppers, olives not much sauce. I guess it’s all what we grew up with

In my area there are long time Chicago connections. That is what makes it so hard to figure out. I guess they forgot to bring a recipe with them.
