Montreal police make arrest in violent attack on Jewish man in front of children. No name released.

In an update to this story, Canadian leaders condemn beating of Montreal Jewish father in front of his kids, Montreal police have made an arrest:


Police are likely hoping for public fury to die down before releasing any information about the motive and the attacker’s name.

But whom are the Montreal police and authorities actually protecting? The public or the criminals? That the investigation is ongoing should not be a factor in releasing the accused’s name.

Even Instagram tried to restrict video of the attack:

Montreal police say they have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with an assault on a Jewish man at Dickie Moore Park in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough.

The assault was partially captured on video, sparking public outcry as people shared footage of the victim being beaten on the ground in front of his children.

In a news release Monday, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal said the suspect was arrested after an intensive investigation.

Police said the suspect is being questioned by investigators and a file will be sent to the Quebec Crown prosecutor’s office, the Drecteur des poursuites criminelles et pénales (DPCP), for possible charges…….

The victim, who appears to be dressed in traditional Jewish attire, gets up on his knees and one of at least two children clings to him. The attacker picks up some belongings in a grocery bag and then tosses what appears to be a kippa, a head covering worn by Jewish men and boys, into a splash pad area.

The SPVM said the investigation is ongoing. The reason for the assault was not identified in the news release.

CBC News requested information about possible charges from the DPCP Monday afternoon but did not hear back.

Rabbi Saul Emanuel, executive director of the Jewish Community Council of Montreal, sent a news release shortly after the arrest calling the attack a hate crime.

    God promises restoration to His people Israel amidst great distress (Jeremiah 30:7–9). That particular distress seems to be the end-times tribulation

  2. It’s safe to say that the arrested man was muslim. Had he been anything else, his identity would have been released

    • Sergio Yanes Preciado is accused of assaulting a 32-year-old man on Aug. 8 at Dickie-Moore Park. The attack, which was captured on video, showed a man police believe was him repeatedly punching the victim to the ground before throwing what appeared to be his kippah into a splash pad.

        A 35-year-old woman was arrested for armed assault Sunday after police say she threw a “container containing a liquid” at participants of the Montreal Pride parade. The woman targeted members of two Jewish groups marching in the parade — Ga’ava and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs — a participant told The Gazette Monday. The liquid she threw “smelled like urine,” he said.

        ……..this is not a Jewish Problem..Jews are convenient targets..
        the whole population should be outraged and appalled that certain segments behave and think in this way.

  5. How very cowardly. First the Armored Janitor Brigade take an hour to arrive (next time maybe just phone the donut shops directly instead of 911), now they won’t tell us who did it. My country is going right down the toilet.
