In a welcome turn, Zohran Mamdani is barely leading in the race for mayor, according to a recent poll:
Mamdani’s break from establishment norms, as a democratic socialist—and his ambitious policy proposals—have not at the moment garnered formal public endorsements from New York’s Democratic leaders, reflecting the degree of uncertainty and division within the party.
Now it has emerged that Mamdani has his own plans on how to deal with the New York City housing crisis. He advocated for the “abolition of private property’” and “seizing means of production.” Let’s hope that this is the last straw for New Yorkers, and ends their tolerance for this brazen Communist, who would cause New York City from further, irreparable damage.

New York City socialist Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani is being ripped for advocating “the abolition of private property” — as a video resurfaced of him touting the radical position this week.
“If there was any system that could guarantee each person housing — whether you call it the abolition of private property or you call it a statewide housing guarantee — it is preferable to what is going on right now,” Mamdani said in the video shared by RNC Research.
“People try to play gotcha games about these kinds of things. Look, I care more about whether somebody has a home.”
The RNC reposting of the old clip — first appearing on the “End Wokeness” group’s X site — is a strong indication that GOP officials will seek to tie Democratic opponents to Mamdani in the 2026 congressional midterm elections, especially if he wins the mayoralty.
Suggesting or supporting stripping owners of property rights without just compensation is controversial and in some instances, illegal.
Mamdani, in another resurfaced clip, talks up “seizing the means of production” — a policy long advanced by Marxists.
President Trump has called Mamdani a “communist.” He identifies as a Democratic socialist.
“Mamdani will be a gift to Republicans,” said New York State Republican Party chairman Ed Cox….

Someone who also follows the activities of leftists, reported that the NYC election is locked up b/c of the IRS rule now allowing religious groups to be actively involved in political matters w/o losing their tax status… The Muslim sections of NYC have already been mobilized so the opinion was that NYC was getting Mamdani….Allah will mandate it…

Anyone in NYC who would vote for him in the general election has something wrong with them, only the reason why functioning as a variable (unless it be that assuming that if Mamdani becomes the next mayor of NYC this will destroy once and for all the Democratic Party of the USA, which political party has lost its collective mind—a risky gamble I fully acknowledge).
And respecting the specific matter of private property, I submit (and not meant in a slave-like Islamic way) that Thomas Jefferson nailed it when he said that where there is no private property there is no freedom. That great fool of fools, the most overrated (and destructive) intellectual in history, Karl Marx, has represented to me for a long time now the absolute antithesis of Jefferson’s sapient assertion.
Capitalism and its political ally, democracy, are far from perfect but they are, no contest here, respectively easily the finest economic system and the finest political system ever developed by man. Mamdani and his foolish and/or evil supporters get none of this.

The good thing about this race is that after that initial shock of Mamdani winning the primary, there are now enough months in b/w to expose him and erode his numbers. The election is in November, so there is plenty of time for various people to do that on a range of issues – his antisemitism, anti-Hinduism, communism, open borders, what have you
That said, I do hope that the bulk of sensible NYC voters rally behind Eric Adams. Yeah, his initial record was mediocre as mayor, but he recognized what putting migrants in the city hotels were doing to it, and was happy to work w/ Tom Homan in addressing that. That much of common sense is welcome, and should earn the support. Please don’t burn your vote on Curtis Sliwa, and Cuomo is a good part of the reason Mamdani won: I wouldn’t have voted for Cuomo either, but would have sat that one out had I been a Dem
