Young Britons are driving an unexpected surge in Christianity in the UK, with GB News hearing from those who have found faith in both God and the Church.
The UK had been experiencing a staggering decline in Christianity over the past decade, with under two per cent of Britons regularly attending Church of England services.
However, since being freed from lockdown, UK churches have witnessed a major surge in loyal attendees – often spearheaded by younger people.
Figures from YouGov’s bi-annual tracker revealed that belief in God among 18 to 24-year-olds has almost tripled in just three-and-a-half years, rising from 16 per cent in August 2021 to 45 per cent in January 2025.
Among 25-49-year-olds, belief has risen more modestly, from 21 per cent to 33 per cent over the same period.
Church attendance figures have also increased, according to two YouGov polls in 2018 and 2024, which showed a 56 per cent growth in UK adults attending church at least once a month….
The drastic change means the total population of monthly churchgoers rose from 3.7 million to 5.8 million people in just six years….

That’s an interesting trend, but I heard a year or so ago on GBNews that Prince William is not remotely religious nor interested in leading the Church of England. Maybe the English can pick their favorite churches from a catalog?

I wonder if this trend is because the young people can see the UK going to hell because of the invading Muslims. Hard times might produce a religious revival. The only problem is that these Christians might be the very soft Christians who try to be nice and try to get along with evil islam. Christians like the Hungarians and poles are way Christians need to be when it comes to islam. Slam the door on islam.call evil islam what it is and shut it out.

I agree, Tim, but one can hope they recognize….after all of the gang rape, the lies and other violence…that islime is evil to its core and to avoid being ‘nice’ in the face of it.

I hope so too, somehistory. I hope they are not the type of Christians that will want to be endlessly nice and will have inter faith dialogue with Muslims. I’m sure that Muslims must see such things as a joke and a sign of weakness.

It makes sense. Look around. The mass covid fiasco; the destruction of reason around gender fluidity; the invasion of thousands of people who either do not wish to assimilate or actively wish to destroy the place they’ve moving to.
It makes sense young people especially are trying to reconnect with reality. Jesus said “I am the absolute reality” (John 14.6). So it makes sense.

Everyone needs something or someone to hold onto. Some young people join street gangs; these young ones are holding onto something/someone so much better; good for them. I hope their faith grows strong and deep.

Great to see young people realizing how the Left-Green-LGBTQ woke culture is defiling them and destroying their nation.
I recently saw woke culture on display. A young man in his early 20’s completely covered with tattoos from head to foot. No more space for new ones. What is he going to do when he gets tired of them? Not to mention some years back a guy paying at the counter who had tattoos and something operated under his forehead skin so it looked as if he had 2 horns. I have yet to see someone whose eyeballs are tattooed black. There should be a law against this kind of abuse and obligatory psychiatric sessions.

This sounds like a step in the right direction. The whole world needs to take the same step. On another note we need to help our Christian brothers and sisters in Africa and other countries where they are being slaughtered daily by Islamic gangs.
