Contending with Islam – Time for a Modern Black Robe Regiment and Muslim Accountability

It is not appropriate to label all, or even the majority of those, who question Islam and Muslims as Islamophobes.

Are you concerned about the teachings of Islam that are hostile toward non-Muslims and incompatible with the U.S. Constitution?  Are you concerned that there are Muslim groups and individuals who act on those teachings and kill non-Muslims?  Are you concerned that folks in leadership positions across the United States either don’t understand, or don’t want to understand those teachings of Islam?

Well, here are two things not to do:

First, don’t call for the general banning of Sharia Law.  Sharia Law includes such things as dietary restrictions, personal hygiene matters, financial transactions, and marriage.  What would be the basis for banning these?  And such a call just gives folks on the other side something to use against you.  On the other hand, other aspects of Sharia Law, such as polygamy by men, stoning for adultery, and beheading for apostasy, are already illegal in the United States.

Second, don’t claim that Islam is not a religion and therefore can be banned in the United States.  Here are three reasons why:

  1. The “Statute of Virginia for Religious Freedom” was a law passed by the Virginia General

Assembly in 1786 that protected the rights of its citizens to worship as they chose.  The bill was originally drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1779.  Some years after the passage of the Statute, Jefferson wrote that during the earlier debate in the General Assembly there had been an effort to limit the protection to Christians.  However, this effort was defeated, showing that, as Jefferson noted, “it’s protection of opinion was meant to be universal.”  He wrote:

Where the preamble declares that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed, by inserting the word “Jesus Christ,” so that it should read “a departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion” the insertion was rejected by a great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of it’s [sic] protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mahometan, the Hindoo, and infidel of every denomination.[1]

This Statute “would go on to play a critical role in the development of American religious freedom and the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.”[2]  It would follow then, that the Establishment Clause was also intended to be “universal,” meaning it included Islam.

  1. Merriam Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary (11th Edition) defines Islam as “the religious faith of Muslims.”
  2. On p. 1 of the Internal Revenue Service publication titled “Tax Guide for Churches and Religious Organizations,” we find:

The term church is found, but not specifically defined, in the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). The term is not used by all faiths; however, in an attempt to make this publication easy to read, we use it in its generic sense as a place of worship including, for example, mosques and synagogues.

Islam is a religion protected by the Establishment Clause, so let’s contend with it as a religion.

During our Revolutionary War, the Black Robe Regiment came into being.  This wasn’t a literal regiment of soldiers, but was rather a term that referred to the

…influential clergymen who promoted American independence and supported the military struggle against Britain. By encouraging the Patriot cause, those ministers helped muster critical support among members of their congregation—support the British begrudgingly acknowledged as vital to maintaining the colonists’ frustrating resistance to British attempts to restore Parliamentary rule… the Black Robe Regiment was not an actual detachment in the Continental Army but rather a British epithet for the influence preachers exerted in support of the Patriot cause.[3]

It’s time for a modern Black Robe Regiment to contend with Islam.  So how is this to be done?

Pastors, start out by speaking against the hatred and violence being taught and advocated in mosques and at Muslim events across the United States.  In March of this year, I completed a report showing examples of this hatred and violence being taught and advocated between October 2023 and February 2025 in 153 Muslim American mosques and events in 28 States and Washington DC.[4]

I found the following themes occurring in the rhetoric among these 153 Muslim American events:

  1. Hostility toward Israel and calls for its destruction.
  2. Hostility toward Jews and Christians and calls for their death.
  3. Great antipathy toward the United States.
  4. The lauding of designated foreign terrorist organizations and individual terrorists.
  5. Praise for the terrorist organization Hamas’ October 7, 2023, atrocity-filled attack mainly on Israeli civilians.[5]

This rhetoric in Muslim mosques and events is monitored and reported on a regular basis by the folks at MEMRI (www.memri.org).  Pastors, start holding the imams and other Muslim leaders accountable for what is taught and advocated in their mosques and at their events.  Would you stay silent if a fellow Christian pastor was teaching and advocating such things?

Pastors must also start speaking out about the Muslim slaughter of, and atrocities committed on their fellow Christians, especially in Africa and the Middle East. Jihad Watch covers this on a regular basis and provides you with all the tragic facts you need here.

