Minneapolis: Muslim migrant socialist mayoral candidate accuses opponents of ‘hate’

The problem is not that Omar Fateh is a migrant from Somalia. He could have come here and adopted American values. Instead, he adopted socialist values. The problem is that his proposals regarding raising the minimum wage (which will increase unemployment), defunding the police, and not cooperating with ICE will lead to further division among Americans, and make Minneapolis a less pleasant place to live for everyone.

Minneapolis mayoral candidate and Minnesota state Sen. Omar Fateh is calling out a slate of right-wing complaints regarding his legal status and Muslim identity.

The Washington, D.C. native and son of immigrant parents from Somalia is running in the city’s 2025 mayoral election. While critics have condemned his progressive causes like rent freezes and minimum wage increases, some comments have escalated into online attacks about his appearance, religion and citizenship.

Fateh spoke out against hateful comments on X Monday night, July 14, replying to an anti-Islamic post from conservative political activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Fateh replied to Kirk’s post, writing: “Minneapolis is a beautifully diverse city that stands firm in our progressive values. The hate I’ve seen today – and most days – is not who we will ever be.”

Omar Fateh, 35, is a Democrat currently serving his second term as a state senator for Minnesota’s 62nd district while running to be the next mayor of Minneapolis.

Born in Washington, D.C., Fateh said he is the son of immigrant parents from Somalia and is soon to be a father….

In his run for mayor, Fateh identifies as a democratic socialist who, among other policies, vows to improve rideshare protections for Uber and Lyft drivers, combat police violence and increase the supply of affordable housing.

He promises to raise the city’s minimum wage from $15.97 to $20 by 2028. The minimum wage in Minnesota is currently $11.13.

He also vows to stand up to the current President Donald Trump’s administration, including not allowing city police to work with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)….

Grassroots organization TakeAction Minnesota condemned the comments toward Fateh’s citizenship and Muslim identity.

“Islamophobia has no place in politics or our communities,” the group wrote in an X post. “Sen. Fateh is right – this hate is not who we will ever be. We are organizing to elect leaders like Sen. Fateh because we share a vision for communities built around care and love – not hate.”…

  1. It seems like this person will be a lot like another Muslim from Somalia by the name of Ilhan Omar. A lot of these muslims identify as Socialist Democrats. There agenda is way too radical. Also there is the teaching in Islam that they must turn the United States into an Islamic country with Sharia law that results in me not trusting these Muslims in government offices.

Allah teaches and promotes enmity and hatred when Quran 5:14 says, “And some of those who say, ‘Surely we are Nasara (Christians),’ we took their covenant. So they have forgotten a part of what they were reminded of, so we have stirred up enmity and hatred among them until the resurrection day. And Allah will inform them of what they were doing.”

    If he appeared without the nice green ( or is it blue?) shirt and tie, he could be one of those caught committing crimes and pleading insanity. I recall an account in recent times where a fellow somalian was caught and he looked very much like this guy.
    And appearances do matter.

      • True. But then he will go on to “improve” life for Somalians and help enlarge a coterie, a parallel society that takes more from the state than it returns while refusing assimilation, not becoming Americans, rather remaining Somalians.

        The Irish met great resistance yet had the intention of, and did assimilate. Islam expects no fealty to governments so assimilation is unlikely by a true believer.

        This is what killed Rome – all roads led to the tree of wealth and eventually a minority of Romans couldn’t provide all the sap required. Modern societies die from millions of taps into their lifeblood until too weak to withstand other forces.

        I expect a day will come when Ford abandons Dearborn, New York City collapses, and there is American flight from US Muslim cities, including Minneapolis. It really doesn’t matter the source of unpatriotic dependents, the effect of decline is the same.

          Fully agree.

          Given that it is a supremacist, totalitarian theocracy, Islam is by definition both antithetical to, and incompatible with our secular, man made laws and many (most?) of its followers threaten them.

          That, not his physical appearance is the issue.

    • The British people (ie white) will be a minority in Britain by 2063, apparently. Britain will be a muslim Caliphate shortly after. From a certain perspective, it’s going great.

