The idea that adherence to Islam will benefit believers in this life turns people into fanatics and leads to jihad, as Muhammad said that there was no deed that equaled jihad in reward. The inevitable disappointment just leads to even more fanaticism, as the only alternative at that point is apostasy.

Islam has taught the same ideals from start to today, nothing has changed. It is the only Idea that has millions of followers that were either forced or stupid enough to accept the ideals of Islam without fully understanding sharia law, especially about the issue of leaving Islam and the death sentence they put on one’s head.