Are you hesitant to say anything because you have heard that this slaughter and the attendant atrocities are being carried out by “radicals” who have “distorted the peaceful religion of Islam”?  After noting a few examples of these incidents, Ibrahim pointed out:

These incidents — while only a fraction of the whole — illustrate a critical point: The groups in question have little, if anything, to do with each other. They are based in widely different countries across sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and East Asia. They differ in race, language, and sociopolitical context.  What they do have in common is their religion: Islam, which directs them to kill Christians… Recognizing that these disparate terror groups are in fact ideologically unified by Islam is considered taboo… The uncomfortable but necessary truth is that Islam — not this or that terrorist group — provides the ideological framework that inspires hostility and violence against non-Muslims. Unless this reality is faced head-on, the cycle of denial will only continue — along with the persecution and loss of countless lives.[6]

Pastors, are you still uncertain about whether the religion of Islam really supports this slaughter and attendant atrocities?  Then read the three-part article I wrote showing the Islamic Doctrinal support for the murder and atrocities committed by the terrorist group Hamas when they invaded Israel on October 7, 2023.[7]  October 7th was the teachings of Islam on display.

It is also time for Pastors and folks reading this article to start holding Muslims accountable for what their religion teaches.  When you do so, keep in mind, just because a Muslim claims not to follow or believe in a particular teaching of Muhammad or command from Allah, it does not mean that teaching or command is invalid.  In the first place, Islam prohibits a Muslim from disagreeing with Allah or Muhammad.[8]  And in the second place, despite that lack of belief by the individual Muslim, that teaching or command is still a valid doctrine of Islam to which that Muslim can return anytime he/she wants.

One way of holding Muslims accountable, with the focus being on Muslim elected and public officials, is to go to my Muslim Oath Project website (https://www.liberato.us/muslim-oath-project.html).  Here I reported on the results of asking 263 Muslim public officials and candidates in 30 different states and Washington DC to choose between the U.S. Constitution/American Law and Islamic Doctrine by answering Four Questions; 246 would not express support for the U.S. Constitution.  Click on the link for the Four Questions brochure;[9] download it, print and hand it out, and ask these questions of Muslim public officials and candidates.  Let them know that when it comes to a choice between the U.S. Constitution/American Law and Islamic Doctrine, you expect them to publicly support the U.S. Constitution/American Law over Islamic Doctrine.[10]

We must also hold Muslims accountable for the teachings of Islam by focusing on the teachings and example of their prophet Muhammad.  Koran 33:21 states that Muhammad is the model for Muslims to follow if they want to get into paradise.  Below are six topics to focus on.  Each has a link to a specific report that includes numerous writings by authoritative Muslim scholars, who lived from the 8th through the 21st Centuries, that provide shocking details about the reality of Muhammad; many of these details were reported a number of times by different scholars over the centuries.  And most of these writings were translated into English by Muslims and published by Muslim publishing houses.

Can you trust this information about Muhammad?  The answer is “Yes.”  Muhammad said numerous times that anyone who told a lie about him would go to Hell.[11]  These Muslim scholars, translators and publishing houses we are relying on were surely aware of this and had no interest in creating and/or repeating lies about Muhammad.  So, one can either dismiss our authoritative Muslim scholars as merely writers of blasphemous fiction who are in Hell or on their way and assert that our Muslim translators and publishers have joined in with that blasphemy and journey, or we can accept that these reports about Muhammad are accurate.  The evidence supports the second choice.

  1. Muhammad Married a Six-Year-Old Girl.[12]
  2. Muhammad Beheaded 600 Jews in One Day.[13]
  3. Muhammad Was a Slave Owner and Slave Dealer.[14]
  4. Muhammad Distributed Captured Non-Muslim Women Among His Muslim Warriors and Allowed the Women to be Raped.[15]
  5. Muhammad Ordered the Torture and Killing of Non-Muslims.[16]
  6. Muhammad Was Married to 11 Women, 9 at One Time.[17]

And Muhammad is a model for Muslims to emulate?

It’s time to get out of our comfort zones and act.  Remember, just because you ignore Islam doesn’t mean Islam will ignore you.

  1. “On Tuesday, New York City radio host Sid Rosenberg asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio about whether the State Department intends to designate the Muslim Brotherhood and Council on American-Islamic Relations as terrorist organizations. Rubio responded that “all of that is in the works,” although “obviously there are different branches of the Muslim Brotherhood, so you’d have to designate each one of them.””

    The Laws may say that even criminal organizations cannot be “banned,” but provide for the prosecution of the members of such criminal organizations. This has been done under RICO.

    And just because someone claims a *belief* or a *religion,* doesn’t give them license to break laws. The breaking could be addressed without mention of the belief that says breaking is okay.
    The ‘judge’ in MI who allowed the muzziescum to mutilate little girls, to sexually assault them, should have been removed from the bench and there should have been a trial to put the *doctors* in prison.

    There have been prosecutions in the past. The courts have prosecuted and taken children from parents who have objected to certain medical practices based on what they believe. It should be no different with muzzies who mistreat their children by cutting, (including those who have a certain time of year to flagellate themselves and their children) mutilating and selling them for daily rape.