    This girl (and there are other similar stories linked on that page) tells the same story as so many others. First raped at 12. Police caught an illegal muslim pakistani raping her at 14, but arrested her, targeted her, and put her photo out as an undesirable. She was taken from her family and placed in a home where the staff allowed men to both come inside the home to rape her and to cruise for girls. The staff bribed her with fast food to shut her up. She said there were at least 20 girls being trafficked out of that home and that the staff and police did nothing.

    That’s what you’re selling your children into, Minneapolis.

    Why can’t the problem be both? Anyone ever met a Somalian? I once had a Lyft driver who was, and at the end of the ride, he was asking me how to operate the app. This despite the fact that Lyft sends an inspector to first check on the condition of one’s car, and instruct you on how to go about it. In other words, that guy was as dumb as rocks

    Seeing how when the Somalian prime minister campaigned for Ilhan Omar and in his language, claimed that she was their voice in the US Congress, even while she looked dotingly at him, it’s obvious that their leaders are no smarter. Even if one country had an obvious plant in another, the last thing their leaders would do would be brag about it

    • Of course we are no longer living in the dark ages when it comes to Islam or people from Somalia. If this young man was a male version of Ayaan Hirsi Ali we would be thrilled to vote for him but he is not. We have a right to ask questions about everything even a person’s religious convictions when those may contradict the constitution the citizen will be taking an oath to defend.

    • Just read an endorsement for deporting even legals. An Afghan Uber driver told his rider, the author, that he and his family are on welfare and his wife has no intention of working. Many imported, like him, simply took cash in Afghanistan to lie that they had information or to appear to be advancing US interests. No benefit to the US accrues from their presence.

Years ago, there were numerous shows where a no-good slob of a relative would move in and take advantage of a family.. the slob might be alone, or bring along a slob of a family who took and took, while the man and his wife who allowed the slobs to stay kept trying to think of a way to get rid of the slobs.

        It was always presented as comedy; but it isn’t really. And in this situation, it is also dangerous.

Since Mamdani threw his turban into the ring all the “Democratic Socialists” (read Communist, Islamic, Immigrant Family) are now going to become Mayors of major cities, predictably to destroy Western government from within. Aside from Fateh’s apparent resemblance to a Qat chewing, barefoot, Jihadist Yemeni, this guy is a pathway to societal suicide. The fact that he is a State Senator is a clue to whom the residents of the state prefer as leaders. Minnesota, beginning with Ilhan Omar, and thanks to Obama’s bringing thousands of Somalis to the state, should not be a shock but a warning. Stop before it is too late.

This is going as plan by the elite ,whose ideas where to import people who will sow chaos, mayhem ,whose cultural could not pull itself out of pre-9 century ,who only believe in a slave master mentality loyalty to the tribe .Some happen to be African ,some happen to be Arab ,some happen to be from parts of Russia very Slavic , some happen to be Asian they all happen to be Islamic believers .Now they have become leaders running cities like London ,soon ,NYC ,and also many small and middle size cities in the mid- western part of America .When things get bad enough we the average non-Moslem Americans will be begging for marshal law to lose our freedom for safety from the Moslem mob.

  23. Not liking or opposing Islam is not a phobia. A phobia is an irrational fear. When one learns Islam’s history, Islam’s objectives, and what Islam promotes, no rational person would want Islam citizens or colonies around them. People need to read the Qur’an (ISBN: 978-0-913321-01-0) and learn Islam’s real history. And Islam is not a religion, it is a theocracy – a government with a religious component. Consider what would happen if Jews tried to force Leviticus laws or created colonies.

    Look at the violence going on in the Middle East. The violence is being promoted and done by Islam citizens and militias. This is the violence Mohammad started and promoted when his claims about Jehovah, Jesus, and his god Hubal, were rejected by the people of Arabia. Read the Qur’an and learn Islam’s real history.

    Note: the Arabic word “allah” is a contraction of the Arabic phrase “al ilah”, and means “the (al) god (ilah)”. It is used to reference the god Hubal, who is associated with the moon and is chief god of a pantheon of around 360 gods, goddesses, and spirits.
