The leftist establishment spends so much time hating and trying to destroy Donald Trump that it’s easy to overlook the fact that leftist top dogs wish they had a Trump of their own. They may never admit it, but leftist would be overjoyed to find a candidate like Trump, someone who could relate to people honestly, communicate their message effectively, and above all, move people to vote for him. Now, some leftists think they’ve found their man: New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.
In many ways, of course, Mamdani is the opposite of Trump, and he is proud of that fact. During the first New York City Democratic mayoral candidates’ debate on June 4, 2025, Zohran Mamdani proclaimed: “I am Donald Trump’s worst nightmare, as a progressive Muslim immigrant who actually fights for the things that I believe in. And the difference between myself and Andrew Cuomo is that my campaign is not funded by the very billionaires who put Donald Trump in D.C. I don’t have to pick up the phone from Bill Ackman or Ken Langone,” two Trump-supporting billionaires who donated to the Cuomo campaign.
Yet for all his hatred and contempt for the president, Mamdani emerged during that debate as the left’s answer to Trump. Cuomo responded to Mamdani’s class warfare rhetoric in the first debate by skewering Mamdani’s inexperience: “You know, Mr. Mandami [sic] is very good on Twitter and with videos, but he actually produces nothing… Donald Trump would go through Mr. Mandami [sic] like a hot knife through butter. He’s been in government 27 minutes, he passed three bills, that’s all he’s done, he has no experience with Washington, no experience with New York City, he would be Trump’s delight.”
Cuomo brought up Mamdani’s inexperience again in the June 12 debate, saying: “I think inexperience is dangerous. In this case. Mr. Mamdani had a staff of five people, you’re now going to run a staff of 300,000 employees. He’s never dealt with the City Council. He’s never dealt with the Congress. He’s never dealt with the State Legislature. He’s never negotiated with a union. He’s never built anything. He’s never dealt with a natural emergency. He’s never dealt with a hurricane, with a flood, etc. He’s never done any of the essentials. And now you have Donald Trump on top of all of that.”
Mamdani was ready for Cuomo’s attack and shot back with a blistering and clearly prepared response, referring to the scandals that led to Cuomo resigning as governor of New York: “To Mr. Cuomo, I have never had to resign in disgrace. I have never cut Medicaid. I have never stolen hundreds of millions of dollars from the M.T.A. I have never hounded the 13 women who credibly accused me of sexual harassment. I have never sued for their gynecological records, and I have never done those things because I am not you, Mr. Cuomo.”

Trump actually had a lifelong history of achievements, whatever one might think of him. The opposite can be said for Mamdani. He’s the new AOC, and just like AOC was the star of the party in 2018, Mamdani is basking in the glory at the moment
However, there are still about 3 months left, which is plenty of time for the polls to change as more is discovered about him, his past beliefs and his controversial associates

Uncle Sam is fighting the enemy from within. If Mamdani is elected New York will be a blend of Islam and Marxism. Islam will be the captain of the ship. Mamdani is a rich kid snake oil salesman. I am stunned at how many people are falling for this propaganda. He will suck New York dry. He will be living high wide and handsome while New Yorkers will be crushed under ever higher taxes, lost economies, collapsing city services. The man has not accomplished much. His parents’ success has helped to prop him up. It is interesting that he speaks out against billionaires, unless the billionaire happens to be George Soros. As an Islamist he will honor the global intifada. The Jews in NYC will have to leave. I am puzzled as to why New Yorkers are not seriously considering Sliwa. Sliwa loves the city and wants to do right by the city. I pray that something happens to trip up the Islam/Marxist scheme for New York. Sadly the U.S. is under attack, and we must gear up intellectually and socially. There is the thought that New York will get what it votes for. Then we will see the policies fail right before our eyes. When that happens, the Left will blame Trump or any other handy excuse. I, Mamdani cannot possibly be wrong. I suppose there is some logic to letting it happen. The only problem is that when it fails, patriots are going to be stuck cleaning up the mess. It would be best if does not happen in the first place.

Curtis has gone out of his way for decades to keep New Yorkers safe and he is a true blue New Yorker and now this muslim fellow who has lived in the Big Apple for a couple of years is the best to come from forward as a new Mayor makes me wonder what has happened to the City I loved when I lived there back in the early 1980s.
