If you are tempted to shed a ready tear over Trump’s shutting down of USAID on July 1, don’t be. The most damning example of the agency’s failures is the analysis it presented in late June — one of its last acts before closing down — of the provision of humanitarian aid in Gaza. Despite mountains of evidence, including the testimony of Gazans themselves, that Hamas systematically stole huge amounts of that aid, USAID insists that there has been no large-scale theft of such aid by Hamas.

A deeply flawed US government analysis, published by Reuters on Friday, astonishingly concluded there was no evidence of systematic theft by Hamas of US-funded humanitarian supplies. This finding directly contradicts overwhelming evidence and testimony, raising serious questions about the report’s methodology and its challenge to the rationale for Israeli and US backing of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
The critical flaw? This unsound analysis conspicuously ignored a mountain of evidence demonstrating systematic aid theft by Hamas throughout the 600-plus-day war.
The USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance study, completed in late June and first reported by Reuters on Friday, examined 156 incidents of theft or loss reported by aid partners between October 2023 and May 2025. The analysis concluded there were “no reports alleging Hamas” benefited from US-funded supplies.
However, the study’s own acknowledgment of severe limitations, combined with extensive documentation of Hamas aid diversion from multiple sources, raises serious questions about the reliability of its findings.
Study’s acknowledged blind spots
The USAID analysis itself candidly identified several critical limitations that may explain why it failed to detect what Palestinians on the ground describe as systematic theft:
The study noted that because aid recipients cannot be vetted, supplies could have reached Hamas administrative officials without detection. Additionally, BHA staff lost access to classified intelligence systems during USAID’s recent dismantlement, potentially missing crucial intelligence reports on Hamas diversions.
Perhaps most significantly, the study relied entirely on self-reporting from aid organizations operating in what analysts describe as a “mafia-like” environment controlled by Hamas through violence and intimidation.
Any aid organization that reported on Hamas’ theft of the aid it supplied to Gazans would endanger the safety of its employees. Better, for their sake, to say nothing, or even to deny there have been any such thefts.
So far, the GHF has successfully delivered more than 90 million meals to Gazans. Why is it, do you think, that the international media have not reported this?
Right now, nearly 1,000 trucks laden with food are inside Gaza, waiting for the UN to distribute the aid. But the UN is refusing to do so, because it wants to undermine the efforts of the GHF, so that it will have to shut down and return the distribution of aid to Hamas-linked UNRWA.
The evidence of Hamas’ massive theft of humanitarian aid includes the testimony of Gazans themselves, and the claims made by the Palestinian Authority, and taped conversations about aid theft between Hamas operatives. Yet this evidence is consistently ignored by USAID in its report that exculpates Hamas and blames Israel for the “starvation” — actually “malnutrition,” which is a different thing — in Gaza. Good riddance, then, to USAID. And when Gazans complain about Hamas stealing aid, listen to them.

As an Israel government official had explained “They, Hamas, steal the aid, they resell the aid, they use the money to rearm, then they to attack again …. Aid that goes Hamas is not humanitarian ….”it’s “Enabling the enemy to resupply itself so that can regroup and reattack us..” [1]
Just thinking about this the Gazan people wouldn’t really need al that aid if Hamas hadn’t started this war on October 7,th 2023.

That it’s a “good thing “ to commit many evils to obtain a “worker’s paradise.” Likewise, during World War II even the Nazis had this line of thinking.” To express, as in to illustrate this idea, even more, is by using a twenty-first century movie. Near the end of this movie, just before the final defeat of the super-arch –villain General Zod , that super villain said “No matter how brutal and deadly I was I did it for the greater good.” That is the common mindset of many villains including those of Hamas.

It seems that Islam removes all circuit breakers for Hamas just as allegiance to the Japanese Emperor did in WWII, Any sane army would have surrendered as soon as it was apparent that they would be soundly defeated. But, their ideology requires that they die for honor or for Allah respectively.

Some very decent but naïve Westerners who don’t understand the despicable loathsome character of the jihadists of Hamas, when those people of the West discover that the terrorists of Hamas are stealing the humanitarian aid sent to the noncombatant civilians of Gaza and using it only for themselves.
Those same Westerners would be shocked and then ask “How can those Muslim terrorist of Hamas being Muslim do such a terrible unconscionable as that, to deprive other Muslims, who are not violent, of the aid they so desperately need ?”
