A 35-year-old Hindu woman was brutally murdered in Navara village of the Nepanagar area late Friday night after she allegedly refused to the marriage proposal and conversion to Islam in Burhanpur.
The accused, Sheikh Raees (42), son of Sheikh Asif, allegedly attacked Bhagyashree Namdev Dhanuk with a knife following a dispute, leaving her with multiple injuries and a fatal neck wound. She died on the spot.

The police have arrested the accused and registered a case under IPC sections for murder and the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act.
According to the woman’s family, Raees had been harassing Bhagyashree for a long time, pressuring her to marry him and convert to Islam. Her sister Subhadra said they had approached the police just hours before the attack.
On Saturday, the family staged a protest by placing the body on the road, demanding the demolition of the accused’s house and shop. Supported by members of Hindu organizations, they also demanded action against others allegedly involved in the murder….

What can one say to this horror story? Is this man an exception to the Islamic religion or does he represent it? From family “Honor Killings” to murdering a woman who says “No I don’t want to marry you and convert to Islam”. There clearly is a problem with Islam and until more civilized nations start to tell Muslims “Sorry but your religion is so sick you are not allowed to enter our country for the safety of our citizens” it will continue. When normal people who are Muslims start being denied visas they will naturally feel wronged but after the initial anger passes they will start to realize that their religion needs to be changed and that will be the beginning of what Islam desperately needs – a Reformation. Otherwise these Horror Murders will continue.

This guy (and Islam) regards women as chattle. He wouldn’t kill a cow that belongs to another Muslim without first buying it, yet, he kills a woman for not becoming his property. It appears the woman did not even have the value of a cow in Sheikh Jr’s mind.

Two fold problem. India has major shortage of women, and the Islamic community practices polygamy. This creates a lot of tension because Hindu women may marry into Muslim family, but not Muslim into Hindu. There is shortage of both type of women and excess men who are looking to marry.
I can’t count how many times I’ve known men to lie to get a girl, I guess the lie in India is to claim to be a Hindu, and then set up the play and reveal the truth later when she’s too deep in. Often times, these men already have a wife and this one is the second one, so she plays along out of pressure.

I imagine that most people here have had one or two failed romances at some point during their lives–I have, although I have now had the good fortune to be happily married for many years.
What did you feel? Disappointment, sadness, perhaps a bit of embarrassment? Sure. Did anyone want to slit their beloved’s throat? I very much doubt it, because this is not a normal human response.
But it is rife in Islam…