    The “churches” shouldn’t have to be the ones to have this happen. However, people who go to church rightly have a responsibility to acknowledge evil when they see it and not help to cover it up because they want others to see them in a certain light, or they are afraid of the charges of *racism* and *phobia.*
    Unless a church person is also a judge, prosecutor, politician or LE, they don’t have to engage in the same kinds of things which those people do to put an end to this evil. But, they should be aware of attempts to help cover up when evil is being committed. Each person has the responsibility to report child abuse.

    ‘As for the “dietary” restrictions….muzzies shouldn’t be allowed to keep their kids…minors….from eating and drinking water or other beverages normally consumed.
    And the domestic lives shouldn’t include wife beating, nor forcing women against their will to wear clothing which is detrimental to their health.
    But the *word* muzzies call all of these *laws* doesn’t even need to be mentioned. Just use the accepted terminology to prosecute them when the perps are breaking the laws of the land.

  2. Islam is a political system masquerading as a religion. Would we allow immigrants into the United States whose religion allows human sacrifice and cannibalism? No, would we let Mexicans in the USA start practicing the Aztec religion of human sacrifices or the Hawaiian practice of human sacrifices? No, therefore why are we letting Muslims in whose so-called religious and political beliefs allow killing those who criticize it, refuse to accept it or leave it? The list of other beliefs and practices that are a contradiction to the us constitution is long. They say publicly they will outbreed non Muslims and destroy democracy without firing a shot. Remember, Germans voted in Hitler. When Muslims have the majority, they will turn every country into an Islamic dictatorship. KEEP THEM OUT!

    Islamophobia is a fabricated word designed to prevent Islam Awareness and stifle criticism of Muslims and Islam.

    Sharia Law = Islamic Law and is not compatible with the U.S. Constitution, which is the Law of the Land in America.. How would banning Islamic Law in America prevent Muslims from following dietary restrictions, personal hygiene matters, conducting financial transactions with no interest charges, and getting married?     Islam is not a religion. Islam includes religion but is so much more, and the more part is problematic.
    Islam is a Complete Social, Cultural, Political, and Militaristic System that controls every aspect of a Muslim’s life under Sharia, aka Islamic Law, and that has at its core a Political ideology calling for World Domination. The religious part of Islam cannot be separated from the whole and is quite cleverly used as a Shield to conceal the Political ideology and is used to exploit freedom of religion law in America as the World Domination Agenda stealthily advances.

  4. Islam is a political system as much as a religion. Islamism. Can nazism or fascism or communism be classified as religions?

  5. Islam, like Globalism and Marxism, are nothing more than criminal organizations by fiefdoms, and almost all organized criminal activities and crimes are either directly, or indirectly collusive as world wide crime syndications- all their violent acts are crimes. Investigate the crimes, prosecute the criminal rulers and hordes of zombies for committing those lawless deeds.

  6. The idea of islamisation of the west is terrifying and yet so many people go through their daily life in complete ignorance of this agenda. There is a certain opinion that Islam is an ideology that is irreconcilably incompatible with western values. It would require mass remigration to resolve the problem so that the west can live as they once did without fear of Islamic terrorism or the massive cultural change that has to be tolerated in order to accept them as neighbours.

  7. To this day, nobody has been able to explain to me how the LDS church had to modify its doctrine & outlaw polygamy in order for Utah to be a state, vs muslims not having to do a thing to prevent islam from being recognized as a terrorist ideology, like communism

    We need a bunch of Joe McCarthys in both Senate & House, but this time hounding jihadists, as opposed to commies (although commies could use their Joe McCarthy as well)

    • As a former LDS member, I can tell you that the LDS church NEVER modified its doctrine on polygamy. Its practice was only temporarily suspended in order to gain statehood. The doctrine is still in full force and “on the books” (still canonized in LDS scripture, Doctrine & Covenants 132), and is even still practiced “spiritually”, in that men are still “sealed” to multiple women, when previous wives are divorced or deceased, with the belief that the man will have ALL of those wives in mormon heaven.

      There is speculation that with the legalization of gay marriage in 2015, that other “forms” of marriage may also eventually be legalized, with polygamy being one of them, at which time the LDS church will once again openly practice it. Time will tell.

    • The current toleration of muslim polygamy being openly practiced in the West is likely being seen as acceptance of the practice that will lead to its de-criminalization.

What would be the basis for banning these?” — The basis would be that those, too, are parts of sharia. You can’t dissect it into “don’t care” parts and murderous parts and only care about the latter. Also, sharia is meant to replace the laws of the land. Section 43.5 of the Reliance of the Traveler (a.k.a. sharia) says: “areas where Muslims reside and there is a remnant of Islam’s rules—even if this is limited to marriages and what pertains to them, for example—are considered Muslim lands.” Sharia in its entirety is a blueprint of conquest, as is the Koran. So I think that yes, there are very good reasons for the wholesale ban on sharia, and Islam in general.

