A man was sentenced this Wednesday by the Lyon Criminal Court to one year in prison for burning a Quran in front of a mosque in Villeurbanne (Rhône) last June.
The court has ruled. A 27-year-old man was sentenced this Wednesday, July 30, to one year in prison by the Lyon Criminal Court for burning a Quran in front of a mosque in Villeurbanne (Rhône) in early June. This sentence was accompanied by a two-year ban on appearing in the same city.
Tried for “degradation committed on the grounds of race, ethnicity, nation, or religion,” the defendant denied being “an Islamophobe,” claiming to be a “victim of his illness,” a paranoid schizophrenia he has been treating since he was 18.
He admitted the charges against him.
The perpetrator, “who had been under treatment for several years for psychiatric disorders,” admitted his guilt while in police custody, the prosecutor’s office stated at the time of the offense. He attempted to defend himself by dismissing any connection between his actions and Islam: “I understand that my actions were very serious. For me, it was just a book, it wasn’t against Muslims themselves.”
Prosecutor Hannah Tellier, for her part, considered that the defendant presented “a major risk of repetition,” and also requested a 15-month prison sentence for his actions.
As a reminder, the convicted man entered the Villeurbanne mosque on the night of June 1st to 2nd, shortly before the first morning prayer. There, he stole the holy book before setting it on fire outside the building.
A witness extinguished the flames but waited until the next day to report the incident to the officials. The officials then filed a complaint and forwarded CCTV footage to investigators, who arrested the suspect that same evening.
The burning was denounced as an openly “Islamophobic” act by several religious leaders, as well as local elected officials.
The first three months of 2025 were marked by a resurgence in anti-Muslim acts, up 72% compared to the same period in 2024, with 79 cases recorded, according to a count by the Ministry of the Interior.

France is destroying itself. The courts punish critics while the muslims slaughter. If he had taken a koran he bought and burned it in a plaza not in front of a mosque, would he be arrested and punished? Hate speech laws are censorship. Who decides what is hate is always an issue.

In contrast ,an intelligent way to handle that religious book of Islam and all the deadly violence that it inspires to to study and examine that specific religious book of Islam and then expose the errors and contradictions that it contains.
This has actually already been done, For example, on pages 145 through 157 in THE ISLAMIC INVASION by Robert Morey in which he wrote a section on the Qu‘ran with its self-contradictions. Just two of the many he cited are the following “The Qu’ran differs on whether a day is a thousand years or fifty thousand years in God’s sight’ and “Who was first to believe? Abraham or Moses [Sura 6:14 versus 7:143]? The above is inconsistent and illogical. Further, Morey wrote about “The fact that Judaism and Christianity broke up into different sects was used in the Qu ‘ran to prove that they are not of God [Suras 30:20-32. 42:13, 14]. Yet Islam has broken up into many warring sects and therefore cannot be true if the Quran is right.”
Moreover, Morey in his book shows many more contradictions and absurdities in the Quran, there are and how Muhammad incorporated extra Biblical and Jewish folklore along with pre-Islamic Arabian myth and parts of Zoroastrian and Hindu stories into the Quran.
Furthermore, the Muslims claim that “the Quran is the direct, literal word of God unmodified in any way by the Prophet who uttered them at the bidding of God.” In addition , in the book UNVEILING ISLAM by Ergun Mehmet Caner and Eethi Caner has shown that the Quran was modified in the following account on pages 45. “Muhammad felt the need to improve on the words of Allah, since he changed Allah’s wisdom for his own on several occasions. A hadith tells of the nonchalant emendations of Muhammad:’ On a number of occasions he [a scribe] had, with the Prophet’s consent changed the closing words of verses. For example, when the prophet had said ‘God is mighty and wise ‘ Adbollah b. Abi Sarh suggested writing down ‘Knowing and wise’ and the Prophet answered that there was no objection. Having observed a succession of changes of this type, Adbollah renounced Islam on the grounds that revelations, if from God could not be changed at the prompting of a scribe such as himself. After his apostasy he went to Mecca and joined the Qorayshites.’ Other writers reveal that later Muhammad and his people did go war with the Qorayshites and he personally killed Abdollah. Obviously Abdollah knew too much and Muhammad wanted Abdollah’s knowledge to die with him.”
In conclusion, the Qu ‘ran is not only a fiction, it’s also a hoax.

France is lost. It seems perfectly acceptable for these Muslims to insult Christians and other religions but not the other way around. Actually anybody with some intelligence is able to distinguish before a religion and a political system that masquerades as a religion where the followers are weak minded and easily influenced. What most Western countries do not seem to grasp that these people are not Europeans in robes. They are there to change these countries in Europe’s way of life into their warped delusional way of life. They believe God tells in their book to kill Jews and Infidels which encompasses all who is not into Islam. Now thinking logically, why would God tell them that when God is so powerful He could kill us in a split second. We need leaders in all western civilizations to take notice of this scourge and act with extremely strong responses and save their citizens. In God we Trust.

The Quran is the only book I have ever destroyed, it is now residing where it belongs in the garbage.
