The American Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, is an ordained Southern Baptist pastor who served two churches for twelve years before entering politics. He used to organize and lead fellow Christians on trips to the Promised Land, and he knows that land as well as any Israeli Jew. Unsurprisingly, he is an unshakable supporter of the Jewish state. He believes that Israel by rights should include all the territory “from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean sea.” He knows the Bible, and the 3500-year history of the Jews living in their land. He knows why the place names “Judea” and “Samaria” must be returned to common usage, and why the term “West Bank,” invented in 1950 by the Jordanians, should be avoided. On the large wooden desk in the office of US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, taking pride of place is a glass-enclosed mezuzah case in the shape of a B-2 bomber built out of shrapnel from an Iranian missile that fell during the June war with Israel.
It is the same design that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu handed to US President Donald Trump during his visit to the White House last month.
The bombers were instrumental as the US joined Israel in targeting Iranian nuclear sites, dropping huge 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs on the Fordow and Natanz facilities.
For Huckabee, the mezuzah is emblematic of the special relationship between the US and Israel, a relationship that, despite its ups and downs over the decades, has perhaps never been stronger or more strategically aligned than it is today.
“If you came to my home tonight for dinner and said, ‘Mike, I like you. You’re a great guy. But we can’t stand your wife, we think she’s awful,’ the first thing I’d do is tell you to get your rear end up and get out of my house. You cannot come in and tell me you love me but can’t stand my partner. Insulting my partner is insulting me,” Huckabee explained when asked about the special relationship between the two nations.
Sitting down with The Jerusalem Post for an exclusive interview after 100 days in office, the ambassador emphasized the urgency of current challenges, which converge in ways that define his approach to one of America’s most consequential diplomatic postings. His tenure comes at a pivotal moment when the Middle East is reshaping itself, antisemitism is rising globally, and the US-Israel partnership faces both unprecedented opportunities and familiar pressures.
When it comes to the contentious issue of Israeli sovereignty over parts of the West Bank, Huckabee, long known as a staunch supporter of the view that Judea and Samaria are an integral part of Israel, made it clear that Israel is a sovereign nation that will make its own decisions. His position reflects both personal conviction and official policy, though he’s careful to distinguish between the two.
“That’s really not the president’s style,” Huckabee stated on potential US pressure regarding annexation. “He may express his own opinions, but he has not waded into the waters of saying, ‘you ought to annex this or that.’ He just hasn’t. I think he respects that Israel is a sovereign country.”
Huckabee, like Trump, has no intention of pressuring Israel not to annex territory to which he believes it has a right, based firmly on 3,500 years of Jewish history, as well as on the territorial provisions of the League of Nations’ Mandate for Palestine, and on UN Security Council Resolution 242, which recognized Israel’s right to retain any territory won in the Six-Day War that the Jewish state needed to keep if it was to have “secure and defensible borders.” He clearly wants Israel to hold onto east Jerusalem, which was annexed in 1980, and on the Golan Heights, annexed in 1981. But he also wants the Jewish state to keep building housing (pejoratively referred to by Israel’s enemies as “the settlements”) in Judea and Samaria, making it impossible for those territories, where 500,000 Israelis now live — to be yielded by any possible left-wing successor to Netanyahu.
This hands-off approach represents a significant shift from previous administrations that often viewed American influence as essential in shaping Israeli territorial decisions. Under Trump’s leadership, Huckabee suggested, the relationship has evolved toward greater respect for Israeli autonomy in matters of national security and territorial integrity.
Think of Jimmy Carter, so smarmily hostile to Israel, who with his antisemitic National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski by his side, was determined to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin to surrender territory to Egypt that Israel might have retained, including a swathe of the Sinai along the Israeli border, so that in the end Begin surrendered and agreed to hand back to Egypt, in three tranches, the entire Sinai, as part of the Camp David Accords. Think of Barack Obama’s unfriendliness to Israel, for which he has always had a cold heart, as expressed, for example, in his refusal to veto UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemned Israel for building “settlements” in the West Bank and even in east Jerusalem, calling them a “violation of international law.”

Yeah, Huckabee was a great choice by Trump. He is a decent, competent and very knowledgeable man.
Also, his being a devout Christian helps all the more in aligning Judaism and Christianity against forces inimical to the best that the West explored such as no other civilization ever has, including liberty, equality under the law, the heinousness of slavery and women’s rights. I should think that all sensible people in Israel welcome this man as the current American Ambassador to Israel.
As an aside, Huckabee was a damn fine Governor of Arkansas and helped turned that state red and now his daughter, another very capable person, is the present Governor of that great state which was corrupt under the Clintons but not nearly so much any longer (and Governor Sarah Huckabee was the first governor to disallow China from buying up farmland here in America, something else keenly important). Oh yeah, I’m very pro-Huckabee.

Mike Huckabee is the right man to be the US Ambassador to the State of Israel. This is because he understands the history of all that land that is now the Jewish State.
Likewise, Huckabee also understands that those two words “West Bank” it is modern fabricated term. In great contrast, the words Judea and Samaria are based on history, that is ancient history.
Furthermore, there is a very strange question, which is “Does Israel occupy the West Bank.” The answer is “No”. This is because it’s impossible for a nation to “occupy” lands that are naturally part of that country. For the so-called “West Bank’” are the lands of Judea and Samaria. Which belongs to the State of Israel by historic and Biblical rights
Furthermore, the Bible declares the truth, which is that God had given all this land that now composes the State of Israel, including all of the West Bank, which in reality is Judah and Samaria, belongs to the Jewish people. This may be found in the Bible, as seen in, for example, Genesis 28:13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135:4.
In other words, the Jews have tall this land by Divine Right. Furthermore, the Jewish people should have this land by historic rights as shown in First Kings 4:20,21, 24,25. 8:55, 56.
