With Trump in the White House, the Iranian regime’s thugs know that they will face opposition, so all that is left for them is to talk big, as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi tried to do in the face of Trump’s threat.
Prior to Trump, Biden’s typical leftist appeasement strategies only served to embolden jihadists and enabled them to proliferate. Although Iran insists that “its nuclear programme is for purely civilian purposes,” Iran has for years lied persistently about the purpose of its uranium buildup, even during negotiations toward a nuke deal (see HERE and HERE), making a fool out of naive Western participants. Tehran thinks that it can again get away with its taqiyya ploys, which it likely can with leftist leaders, but it cannot fool Trump or Netanyahu.
“Trump warns US could bomb Iran nuclear sites again if they restart,” Reuters, July 28, 2025:
TURNBERRY, Scotland, July 28 (Reuters) – President Donald Trump warned on Monday that he would order fresh U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities should Tehran try to restart facilities that the United States bombed last month.
Trump issued the threat as he held talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at his Turnberry golf resort on the western coast of Scotland.
Iran, which denies seeking to develop a nuclear weapon, has insisted it will not give up domestic uranium enrichment despite the bombings of three nuclear sites.
Trump told reporters Iran has been sending out “nasty signals” and any effort to restart its nuclear program would be immediately quashed.
“We wiped out their nuclear possibilities. They can start again. If they do, we’ll wipe it out faster than you can wave your finger at it,” Trump said.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Monday Tehran is fully aware of the impact of what he called the American-Israeli aggression on both sides and warned that any repeat of such actions would prompt a decisive response.
“If aggression is repeated, we will not hesitate to react in a more decisive manner and in a way that will be IMPOSSIBLE to cover up,” Araghchi posted on X, without providing further specifics….

This time, instead of bombing Iranian nuke sites, why not just go for regime change? Take out the Ayatollah and the president, have Reza Pahlavi implement the transition plan that he put together, and then let the Iranians have elections after a few mainstream, secular & democratic parties have established themselves throughout Iran
James Lincoln says
Certainly, great if it could be made to work, Infidel.

Sounds like the next reasonable step.

While that sounds good unfortunately we’ve had terrible track record doing regime change in the middle east. Think Iraq and Libya. It’s up to the Iranian people.

That’s what I meant. I’m certainly not suggesting that we should occupy Iran, architect for them a new constitution & government and then leave. Also, given our record, it was fine what Israel was doing, since they know the place, and the people. They could have assassinated Khamenei, and Prince Reza Pahlavi could have moved in and managed a transition to a secular, democratic government
Once that happens, the Iranians themselves will shut down their nuclear program, since right now, water is their emergency crisis that plagues them
OLD GUY says
Ok turn Iran into a parking lot. Maybe the rest of these Islamic nuts will get the message.
