Texas congressional candidate burns Qur’an, leftist media outraged

If Valentina Gomez had posted a video of herself burning the Bible, the same people who are calling her a “bigot” and claiming that she is “desperate for attention” would be hailing her courage.

Note that in the avalanche of negative courage that Gomez has received for daring to burn the only religious text that leftists respect, not a single leftist “journalist” thought it newsworthy to ask her why she was burning the Qur’an, or to say even the smallest thing about why anyone might have any problem with the book. No, instead, all we get is a monochromatic “Valentina Gomez is bad for burning the holy book,” with no curiosity whatsoever about what might be in it that could be problematic. Nor do any of the establishment media stories about Gomez say anything about jihad terrorism at all, or about the death threats from jihad groups for anyone who burns the Qur’an, which makes burning it a stand against violent intimidation and bullying. The less the public knows about all that, the easier it will be for establishment media propagandists to portray her as an evil fascist.

This isn’t the first time Gomez has tried to make a national splash by courting controversy.

Earlier this year, Gomez barged on stage during a Muslim event at the Texas Capitol, and used the occasion to decry Islam as the ‘religion of rape, incest, and pedophilia, where they bow down to a stupid rock, and a false prophet.’…

There has been a furious reaction to an anti-Islamic campaign ad posted by a far-right MAGA congressional candidate in which she sets fire to the Quran with a flamethrower.

Valentina Gomez, who is running for Texas’ 31st District in 2026 as a Republican, shared the extreme video on X as part of her vow to “end Islam” in the Lone Star State.

Approximately one percent of Texas’s population is Muslim.

Gomez has a history of posting violent stunts and using hateful rhetoric against Muslims, the LGBT+ community, Black people, and immigrants, in an attempt to gain notoriety to further a flailing attempt at a political career that has so far gone nowhere.

“Your daughters will be raped and your sons beheaded, unless we stop Islam once and for all,” Gomez said before setting fire to a copy of the holy book.

“America is a Christian nation, so those terrorist Muslims can f*** off to any of the 57 Muslim nations. There is only one true God, and that is the God of Israel.”

Gomez’s video ended with her declaring that she is “powered by Jesus Christ.”

Condemnation came quickly in response to the clip.

“This isn’t politics. It’s incitement,” podcaster Brian Allen wrote on X. “When the mosques start burning, remember: this was the match and the Texas GOP handed her the lighter.”

Another X user added, “She will literally do anything for clout. Anything. Why is this person allowed to incite hate and murder?”

One X user wrote: “Get out of my state. We have no place for intolerance and hateful people who don’t believe in basic human rights such as THE FIRST AMENDMENT which allows for freedom of religion. Why don’t you learn the basics before running for office.”…

  1. Burning a Nazi flag and Quran are on par for both bigoted dogmas, but you can only burn them once.
    Also, you need a burning permit in some situations. On the other hand, soaking them in a jar of pigs’ feet and formaldehyde can last forever.

Everyday our government is getting worse and worse. They no longer care about the elderly but they certainly have plenty of money for Muslims that come to America and other places.         She is right that America is a Christian nation, since a majority of people going atheist or agnostic doesn’t suddenly flip the status. If a different faith, say Judaism or Buddhism or (god forbid) islam were to become a plurality, you would start to have a point. What a country’s constitution says is one thing: what a majority of its people are can completely contradict that statistically, w/o nullifying the basic assertion in that constitution about that country’s religion

          Given an ever increasing percentage of both individual and family migration from non-Christian nations/cultures, the rise in agnosticism and atheism, a diminishing birthrate, and that Christianity has been on the wane, the assertion that we are–today–a Christian nation is not true.

          Also, we are only talking about citizens here – not immigrants – legal or illegal, not H1B visa workers, not H2B visa workers, not even Green Card holders. Just citizens. That’s what the above numbers are, and close to 70% easily identify as Christians (even if we don’t include Jehovah’s witnesses or Mormons), So Ms Gomez happens to be right about the numbers, even if it is 70% instead of 95%

          Regarding Jehovah’s Witnesses, they consider themselves Christians as they love and have faith in Jesus Christ and attempt to follow His commandments.
          Glenn Beck is a Mormon, and he considers that he is Christian, as do many other Mormons with whom I have spoken.

          The country was founded on Christian principles and, as you point out, most Americans still claim Jesus as Lord.

Immigrants are either Green Card holders – permanent residents, or holders of various visas – F1, F2, H1B, H2B, J1 and whatever other visa types there are. People who have all rights except the rights to vote, or serve on juries

    It isn’t bigoted to point out the evils of anything, including a *religion*. People need to be aware of something dangerous when it threatens their very existence.

  5. Actually, burning the Qur ‘an is a very stupid thing to do. By contrast ,an intelligent way to handle that religious book of Islam and all the deadly violence that it inspires to to study and examine that specific religious book of Islam and then expose the errors and contradictions that it contains.

    This has actually already been done, For example, on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Qu‘ran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Qu’ran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Qu ‘ran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.”

Heck, we even had Geert Wilders decades ago produce a documentary called “Fitna”, and Robert participate in a documentary “Islam: what the West needs to know”. Not too many people watched it (I did buy that DVD – this was before the YouTube era) either. Plus now you have David Wood, Ridvan Aydemir and a whole lot of other people producing 3-5 hour videos. I don´t believe in burning that most hideous of publications the Quran as it requires too much of a carbon footprint, I would prefer to see it pulped and returned to useful material for the paper industry such as toilet paper, now that would be a fitting end to it, all we need now is a suitable brand name and jingle, IZAL is taken, how about IZLAM.

    • I nowadays have converted completely to ebooks, so that wouldn’t be possible in my case – although I don’t have any qur’an in my Nook library. However, most people do still read using slaughtered trees, so I don’t mind the botanical life in its vicinity getting a bit of extra carbon dioxide

      That said, I do think that another thing she should do is make doormats and toilet rolls of various favorite flags of islam-lovers in the us – 🇵🇸🇧🇩🇵🇰🇦🇫🇹🇷🇶🇦 – and put them on Mike Lindell’s distribution network. While I tend to agree w/ Jay and Robert that Muhammad did not exist, I’m not sure that that would be such a persuasive argument w/ muslims, for the same reason if one told a Christian that Christ never existed, or if one told me that the Hindu incarnation of Vishnu – Krishna never existed. So there is a role for both approaches: to the historic purists, by all means push the evidence that Muhammad never existed. But to others, do what the Hatuns and the Raymonds and the Davids have been doing – read out the hadiths and mock Muhammad, whether it’s about al Zutt or his accepting a meal from Zaynab bint al-Harith, whose family he had earlier massacred

    with a copy of Marx’s “Das Capital” and a copy of Hitler’s” Mein Kampf”.
