Christians living in Mali have it particularly hard. Last year, jihadists gave Christians the same kind of ultimatum they have given to Christians and others throughout history: “Support us” (that is, pay the jizya as dhimmis), convert to Islam, or leave the area. The only other option is death.
Islam is slowly taking over the resource-rich continent of Africa, as jihadists battle it out. Right now, local branches of the Islamic State “control territory in Mali, Somalia, and Mozambique, setting the stage for new foreign fighter mobilizations, resource extraction opportunities, and perhaps even external operations against the West.” The march of Islam continues globally, while the West sleeps, and is being invaded via open-door migration policies.

(Reuters) -Al Qaeda-linked militants killed 21 soldiers during coordinated attacks in Mali on Tuesday, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, a U.S.-based non-governmental organization that tracks online reports by Islamist militants.
Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) said it captured two soldiers, seized 15 military vehicles and more than 50 weapons during the “widescale” operation.
Mali’s army declined to provide a toll on Wednesday but said its outposts in Farabougou and Biriki-Were came under “simultaneous attack” early on Tuesday, according to a military statement.
JNIM said they had taken control of a military barracks and militia positions in Farabougou on Tuesday and detonated an improvised explosive device against an army vehicle in the south-central Segou region.
The army did not respond to a request for comment on that claim.
Segou, a strategic hub in south-central Mali, has seen repeated clashes between jihadist groups, government forces and allied militias amid a years-long insurgency that has spread across the arid Sahel region.

In North Africa, forget the lazy muslims: the jihadists have pretty much established their sway in countries like Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Gambia and a number of those countries. Not only has the French Foreign Legion failed and been forced to leave (it was rather ironic of the French Foreign Legion trying to prevent jihadists from taking over West Africa even while they were successfully taking over France) – jihadists even forced out the Russian Wagner Group (I had no idea there were still there in Africa: I thought that all of them were needed in Ukraine)
In the late nighties to 2000, Afghanistan had completely fallen, and became a good spot to plot 9/11. The next jihad mega-attacks against the West are likely to be plotted from West Africa. I don’t blame the West for not sending endless armies there to combat them, but I do wish we’d arm anti-muslim militias in the area wherever we can find them – be they Christian or Animist/local “pagans” – to lock them into an endless war so that they don’t suddenly end up w/ a base for jihad. It would also reduce jihadist activities in clearly non-muslim countries like Cameroon, Congo, Central African Republic, Uganda, and so on

And remember that Mali is an Islamic country–over 95% of Malians are Muslim. But these soldier just weren’t Islamic *enough*.
