Jihad Watch has stated repeatedly over the years that Turkey should have long ago been expelled from NATO. Turkey does not hold the values of Western free societies.
Turkey became rapidly Islamized under its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. It is a much different country from what it was in 1952, when it joined NATO. In the “years following World War II, Turkey found itself in a unique geopolitical position,” siding with the Western free world when it was “desperate for protection.” So it joined NATO. It is now clear how short-sighted NATO was to embrace this Muslim country with its Ottoman history.

Turkey is likely to announce a preliminary multi-billion-dollar procurement deal for European fighter jets as early as this week, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the negotiations.
The Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets rival the US F-35 fighter jets, made by Lockheed Martin. Israel signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance in June of last year to acquire its third F-35 squadron for its Air Force, which includes 25 aircraft.
The contract for the European fighter jets would be for a maximum of 40 jets, although the details are still under negotiations, according to the WSJ.
The European jets are built by a consortium of Europe’s three largest defense companies: BAE Systems, Airbus, and Leonardo.
In 2023, talks over Turkey’s acquisition of the fighter jets failed due to Germany’s reluctance to approve an export license over concerns about the country’s foreign policy. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization member has, in recent years, aligned itself with Russia, China, and Ankara has hosted members of terror organizations, notably Hamas leadership.…

In Libya, these jets did not have targeting technology, and therefore did not make much of an impact. For example, the US Air Force (or Navy) eliminated 33% of Libya’s army in one week (part of Obama’s “no fly” operation). However, when the Europeans took over, Libya’s army (the 67% left after the Americans) remained in placed. The US was called back to bomb Gaddafi’s house, because the Europeans couldn’t hit it. With their targeting technology, the US hit the house square after dropping the bomb from 20 miles away.
In any event if these jets still don’t have targeting, Turkey is getting a substandard product.