  9. Political Islam is the worst thing that can happen to America. Stop the Migration Invasion of Islamic followers NOW. And DEPORT the Islamic followers who break our laws and who preach destruction of America and the killing of other religious groups.

    Very true observation on the mental illness called Islam. Unfortunately, the indigenous people still keep voting people into power who keep facilitating, importing, accommodating and rewarding Islam and its illegally invading Muslims. Think the UK, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Australia….) I could mention Turkey and the whole of North Africa, Persia, but they are well past the infection stage of Islam and are at the morbidity stage called terminal or end-stage.

      Yes, Islam itself is the problem.

      When I want to know what Muslims are commanded to believe and how to act, I read the Quran, Hadith and Sharia etc.

      The muslims who don’t practice the stated violence of these writings are irrelevant.

      The ☪️ancer of Islam is there – written down in detail – just waiting for the followers who ARE willing to do as it says. It only takes a few. Then others become inspired. The violent followers can literally point to the commands for their actions in their “holy” books. Furthermore, they can condemn the nonviolent followers for NOT doing as they are commanded.

  11. Stephen M. Kirby knows his Islam and has obviously given the problems that Western Democracies as well as communist dictatorships and Islamic nations have with orthodox Islamic teachings and sharia.

    All the information that he has assembled is a very useful source of education. In the USA in particular very few understand the problem as well as he does and fewer still have attempted to deal with the evils of Islam in a personal way, like questioning Muslim politicians.

    His report on ‘The Ongoing Concerns About Muslim American Mosques and Events’ completed in March 2025 is a valuable tool with specific causes for concern in 28 different states. No more living in denial. I may email it to all the churches in the county where I am registered to vote to see what kind of response I get.

    Don’t try to ban Islam or sharia – but condemn the violence taught by the imams in the mosques
    and hold muslim politicians to Constitutional account.

    So we are not to try to ban the poisonous tree, just its poisonous fruit?

    Doesn’t that just leave the poisonous tree in place to keep on producing its poisonous fruit?

    If I harvest the fruit of a tree, and burn that fruit, it does not kill the tree – it just produces more.

    I appreciate Dr. Kirby’s attempt at an approach to defeat Islam but I don’t see how this would work.

A Black Robe Regiment would also need to defeat the Socialist Democrat Party that is colluding with Islam to overtake the United States. Additionally, fundamental Islam (Muhammad’s Islam) cannot be reformed and devout followers will act upon their 1,400+ year belief that it is their sacred duty to Allah to fight the unbelievers until Islam rules the world.

  15. This article was a breath of fresh air. For 20 years I’ve been aware of these facts and have watched in dismay many of my relatives, friends and acquaintances fail to get these basic truths on what Islam is really like and how we should deal with it.

    How can something so simple to understand, be so hard for the majority of people to accept? I guess people really don’t want to believe what facts and reality shows them is true. And we’re so conditioned to believe every culture and religion is equal – no matter what. Being able to agree with this article almost feels like a superpower lol!

    Hopefully more people are truly waking up and great articles like this will help to confront Islam with confidence.

  16. I think Dr Kirby is one of our foremost experts on the religion of Islam. His scholarship puts him right up there with Dr. Andrew Bostom, Robert Spencer, Julie Pandavar, et al — all of them. That said, I have to disagree with him that the best way to attack Islam in America is with a modern-day version of the Black Robe Regiment.

    Quite simply, I don’t see how an attack from the Pulpit can work unless you have the Catholic Church involved, and how is the Catholic Church going to get involved when the Church’s stance towards Islam depends upon the Pope du jour? One imbecilic Pope Francis can undo years of progress. And it’s too much to expect Priests to oppose the Pope. The admirable Fr. Mario Alexis Portella is an all-too-rare exception.

    Also, I’m surprised Dr. Kirby’s Muslim Oath Project isn’t being eagerly embraced by Muslim office holders and candidates. Islam obligates the bastards to lie to the unbelievers if that helps the Islamic cause of world domination. Oaths are meaningless to Muslims.

    I think Islam is basically a political threat and must be attacked politically, something that’s going to get harder to do as Muslims become a larger voting bloc. Non-Muslims also seem to have a need to “protect” Muslims because they are somehow victims, however defined. This emotional support of Islam should be attacked emotionally. The two ways I would do that are:

    1) Make a BIG stink about how and why Muslims abuse dogs.

    2) Make a Big stink about why there are no Muslim Rene Flemings. Start playing the late Maria Callas singing Ave Maria to accompany where loudspeakers blaring the adhan. That’ll be interesting.
